aww Venus - ;; I know how ya feel... I'm both apart from my ol' friends in the states and I've got one of them out traveling the world... makes me nervous when we don't hear from her in long intervals - she even stayed in Afghanistan for awhile helping soldiers with ptsd (she's got a really big heart)... Do you guys stay in touch? I don't know what I'd do without my friends staying in touch with me up here... haha so isolated. 'specially around the holidays... ugh I'm doin' all I can to stay positive right now, mehself!~ ^^ means the world when you hear an ol' familiar voice~ even if ya hafta' skype call, or from your favourite singer instead!!! lol right?!

-----------------------------

I'm adding two more --- ^^; (the music helps with the coping yahhhh)

Ludovico Einaudi - Italian pianist ---- classical musician --- amazin' ol' dude~ --- yep and no singing for this one~ just good old fashioned classical music for a change~ let's defy that language barrier!~

Fuori Dal Mondo

Oh - and idk why I didn't think of adding her earlier ---

(esp if you liked Amy Winehouse; and retro/throwback style divas) --- you'll love this Aquarian-Italian beauty~ !

--- here looksie!!! --->

and!!! --- here's a cover~ of a song well... everyone pretty much knows... haha

L'amore Verrà <---- she's so awesome too!

I'm in one of those awful moods again... terrible... Anyone want to trade sun signs for a day??? no? please!

Cruel Fairy tale - IU

if you look around I think they have a well translated video up somewhere on youtube - I love IU in many, many, many ways... that's all I can say 'bout that...

and...

Con te Partiro - Andrea Bocelli

--- I love Andrea Bocelli beyond words... he's a god among men...

--- Lara

my Chinese is probably only slightly better than my knowledge of Thai... but I do listen to a bit from time to time... certain performers~ you know... Vanness, Faye, Nicholas... but not too too often... not usually newer things either... it's a mood....

I know we used this one in the other thread --- but hey.... it's like one of my top 5 songs of all time..... it can't be beat... and I don't think the last link had the beautiful video in it~ or the translation in it... this has the whole kitten-kaboodle as nanna use to say.

Wheesung

주르륵

I may put up Ivy later if I come back to do so... it will be here.... just to make it a perfect, imperfect couple... art imitating life, imitating art... cliche...

Here's Ivy ~ I've chosen this one... for a few reasons~ but it does go hand in hand with the above ^ from Wheesung.

Adding - what I think is the first Spaniard artist to the list????

Bunbury - or Enrique Bunbury~
greatly talented musician~ not so well known as he ought to be though ----- hmmm... lol
(not to mention oddly youthful and cute! hah)
August 11, 1967 (see he's up there)
but he still got a look about him... iunno

this song - should be sad - or, more so, I think it's from a sad man's pov.... but... perhaps it's my apathetic nature coming through... it kinda makes me happy!

you try~

Confesión

~_~ I've made a silent vow to avoid my normal music/musicians for at least the next 5 weeks. ~ need to find something more refreshing, and inspiring - kinda getting tired of the same old.... same old~

So if anyone would like to share!~ ^__^
please jump in~

<--- only one updating, yes I'm aware, and I don't mind, so there!

------------------------------------
I have been struggling something fierce not to give in and listen to my normal, favourite -far eastern- artists/musicians; in fact it is proving much harder than I'd anticipated.

But, that's what happens when you dedicate 10 years to a study then give it up in a day. ugh...

------------- so... anyway....

I happen to have a handful of Irish musicians that I enjoy very much, mostly folk artists, or traditional gaelic singers.. but there's a few in the global territory---

I share with all the lovely ladies of LL, this one.... An amazing song with poignant lyrics, soulful composition, bordering on being "country" genre, by the incredible Irish band....

The Coronas

...and if you're a gentleman, too bad... this song is more appropriate for the tenderhearted angels here~

(((it's hard to drink bourbon without buck tick playing "rhapsody" in the background... bummer...))) *willbreakthisaddiction* XD hopefully~

I was in a passing mood again~ and in my mental wandering and pondering thoughts of someone.... who I haven't detached from entirely, came to mind... someone who knows my weaknesses, and whose weaknesses I know as well...

ah,how I detest my own vulnerability sometimes!

here~

perhaps this, with its sharp lyrics and her staggeringly perfect, French Diva vocals will help anyone else who has such memories lingering~ it's not good to be unguarded and fragile.... but, even a cold and bitter woman falters from time to time, ne?

Ou! FJY AND Karas! Xodian you have excellent tastes! ^^ please contribute all you'd like!

