I love Tudor history, so read anything that looks good about Henry the 8th and his wives--fiction and non.

I am reading Jean Plaidy, now. She is a well known writer in this field

I am almost fluent in Spanish. I may be able to say fluent but I sound like a dumb azz.

I was studying Hebrew but my teacher went back to Israel, so I stopped.

Hebrew was amazing. You know that you can't swear in Hebrew lol

Hebrew used to give me a supernatural kind of peace but studying langauges makes me feel like I am meditating.

I decided to not to Hebrew and do Spanish instead cuz it is more usuable in daily life.

Just discovered an amazing author--Victoria Holt. She reminds me of Madeline L'Engle, my most beloved author when I was a child, the author of 'A Wrinkle in Time"

I've received three books treating of micro expressions:
two being made by Paul Ekman, the psychologist who first discovered them, and I must say that I am literally obsessed with them.
The information is A-MA-ZING.
It's also the first three english books I have in my library (all of the others are in french)

Thank you ^.^
I'd say that 70% of my day is spent in English (either listening, writing or talking) so I ended up quite fluent (can't even remember words in french sometimes ahah)
as for micro expressions, these are very brief (fraction of a second) facial expressions hinting at one's own emotional state.
The amazing thing is that they cannot be concealed, or not very well, especially when your brain is already occupied at creating a story...
They are part of the nonverbal area of communication (facial expressions, gesture, tone of voice etc.)
The way you'll position yourself, gesticulate or move, the small twitch of your face (frowning, smiling, narrowing your eyes), but also stretching yourself, crossing your arms, pulling your ears or touching your nose when talking are all part of micro expressions and when taken in a bunch (at least three concording) they can successfully indicate the feeling that someone is experiencing.
Not only simple as disgust, happiness or anger, but also interest, lies, insecurity, intimidation, if they think you are stupid or uninteresting.

There are also many studies hinting that the "famous women's intuition" is, in fact, a natural talent that women possess in reading the body language (brought from their role as a mother and caring for their babies, which cannot express his needs vocally) enabling them to unconsciously see a lack of concordance between what someone says and what their body is actually telling.

However, as I said before, it takes a bunch of them.
It's not because someone is crossing his arms, for example, that his mind is closed to what you are saying.
However if he is not facing you, has crossed his legs away from you, crossed his arms, tilted his head away and even pinched his lips, you have a very clear message that it is time for you to s**t up lol.

I studied Hebrew until my teacher moved back to Israel. She told me that you had to go to another language to swear.

I wanted to share something about books. I am reading a book in which Jane Austen is a detective. It is set in her time period. Victorian novels move so slowly that it is peaceful. My aunt loved them for this reason. Time was so different then. The books slow you down!

Well, I guess it depends on how you define swearing.
