In this Forum (and this Forum only), you may request that member(s) may not respond on your threads. Likewise, you should not address those members within the threads in question (other than to note their nonparticipation). And there shall be no opening of threads of one's own to circumvent this Rule and thus respond in kind to said threads. By posting in this Forum, you consent to the above. IP: Logged |

How will you handle those who may gossip about another member requested to not post? Rather it`s by name or by known inference? ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

The Rule actually addresses that. You may only mention them to politely exclude them from the thread.IP: Logged |

The premise is that since it's mainly a shout-out Forum, no one should have someone on their thread if they don't get along. IP: Logged |

Thanks. I didn't think you would expect it, but I just wanted to make sure it was known, since I've had assumptions made about me before. IP: Logged |

Juni, this has been the rule here for months now. I just wanted to clarify it with its own thread, because the threads which determined the rule have been pushed down.IP: Logged |

Yes, Lexx. That's the definition anyone who looked it up on the internet could see (and more ).Knowing the history of people here, most can interpret which meaning was meant. And it was meant to be vague, hurtful and left as a guess the interpretation. Certainly what Juni said: quote: teasel, !! I can`t imagine too many doing so but you ,in particular, is unimaginable!!
That comment should not evoke " exasperation or disbelief". Especially in this case. It was meant in the other ways. Most of us know charmaine doesnt like teasel and so who, knowing that, wouldn't take it as a sarcastic comment? then... quote: Originally posted by Charmaine: What did it say? Lol!
Just like someone exclaiming "Sh*t!" in English slang language could mean a myriad of things, it appears Eish! reads the same way. Thing is, it's not hard to tell how a word was meant after a certain comment by/about certain people.
Juni's comment was not shocking, or it shouldn't have surprised anyone. It was her opinion and there was nothing startling or unsettling about it. So, "Eish!" would be a weird comment to make if meant innocently. The fact that charmaine LOL'ed and asked: "What did it say"? Instead of clarifying because she already knew, is telling too. She has to know all the meanings of it and clearly wasn't concerned if it came across the wrong way. I'm pretty sure it was meant to. We know these two have a weird history and that one doesnt like the other at all. anyway, I think I should keep taking long breaks from this place. The BS is almost unbearable. IP: Logged |

If anything, juni's comment would probably make anyone want to say something like "I agree!". Not exclaim a word that is not understood here readily in the US and has so many different meanings, then when someone mentioned looking it up, laughing out loud instead of explaining that no harm was actually meant and making sure the others knew that. Cut the sh*t. IP: Logged |

Don't pick on my friend. She's been through enough sh*t. Nevermind that you all know there's a history of bullying. Try to have some sensitivity.IP: Logged |

Thanks, T. I wasn't sure if that had been directed at me, or the main post (regarding the rules). I've known it as an expression of exasperation. IP: Logged |

I took it as a response to you - or what Juni said. Especially after Juni mentioning having to look up the word and the response being one of amusement (immaturity and insensitivity as per usual). The definition does seem to be mainly about exasperation, which doesnt fit as a response to the comment above it. Nor to the initial post. And it's something that if not meant in that way, should have easily and quickly been clarified. When you know you are speaking your native slang to people who don't know your slang, you might want to clarify what was meant instead of just giggling it off. Especially knowing people might take it the wrong way, have to look it up and it seemed directed at someone you've had issues with in the past. The fact that you let it slide the way you did shows that you liked the idea of people not knowing what you really meant. When most of us are perceptive enough and know the history enough to figure it out. A kind person would have explained and not made the comment you did and ran off.Use your big girl words. The passive aggressive cutse-y thing is really old and makes you look like an idiot. Had it been about the initial post and if teasel's feelings mattered, I'd think it would've been pointed out right away. Instead you let it go and then your idiot boyfriend joined in. to you teasel. I'll hold back on saying what i'd really like to say. & i can only base my comments on years of experience with said people and vibes. One member who is also adept at picking up on these things warned me that this can be a blessing and a curse. The curse part is speaking up about it. Not everyone does. IP: Logged |
