So, my daughter had her friend over yesterday...I know of nopales, but he suggested for health I try it...He is Mexican and grew up in the valley and knows of such things....I have giant prickly pear cactus outside, and I will pick and cook eventually, but to decide IF I like the flavor I picked up some, already skinned and chopped. I am making it with salmon and curry, and yes I will throw some tumeric in there! "Nopalitos contain galactogamin gums which retard the absorbtion of their sugars by the digestive system and are thus considered to have a low glycemic index. They may help in the treatment of diabetes" from Wiki YUMMMMM! IP: Logged |

Well, my daughter told me this looks "grose"But it sure does taste good! Maple pan sauceage, dried onion bits (seems to bring out the onion flavor more) spinach, eggs, tumeric and nopalitos.. Cooked in the same iron skilit not washed, to retain flavor from my recent cooking ventures! (put it in the fridge overnight so as not to breed bacteria...)
