I know I'm too old to play the Sims, but I don't care. I don't play the latest one (Sims 4), it looks a bit lame without expansion packs and no open world. I played Sims 3 but it lagged terribly. I always go back to Sims 2. I create custom characters and sometimes fall in love with a few of the male ones.

What an embarrassing confession! I'm pathetic!

Anyway, do you play? Or is there some other game you enjoy playing but are too embarrassed to tell anyone?!

I have Sims 3 and all expansion packs. I haven't experienced any problems with it or crashing. Maybe you should update your Patch.

I think it's because my worlds (which I made) are absolutely huge and probaby have routing problems. Actually the other worlds I play are fine.

I still prefer Sims 2 though, I couldn't get attached the pudding faces in Sims 3.

The graphics of 3 are better. With a few mods, it's quite realistic looking.

Besides, I love the Supernatural..so that Exp pack is my fav not to mention to be able to travel to Egypt, France or China. Def prefer 3 to 2.

That's just my preference..not like I've actually played in a long while.

Oh my goodness! I used to lose whole weekends to the sims
It was a while ago now, 1 and 2, never got into 3, I eventually had to give it up..I was too obsessive. Not an embarrassing confession at all..I bet I was older than you at the time too

Edit...as I'm just remembering how I used to try and create the perfect man/couple, lol, oh fun times! Thankyou for helping me remember that

I really got into Sims 3 for the "create a world" thing and building (built lots of stuff, houses as well as community lots). I also enjoyed playing the Ambitions EP with the careers. There was a modder called Twallan who made tons of gameplay mods which improved the game no end, but he retired and abandoned his projects before the end of the Sims 3 updates, which meant I couldn't really play my game unless I removed all his mods.

I tried to get into the actual sims in Sims 3 but they just didn't grab me and I never got past 2nd generation. I think with Sims 2 I started playing the game late (when all the EP's had been released and there a lot of custom content and mods made by other people), so I had lots to do from the word go (and had a lot of fun with it).

Sorry that was a long-winded post!

I've played Sims for years! I have the newest version - it is Sims 4?

It's good fun - I like decorating and building houses. I don't play that often, probably about once a month.

I'm way more addicted to World of Warcraft which I play daily.

lol. I never played WoW but I played Rift, Archeage and Everquest II a fair bit.

Actually I'm a shameless Steam-aholic. Summer sale on now too. That won't do my addiction any good.

Funnily enough as soon as I started talking about the Sims, my Sims 2 game totally exploded today. Hood corruption you know. Oh well, it lasted a good 4 years.

I was just posting my hood explosion experience on a well known simming forum.

Boy there are some seriously anally retentive people over there. They're more robotic than their sims!

It's not boring AG if you add mods. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

Not to mention the first Sims is lame. Start with Sims 2, and skip Sims 3 if you hate the dough faces, but if you wanna be "in" get Sims 4.

I play The Sims 4, I used to play The Sims 2. Good games. Sims 4 has good graphics but sometimes feels "missing". They're improving on it though with more and more updates!

I've played all of them. Still love them even though sims 4 is not as great as I wish but still worth playing. I remember once when I was in the 11th grade my boyfriend dumped me and all I could think was "Now I get to play sims 3 all weekend!" The heartbreak set in a few days later though...lol

The only time I've played Sims, I always made the most huge and posh manor one could find, before making a family of like 2 - 6, using cheats all the way or killing them in different ways
I remember, in the xbox version, that you could grow a mutant plant that eventually ate my maid

Play all four series, every couple of months. Liked the 'story' neighbourhoods from 2, all the expanded game play in 3 and the clean cut appearance or graphics in 4. Still play all three and medieval sometimes, though that one gets rather repetitive quickly.

I was up for 24 hours, was falling asleep in the shower, and fell asleep on the couch, only to wake up over an hour later. I had this thread open earlier, because I follow someone who has been playing the Sims 4, but I've never played any of them. I have a bunch of free games, but have wanted things I can't get yet, like Cult of the Lamb. I think I need a switch for that, too, which is just not happening yet, if ever.

I still need to get a controller for Little Nightmares.
