I guess depends what your coming to nyc for. There are plenty of things to do and see. its literally the city that doesn't sleep. There might be a bit of a culture shock.

New York is one of the cities I hope to end up in! What's living costs generally like there?
Rent and groceries - expensive, not expensive, one is but the other isn't, etc. ...?

Depends on your income and which section of nyc you live in. Manhattan rent is generally the highest the same goes for the price of groceries. Part of the reason is some stores carry organic food or specialized food. Lower Manhattan I.e soho, west village, noho is the trendier area with the younger crowds. second is Brooklyn.

It does seem like that. Either way I decide rationally and not because I want solely to sow wild oats.

I would like to escape a few things.

To become somebody else.

I just had this discussion with some people a few days ago, this really isnt a good dating city, its more like the hookup capital of the east coast.. sure you can escape here between the food, nightclubs, hookah bars, and fashion.

So u r not happy with that situation or hookup capital is fine witchu? I might be okay with that at the start but I am a Taurus at heart.

Hmm.. I might be getting too old for all of that soon! #saturnreturn

The hookup thing doesn't bother me because I'm not hooking up with random people. But that's the price of living in a major city well its not as bad as Miami or LA thats for sure.

One of the great things about nyc is there isn't such a emphasis on "physical ideal" of cali it more about style/fashion and culture.

Cali feels like I am just back home actually. Spanish culture, heat, cars and traffic.. I prefer the colder big cities in the world. Paris, Tokyo though not exactly my preferences at the time.

So.. U think I'd be a hit there?
