Due to the highly personal nature of the Hearth And Home Forum, close bonds and friendships will form, and because of the intimate connectedness involved, special rules apply:1. The OP may request politely that members not post in the threads that they start. Out of respect for the OP, members will honor all such requests. 2. In cases of arguments, insults, and talking negatively of others, said threads shall be closed by a Mod or Admin. The Mods may issue warnings first before closing a thread, but this is at the Mods' discretion. The closing of the thread means that this is the end of the argument. Participants should move on and let it go. IP: Logged |

So, would a person start a thread and then if Person A comes in, just say they don't want her to do so, rather than list people at the beginning ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I just want to let other readers know that I've apologized to Randall for getting so upset earlier (although there were a lot of people who were way more upset than I was).Sometimes I just need to calm down and figure things out, and I usually hold my peace. But I let my temper flare this time, which I generally don't. Anyway, thank you for the new rule, Randall. IP: Logged |

You're welcome. I must say, I'm hopeful about the outlook regarding rule number one. I was clueless about the more intimate nature of this Forum and how different it is from the others, but live and learn.IP: Logged |

Better than the alternative. (Not learning, I mean.) IP: Logged |

I`m uncertain how the request rule will work out and feel uncomfortable with it`s application. I can`t imagine a thread where I would ask another publicly to be excluded. Then again, I expect others to realize they know the friction they have had and out of respect for self , not apply. Just seems odd but I guess all you can do is try and hope it works for the best interest of the forum. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. I'm sure it'll come with it's own issues. **IF** the rules of no slandering, jabbing, etc are upheld, it shouldn't be TOO bad. But, some here are very clever at playing little mind games and manipulation of loopholes to do it. We'll see I guess! I'm optimistic overall. IP: Logged |

Can't forget the people who will read into things the wrong way and are certain you mean, or are saying something else or your intentions are something they are not. I don't know how many times I've been accused of doing something I'm not doing or saying here. But no matter what people who have the wrong idea about you will take everything you say the worst way possible. And yes, there are people who play mind games here and it needs to stop. I can think of three off the top of my head who've been doing it to me for years. I've mostly ignored, but when I finally do speak up I get told things like I'm like a trigger happy PTSD vet. Some people are very sneaky about it. Also the exaggeration needs to stop. When you've mainly ignored someone for years and then get told that for six years you've been nonstop bullying the person which is an outright lie, it's gets to be a little much. I don't appreciate it when I have gone out of my way to avoid people and then get accused of such exaggerated lies. There's really no way to stop people from being sneaky and unless you are that person and have experienced it firsthand, you might not recognize when it's happening to another. When I do post here you can be certain that I will avoid a few people here and will definitely not be posting anything that has to do with them in any form whatsoever. I have zero interest in playing these passive aggressive games that some seem to enjoy here. I'd appreciate anyone who doesn't like me, do the same. I don't need it and will do my best to completely ignore it from now on. IP: Logged |

T, seriously. You should just edit all of that out and don't even waste your energy on it. Please. This thread's about rules, can we keep it that way for once. Sounds good to me, Randall. I hope it all works out for the best. IP: Logged |

I'm not wasting energy on it. I felt like it needed to be pointed out and don't think there's anything wrong in doing so. Yes, the thread is about rules. I was quoting someone talking about them and expanding on what they said. And this is exactly what I'm talking about - please don't read into what I wrote the wrong way or like I'm looking to start something. I'm not. And I'm done talking about it if you are. IP: Logged |

Whatever you say. You know he'll see it and you'll get upset at his response and then it'll just go back and forth. But alright, I hope you have a nice day. IP: Logged |

Huh? If you are talking about ag and the PTSD thing, that was an example. It is in no way intended to be anything more than that and does not need a response from him about it at all. I don't really mind him for the most part, but I don't appreciate comments like that either. There's no need for him to respond to it.IP: Logged |

I did have to wonder if he knows - has read here that I suffer from PTSD. But at this point, I don't care. These are the little types of remarks I am talking about here though. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and think that me most likely was not aware of that. Joking about vets and PTSD is probably not the nicest thing to do anyway.IP: Logged |

I am as well and guess that is why I am still at Lindaland after all these years. I do hope others can read something they don`t like and simply pass it over. Like they do in real life; just gracefully move on and interact from a higher level. We all do it in the world, so let`s give it a try here

I think the rules are really good. A person can breathe a sigh of relief that they don't have to deal with people who have been a source of problems to them!------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Tricky one including arguments in that. What one person would consider an "argument" another might call a "debate". Differences of opinion are what keeps a forum alive and interesting, imo. IP: Logged |

Slight modification suggestion, unless I missed it and it's already stated. Might be nice if even later on into the thread, the op decides that they don't want someone posting in there. They could edit the first post of the thread as well as directly letting the other user know, but some cases they may simply change their mind even if the other user never posts in the thread. Especially nice would be at the top or bottom of the first post. That way it's never lost somewhere in one of the pages. It's always easy to find and very clear. Any user who comes into a thread in HH can just glance and see right away. Might be more of a courtesy type of thing, but sure would make things very simple and clear. IP: Logged |
