Pecan Pie, My favorite !!!!! Haven't made it for many years because every recipe calls for corn syrup. So I made a pie last week with my own substitutions: coconut sugar instead if brown sugar and raw sugar syrup instead if corn syrup. Exceptional pie if I may say so myself.
I cheated on the pie crust, too. I used the food processor and added chunks of frozen butter. What a great tasting rich and flaky crust. I think maybe the secret is in the whole wheat pastry flour.

That would be very sweet. The nuts counteract the sweetness. I wonder if ground nuts would work. It would look pecan-less but taste less sweet.
