Topic: I am devastated--The doctors messed up my father

It was one doctor. I am so broken up. My father should have gotten a second opinion but really, I think he did not want to make the doctor mad  This guy butchered his hip. He is in agony and they have him on Oxycotin. He is the type that never complains--Cancer ASC with Cancer Moon and mars in the 12th. My mother says he is screaming in agony. I just can't get it out of my mind. ------------------

Thank you RandallYou know what feels awful? I tried to help him with natural means. I told him to go to the Wheatgrass Institute.
People just won't think for themselves. They want the "safety" of the doctors.
There is no safety. Look at you. You dealt with your blood pressure with natural means, not drugs.
I mean, trying to educate people about natural methods feels so futile and then you see what happens when people won't listen and your heart breaks.

Sorry to hear that happened.Someone I know had a problem with an operation due to the dr not knowing properly what was going on. It was very bad at first but she is improved a lot since not long after. Hope it turns out it gets better soon like this for your dad. IP: Logged |

Oh no So sorry to hear that. I think getting second opinions depending on the situation, and the type of doctor are pretty important. Next time, if there's ever a next time, you make sure you stress the importance. Make sure you tell him to not overuse those OxyContins. I used to work in a pharmacy and the amount of people who overuse those things is incredible. Tell him to only use them when he really needs them, they are very strong and highly addictive. Not to mention they're also narcotics meaning you have to wait so many days to be able to refill them because they're regulated and many will do anything to get more, and I mean anything. It has another scenario behind the scenes that haunts me. The scenario is that he was always a wimp. He would never stand up. He had an abusive wife( my mother) and he sucked up and up and up. Now, he was too much of a wimp to get a second opinion so this idiot butchered him. I don't think he wanted to make the guy mad by getting a second opinion. That is so pitiful.

I just called the doctor. I was so strong. You would not believe. He is calling me back and I have my list of questions for him. We have several doctors in the family so that won't make him happy lol------------------

I just talked to the doctor. I was very strong and very direct and asked all my questions. I had the situation wrong and this man is a genuine caring doctor who has great respect for my father. I could tell that.
They were not giving him enough medication after surgery and that is why he was "screaming all night" They are going to do so now and I hope that he will be on the mend. Thank you so much to everyone who responded to this thread. That is the heart of community!------------------

I can't imagine aCancer Asc not Complaining! That appears to be their raison d'etre!And Yes the first few days after hip surgery can be excruciating. Not all medicine is bogus, though i have seen doctors try to minimize patients fears by underplaying the after effects. ..to their horror when they came to! ...glad he's mending. IP: Logged |
