I'm kind of obsessed with glass: hand blown, artisan, crystal cut, stained glass...all kinds of glass.Care to join me in creating a gallery? IP: Logged |

19th century biscuit jar with silver-rim top: Edit: This piece is from Dorflinger Glass which is near our country property. Dorflinger used to supply glass to the U.S. Presidents. Their museum is lovely and oddly reminded my of my long-deceased grandparents; I suspect my paternal grandmother had a similar hand-cut glass collection, but I only vaguely remember. At any rate, as a Rabbit I love being surrounded by elegant things now and then. IP: Logged |

There's an arts center just down the road from me. Once a month, it has an open house and you can walk through all of the studios.I *love* the blown glass - it's like magic to me.

^ Aren't there any green emoticons here? I'm jealous! There used to be a Simon Pearce restaurant near us...you could watch the glassblowing downstairs (and get roasted from the heat of the furnaces) and then head upstairs to eat and drink from their hand-blown goblets. quote: Originally posted by mockingbird:
