Here's something I just read about tomatoes:

I was browsing the bookshelves at the library today. Found out more interesting food facts.

Peanut butter originated with the Aztecs, but in 1890 it became a dietary supplement described as a protein source for people with bad teeth.

Brandy was accidentally discovered by a Dutch pharmacist who concentrated wine with heat intending to save export taxes and reconstitute it later but the watered down version was undrinkable. Brandywine translates, "burnt wine."