I was a really really big fan of FictionJunction Yuuka early on when I was just really getting into learning Japanese, I remember when they had their hiatus and just thinking, "oh no not another group leaving the scene" but of course they came back after only a short break... (relieved!) haha

===============================================

Hm... since I just broke my own rules haha - I'm adding another Buck Tick song to the list... because it's New Years and there are people suffering and without loved ones... And, that kinda' gets me... not just cause I'm one of 'em.... (First year without my father).

This song is called "Jupiter" with composition done by Imai Hisashi (L.Guitar/Noise/Backing Vocals) and lyrics by the frontman Sakurai Atsushi - despite the use of psuedo-taboo lyrics (when read they seem to imply something of an incestuous relationship) the song was one of several in written in Atsushi's grief after the passing of his mother, in honour of the woman who raised him all but on her own, and always was supportive of his career; and is actually dedicated to her memory. I do not doubt that knowing his love of double entendre that it may also reference his short lived first marriage which ended just before his mother's passing. - Yes - I am a diehard Buck Tick fangirl... /sigh

This video is a live performance with subtitles already provided in the video. This is taken from the Climax Together concert of '92~ Atsushi's long hair and still semi-unpolished vocals..... they do things to this woman... horrible, Pisces Descendanted woman.... hahaha (hence me choosing this one instead of one of the grand versions from later concerts with massive audiences - this one just feels more intimate, and has more raw emotion attached to it!)

JUPITER

I believe the use of "Jupiter" as the title is due to Mokusei (Jupiter in Japanese), it is planet of wood/trees... and thus linked to the Earth, and bearing fruit... and by that - the family tree... it also has to do with "freedom".... Like I said, with Sakurai's lyrics it's hard to say which meaning is being implied and if there are more than one, how much relevance they have. But, I thought it important to share, since this is an Astro forum, and this is a band that loves using Astro-aesthetics. hehe

LYRICS: (trn: elenko)
As I walk out onto the spiral of the moon, nothing but shooting stars dance in the sky
From there, I could just see you, tiny and far away
Gently waving at me

The red droplets flowing down my cheeks
Are at least a sign of our parting

I should have known from the beginning, about return, but…just a little
I’ll forget about the knife of reality
It cuts into my heart…I should sink down deeply

On my eyelids, afterimages appear and fade, and light shines, resembling Mother
Then tears, blood, and all of you dry up
And my memories grow distant

How much longer must I keep mourning?
Can I be gentle even once?
Goodbye, gentle smiling face
Tonight, will I sleep alone again?

The red droplets flowing down my cheeks
Are at least a sign of our parting
Tonight, in the beautiful droplets of moonlight
Even my soiled body…

How much have I hurt people?
Tonight, I wonder if I can be gentle
Goodbye, sad smiling face
Tonight, will I sleep alone again?

Please enjoy~! and add as you like!!!

Utada hehe cap sun pisces moon scorpio ascendant >.>;

I don't listen to jpop much ever anymore - years ago, sure.. I had my mini-KATTUN crush with Kameneshi Kazuya too </3 younger boys </3 Pisces boys x_X

There is one weakness that I have....... but I swear it's not for her voice...godno... thought she's been workin' on that and had a few recent songs released that didn't make me want to gouge my eardrums out with an ice pick....

Lick Me

*idontnamethevideossongsorotherstuff* haha

But, it answers Mr.Milkshake's question/comment.... No I do NOT resemble Oscars favourite in anyway.... I'm just like Miss Koda here... fickle, miscelleneous, and ultimately - vanille~ <3

but sometimes.... sometimes... when I'm really hyper and in my element!~ I like to be Pistacchio or Watermelon!!! mwahahhahaha

The Queen of Enka - Hibari Misora

Ai Sansan

this is my favourite of her best known live performances ~ it is sadly one of the last she had.

Now for someone people won't know -- because Hibari Misora is a very well known enka singer~

This is my favourite living enka singer - her voice is beyond unique... and by that, I mean her speaking voice not just singing voice! haha
(I'm posting two from her - because I can't just listen to one ever -haha - hopefully you'll find some appreciation for this unique singer, and this very old fashioned style of music)

Moriyama Aiko!!!

Koi Sake

Onna Bushi

I haven't forgotten males here -- haha not at all~ this is Jero ~ someone I actually know~ ^^

Jero is one of a handful of not purely ethnic Japanese Enka singers who've made it into the charts~ his grandmother got him into singing along with her old enka records when he was young!

JERO!!

And a little something from the young Prince of Enka -- Hikawa Kiyoshi

Zundoko-bushi

it's so much fun~ papaya!!!! hahaha XD

Glad to see I am not the only one who has credible taste in good animated flicks and music . There is a lot of stuff by FictionJunction Yuka that I like though I am more of a fan of Yuki Kajiura and her works. I swear that woman is a gifted composer with a magic touch.

I particularly like "Song of Storm of Fire."
