I guess I could add "The Zone" to....

I've been researching the Paleo diet and the Eat Right for Your Blood Type", has anyone tried any of these, did you have success?? Not with losing weight necessarily just feeling better and how hard was it to follow?

Mostly vegggies, and esp veg mixed with carbs.

Lots of plant protein with occasional meat tossed in as I feel there is no good substitute for Animal Fat based nutrition

Sometimes feeding my body to feel healthy takes the feeding of my soul simultaneously. When i am feeling connected to my spiritual guidance my soul leade me to the foods and lifestyle that are perfect for my own body type. I just have to flow with it.

I always feel better physically when I exercise both my mind and body and eat whatever I want in moderation, without feeling guilty about. One bite, one small serving, to serve my sensual and emotional needs. Dont have to make a rich fatty food into a main course. I guess that takes self control and self mastery, not to down the whole batch in one serving.

I have not tried any fad diets. The paleo diet sounds interesting, though. I will read up on it.

I've been following the blood type diet for a few years now and love it. Occasionally I'll have things that aren't part of it but that is often due to circumstances such as when I eat with others or on a whim.

I had a look at the genotype diet which is of course similar and thought I would switch to it as it seemed pretty much what I was doing but cranked up to another level. After awhile I felt out of sync with aspects of it and have realized that I'm not confident with the criteria that qualified me as one genotype over another.

I think that the foods and servings allowed on the blood type diet are right for me though I don't eat all the foods allowed for one reason or another.

In some ways the paleo diet is right for me as they don't include grains, dairy or beans. I do find that these foods have negative effects on me even though I like them so I try to limit these foods. Grains are a bit of a downfall for me though.

I also find that if I have eaten something that is fairly processed, I can feel it is not right for me as well. So, generally I try to eat foods that are close to their basic form or maybe just cooked/spiced etc by me.

Even though I include either fruit or salad at most meals, I couldn't handle solely living on raw because I would find it too boring.

Oh see now, you have started me on food. I have the potential to bore people to death on matters of diet.

Try "Super Duper" instead , C.

Oh, and Randall, I have no clue about my blood type either - thought I was the only one.

I don't know my blood type either but I do know that it is negative! I had a procedure where they had to test for negative/positive blood but they refused to tell me the type, only that I was negative! How weird is that. But I am going to find out on Tuesday!

I have a friend who follows the blood type diet pretty rigorously. He also had arthritis and cured this through following dietary guidelines where he doesn't eat any plants from the nightshade family (no potatoes, tomatoes, etc.) He also has a type of incurable cancer, lymphoma/leukemia that he has stabilized for the last 15 or so years through diet (thought not cured), I think there needs to be more work on thought processes/more raw if he wanted to completely cure it. But stabilized for 15 years is still pretty good!

I don't follow a specific diet yet but am leaning towards working on raw vegan eventually. Going to try the banana island fast (google if curious, or check out the video link in my Candida vs fruitarian thread in Health and Healing, the other H & H ) but it's basically just eating bananas for as many days as you can/want as a cleanse. Something about having a mono-fruit diet being easier for your stomach to work on just one thing while clearing out toxins.. But I don't think I'll ever restrict myself FULLY to a diet, ie, I want to work on being MOSTLY raw and vegan but I don't want to completely impose it on myself that I MUST, and I think I will usually have a (lightly?) cooked meal at night except when trying out the banana island

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm going to look up my blood type and see what the diet says for me. I never heard of the banana cleanse before. I wonder what a banana picked ripe from the tree taste like?
