Have you ever heard of it?
Also called the "10-step Korean Skincare Routine", but I don't necessarily like that name, since it can go from 10 to 17 steps depending on the products you have.

I don't know if you know this, but Korea is actually pioneer in the skin care department, what with not being afraid of using some... extravagant products. Such as Snail Mucin, Honey, red wine, bamboo and the likes.
And seriously, have you ever seen korean girl with less than flawless skin? Because I'm still looking for one
But anyway, back to topic:

The Korean Routine is an extensive care that can feel a bit extreme, but it all boils down to cleansing, exfoliating, treating, intensely moisturizing and applying plenty of SPF during the day.
I think the main difference is that Korean are taught very young to take very good care of their skin, where as Americans (or others I don't want to generalize) will start later, mostly to try and revert the damage done in teens years.

I don't know how I got started into this. My skin has always been a bit fickle and oily. It can look amazing a day, and the other I'll feel like I've passed under sandpaper or something.
I had the basics products: cleanser, toner and moisturizer and I was looking to treat my skin a bit better and happened to encounter an article about the "magical 10 steps korean routine."
What convinced me was the following: "if you're going to spend 30 minutes in the morning slapping on makeup on your face, you should spend the same amount of time to take it off and actually thank your skin for enduring your atrocious products all day."

So I looked around, found a website that is now stickied on my browser address bar and named "my goldmine" (since it sells exclusive korean brand products from L.A (Living in Canada, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg for shipping directly from korea)) and took a head first dive into the unknown that was "extensive skin care"

I had (and still possess) my original gel cleanser, toner and moisturizer with an fps of 15, but since added a couple of other products. (oil cleanser, ampoule, eye cream and essence)

It is not a cheap skin care routine, let me tell you, but it's worth every penny and I find it enjoyable and relaxing.

My opinion is that chemical SPFs are not good for the skin, at all. There are natural oils you can use like carrot oil and others. There is a mineral make up that has a natural sunscreen from the minerals. I use this.

The only problem I have with SPF contained in make up is that, oftentimes, you don't apply enough makeup to make the protection relevant and end up with too little to truly make a difference.

Otherwise, I agree with you, though I do not use natural SPFs x).
