Seriously wired, no?...and they just keep getting weirder and weirder with it! What's up with that!Like Eminem/Slim shady...never found that weird...maybe cause I liked him since I was little...and just took it as okay he has two names for himself. But then Niki Minaj...yeah I like her a lot. And I like her different styles of voices...but does she really need to go 'Now I'm Barbie!, NOW I'M ROMAN!, Now I'm Nicki!'? And then Lady Gaga at the VMA's...Called her self Jo Calderone. Dressed up like a dude. And even said that she wasn't Lady Gaga. Just watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QMchMgokCI It was entertaining and hilarious though. Like what if normal people start doing that!? Like if George comes into is office job dressed like a Woman saying "I'm Greta today..." Or Alice saying "I'm about to tell it like it is...so now I'm 'Money Bu!$ne$$ Bob!" IP: Logged |

it was normal i guess back in the day to have a screen name. it's just that people are just so schizophrenic with their choices like prince to tafkap to that symbol. or sean combs to puff daddy to diddy to didlysquat lol. cary grant's real name for example was archie leach. nicolas cage is actually a copolla and nephew of francis ford copolla. i would actually choose sand for mine especially since the notorious BIG has already been taken LOLOL! That's what I was thinking too. It's much more sinister than just entertainment. IP: Logged |

Garth Brooks pretty much ruined his career by doing that. He was at the height of his career and suddenly developed an alter-ego rock star persona, named... Chris something. (you can tell I am doing this by memory and not google, lol)When everybody got weirded out about it, his reps came up with a story that he was just showing up dressed like that to research for a role or something. IDK. It was strange and I don't recall him charting after that, but don't take my word b/c I don't listen to country music. IP: Logged |

it's hard to imagine myself as something else to me... my screen name lechien had to take a loooong time to be attached to myself. i think perhaps for artists, it may be important in some cases to have different things they can get into. but some just annoys the hell out of me, like "you think you are being cool?" I know right...like why do celebs act like they have like a how you say...split personality disorder. There probably are a few people out there that really do have this issue...and it probably scares the crap outta them. And would kill not to have other voices and personalities in their head. IP: Logged |

I think that a lot of celebs are actually quite sensitive and shy introverts that happen to have an artistic gift of entertaining. They build up these alter egos to handle the rejection, judgment and negative sides of the business so that their "normal" selves won't be as affected or damaged by that kind of scrutiny. A lot of the times, it's also part of their art, part of their expression. I get that from Gaga. She is an extremely moved and creative person so it comes as not surprise at all that she has the various "Personalities" on stage. I think it's interesting, and not much different than the creative termperments of a genius artist or inventor, it's just on a larger scale because they are in the center of the media. IP: Logged |
