I've started this life style last week. I feel I need to clean my organism. I must say, I'm not super strict yet. But I looove it so far. After one week of eating food which is 95% vegan and low-sodium and low-fat(I had a fat-free cheese), I couldn't eat a piece of salami, because I found it way too salty. I guess, it's a progress already. My question is about popcorn. After watching tons of youtube videos, nobody mentioned it as a part of their diet. I wonder why? Of course, I mean the kernel popcorn, not the microwaveable one. I love popcorn, it's such a nice snack. Does it have a lot of fat? Hmmm...

You can put olive oil on it instead of butter. A co-worker of mine even sprinkles hers with nutritional yeast. I personally can't stand nutritional yeast (maybe cause I puked up this vegan pate one day that we make that has a lot of it in it, so bad memories) but to each their own. As for the salt... can't help you there, I love salt! But you could make it vegan at least with the olive oil instead of butter switch. The popcorn itself has no fat, its practically like eating air, really, it's just the oil/butter adding that gives it fat. My favorite way to eat popcorn is with a little bit of honey, cumin, and chili powder. A little goes a long way. I don't like buttered or salty popcorn. In the microwavable kind, I usually get the kettle corn flavor, and add my seasonings. I don't have a microwave now, so I hardly make it, but you can buy the plain kernels and pop it in a pot on the stove.Edit: Oops, honey isn't vegan. I guess you could use agave nectar or maple syrup. Hey!!Sorry, I haven't been active in weeks. It goes greatly. I would advice this lifestyle to everyone. I eat low fat, low salt, no meat, no dairy for at least 5 days a week. All I can say so far, I feel so much better, much more enrgised, and I only need around 6 hours sleep, instead of 8-9. IP: Logged |

Thank you everyone, who have replied, and gave me ideas! I really want to try the caramel one, but I'll use brown/sugarcane sugar instead, as natural as possible, since that's the whole point of my new lifestyle Since I don't eat much salt, I need to find other seasoning. There is a nice recipe with chilr/garlic flakes. I tried it at home, and it was super delicious! Ahhh, I wish I had a garden You are so lucky Ami IP: Logged |

Organic Tamari is good for you. It is a natural soy sauce. Some of the pink Himalyan salts are good for. Having a garden was a life long dream. I never thought I would have one because it seemed too out of reach and special. Today, I picked cherries off the cherry trees and fresh basil. I have a basil juice every morning because it calms you and I am a high strung Gemini and an earth void on top of that LOL

Ami, this is awesome! I wish I a garden, too Everything sounds so yum, especially cherries. My family had a summer house up until my teens. We used to grow everyhting, that could grow in that climate. We had 2 cherry trees, but almost never ate any berries, because birds were much faster at picking them I have never heard of Organic Tamari. Gonna definitely check it out. And pink salt sounds interesting.

Haha Randall, to be honest I'm struggling, too. I don't use salt per-se, but I must confess, I sprinkle some low-sodium soy sauce on my salads IP: Logged |
