From the 5th Edition 1949 Bohemian-American Cook Book compiled by Marie Rosicky:Harvest Drink (Ami, you would probably like this one) Add a tablespoon of ground and sifted ginger to a quart of cold water, three tablespoons of sugar and a cup of vinegar. Very pleasant and wholesome.
