I am 51.I have had the nice cars, the beautiful homes, kidz grown, trying to the the 21 yr old out of the nest... I am about to put my house on the market, cant take care of it anymore, too big. The plan: When the house sells I am going to help my youngest and her bfriend rent a home. I will shack up with my mother for a while, till my credit gets back to being excellent like is used to be. I will sell the sports car, keep the old truck at my mom's house for her or my daughters to use when they need a truck. I will buy a travel trailer and a bigger truck that can haul a small trailer. I will do travel nursing for a while, then settle at my grandpa's lake home in northern Indiana. My mother, my brother and myself agreed that we want to keep the house in the family as it has been in my grandpa's family since the early 1900's, well the property anyway. When my grandpa passes I will live at the lake. The big city has never appealed to me anyway and San Antonio is growing every day. I want the simple life..... My soul craves it~ Thanks for reading~ terri~ IP: Logged |

Why dont you want to leave her, at her age with a traditional mortgage, the house may outlive her. It's her choice and I am pro buying real estate,, you really cant loose on realestate. My house is my savings account.. Lots of people especially my mother dont understand why I have not invested in stocks, bonds, etc. but it is because of my job. As a RN if I ever were to be sued in Texas they cant take my house. They can take everything but they have to leave you with one car and one house. After I vagabond myself around, and the place I settle will be not mortgaged since it is part of the estate my grandpa will leave my mother, brother and I,, I will eventually buy something somewhere, for the tax write off if nothing else.

O. I will! I am tired this week from working on the house so much. Bfriend, not bfriend, whoever he is to me now did alot of work on it before he went back to Ohio, but there is still much to do. And I am doing it all myself. I am going for the wow curb appeal, the wow entrance into the living room then hopefully the little things wont matter so much. It is a beautiful home, I call her Mirkwood, after the forest in The Hobbit, cause the first time I looked at her the backyard was filled with spiders, rats, etc, lol! IP: Logged |

I think, one of the things that drives me is creating a simple life, but a quality one. It's difficult to describe, however, what if one does not have the gadgets, or simply uses those that others cast aside, to make something useful in the same way? A timely piece of knowledge can change everything. IP: Logged |

Yeah, it sounds like the perfect blend of earth and water scenery to go with those elements in your chart. Nothing is more relaxing to me than being near a body of water. Which is why I never live too far from a coast. I could not imagine living in the middle of the country. I think i'd die (though they have lakes out there...i guess, the ocean is what i prefer) Cannot wait to see and hear about life from you once you get up there and settled. Love the pic too. It reminds me of Lake Winnipesaukee and some other lakes in New England from when I was a kid. Doesnt get much better. I'm looking forward to finding a more peaceful quiet spot to set some roots myself.

Hi friends! A change of plans.Seeing a therapist now, for PTSD and depression. He just shook his head after taking page after page after page of my history.. He said, I have ptst, on ptsd, on ptst..... So, My new plan is to sell my home, and move up north to the lake. My grandpa still has he little cottage behind the main house. No plumbing, so I will move in there, small 600, sq feet, have a bathroom added and a kitchen sink plumbed. I will heal there body, mind and soul.... So excited!!! IP: Logged |
