^^

I just recall when I went to see Drag Me to Hell (which I only saw because of Alison Lohman starring in it, and I've also liked some of the stuff Raimi had written before which made me decide to give it a chance), and though it didn't scare me, I recall the fight where the banker (played by Lohman) and the old gypsy lady get into a fight in her car (can be seen here, warning it's a bit on the gross side) had us all laughing like we were on shrooms. The part where the staple pops out of the gypsy's eye and then the gypsy bites her only to remember her false teeth had fallen out and so puts them back in her mouth before trying again almost had me literally falling out of my seat from laughing so hard at the very idea that someone IMAGINED this scene and being impressed that the actors pulled it off with such straight faces, and I'd have felt horrible but the entire audience was roaring with laughter over it, too.

^^Lmao, "drag me to hell" was surprisingly entertaining to me. I just remembered the scene when the demon spits back out the cat that Christine had sacrificed, during the seance. And he starts mocking her lol.She really thought sacraficing her poor kitty would have actually lifted the curse lmao. the part where that old creepy lady started to chew on Christines mouth/chin in the car LOL gross!.And the nasty funeral scene ewwww..this movie was wickedly hilarious to me. I think I'm gonna watch it again in a few.

LOL NOW I WANNA WATCH IT AGAIN! I actually like that movie. Lots of my friends don't - they think it's dumb, but it was my impression that it wasn't supposed to be completely horror. Ironic horror? That's what I thought!

Not a scary movie, but a film that ALWAYS gets me is Precious.

Freddy Kruger scared the crap out of me when I was a wee one. Not even sure why we were allowed to watch those movies as it caused sleepless nights. It's funny now though.

I'm with T and others. I can't watch horror movies. I was 8 years old and Steven King's It was playing in the other room followed by Child's Play. I had a nightmare that my father died and his best friend was digging his grave. I have been unable to watch since then.

I do enjoy B-horror, the kind you can tell is completely fake and silly. I had a cat named Bruce Campbell once.

imo the only movies that are scary are ones with storylines that could actually happen or did happen, like the texas chainsaw massacre. most horror movies are too out there and unrealistic.

Horror movies dont really scare me except few.Video games with horror theme are the ones that have scared me,you know the moment you are concentrating on moving the character and out of nowhere they appear on the screen, heart in the mouth moment.

The Amityville Horror had me spooked for years and years. I always thought I'd see eyes in the window at night, I always expected slime to come out of the walls in the basement in my parent's house growing up. I don't know, it just left an indelible mark on me.

That, and most recently, Paranormal Activity.

In fact, I've vowed never to watch one of these again. Why? I mean, really? Why? To be freaked out? I have enough issues!!!!

I love (love love love) horror movies but it's hard for me to find ones that actually scare me. I will (really) enjoy them but actually getting scared is hard for me.

I do remember that The Blair Witch Project really freaked me out, especially the ending.

The two movies that come to mind aren't horror movies but one was psychologically disturbing and I love the director's movies in general (even though he's very controversial): Antichrist. Some people say that it's misogynistic and torture porn but I saw those scenes as metaphorical and the movie as a whole as being a very dark look at a two people's tortured psyches. It's shot beautifully too so if you love cinematography, you would enjoy it for that at least.

Weirdly, the movie that freaks me out the most is No Country for Old Men. The psychopath in that movie, Anton Chigurh, makes me feel an insane amount of dread (which is worse than fear to me because it involves the anticipation of fear). OMG and the haircut he had in that movie just made him ten times scarier. People think I'm crazy for thinking this is a scary movie but I truly find it far scarier than classic horror movies - and I've seen most of them. I think psychopaths (the criminal kind) in general frighten me way more than demons and zombies.

I looove zombies. I always want to give them a high five.

Seen alot of horror movies in my time, you name a horror movie and chances are I have probably seen it before. I am more partial to the older ones though, from the 70s an 80s are more my favorite before all the computer technology took over and really ruined it. One of my favorite ones is the original Halloween movie. Its so simple yet effective with its scare factor and with a very low budget, same thing with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre it was an independant film which over the years grew in popularity.

My favorite horror directors have to be Alfred Hitchcock, George Romero, and John Carpenter
