Jupiter indicates the individuals awareness of morals and of religious, ethical, social, cultural and educational values, tradition and goals. The extent to which the individual is aware of these things and how much they aspire to a more noble way of life is determined by the position of and the aspects to Jupiter in the horoscope. Since social traditions and values can vary widely, the individuals culteral, social, religious and ecomomic background must be considered when Jupiters influence in the horoscope is evaluated. What is socially and morally acceptable in one culture may not be in another. However, because certain basic precepts of justice and spiritual truth are universally accepted, such differences are generally superficial.

The sign position of Jupiter shows the manner in which you express your values and beliefs, the house position shows the practical affairs of life influenced by these beliefs.

Jupiter in the chart also shows in what ways you can grow and expect greater enrichment in the affairs of your life, to the extent that Karma allows. You can achieve this only to the extent to which your actions are just and well motivated. Because life is a cooperative endeavor, all growth and expansion depends on the good will and cooperation of others, and this can only be gained through ethical behavior on your part. Thus the principle of growth and expansion is linked through your relations with the social order, and both come under the rulership of Jupiter. The large endeavors of civilazation must be concerned with and support the overall well being of society as a whole.

Jupiter also rules institutions and professions concerned with cultural rules and traditions, such as Universities, Churches, charitable institutions, and the legal profession. Jupiter rules all codification of thought and rules of conduct. The ways in which these affect your life is shown by the sign and house positions and aspects to Jupiter.

If Jupiter is well aspected, you will benefit from culteral traditions and be well adjusted. If Jupiter is afflicted, you will be in conflict with traditional social order, or insincere and hypocritical in their relations to it.

Jupiter/Fire The individual can become a leader in cultral affairs. The self confidance of these people enables them to attempt large scale endeavors. However, their egos canprevent their taking an objective and unbiased view of reality or blind them to the whole truth to a situation. They can inspire enthussiasm and confidance in others. Should an endeavor fail, they always manage to find a new field for growth and expansion. They are seldom daunted by disappointment or defeats.

Jupiter/Earth here a practical approach is taken to religion, philosophy, education and social tradition. These people judge these matters by their practical results: unless their is measurable benefit, they will not be interested. If this tendency is carried to extremes, material things can become an end in themselves rather than an means to an end, and thus thwart the spiritual purpose of the individuals life.

Jupiter/Air here you adopt an intellectual approach to philosophy, education and social traditions. Generally well informed and knowledgeable about these matters. There is the desire to circulate widely in order to experience as many life styles, traditions, and culteral ideas as possible. As a result, you are well informed in making choices for yourself. Fond of philosophical discussions and debate. If the intellectual tendencies of these Jupiter placements are carried to extremes, you are apt to have an impractical, theortical approach to life. Tou tend to play lip service to exalted ideas, but neglect to put them into practice.

Jupitr/Water You are likely to have strong emotional ties to family traditions and the values of the culture in which you are raised. You have deep feeling, compassion, and understanding for others. However, moral and social values can be biased in favor of the familiar and emotionally comfortable. Care must be taken to not let your feelings interfere with a balanced picture of any social or moral issue.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be.
