Which transits move clockwise and which counterclockwise?I have made some mistakes about this assuming that everything moves counterclockwise as do the house numbers on the astrowheel... but this doesn't seem to be the case... some things are going clockwise (ex: moving from house 6 to house 5)... So which of the planets, points and asteroids if you know, are moving counterclockwise while in direct motion and which are moving clockwise while in direct motion? IP: Logged |

^ If you're looking at just the progressed chart, not progressed and natal, the planets (not the Moon) will move backwards through the houses. This is significant, here's a link to help with interpretation: http://www.dkfoundation.co.uk/dkfoundation/BookTransitsAndProgressions.htmOn the other hand, you might be referencing retrogrades. This is when a planet appears to be moving backward in the zodiac, which is not technically true, but it's recorded that way. Retrograde planets moved back in degrees, move forward, and may move backwards again and forwards again for months at a time, depending on which body you're talking about. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/gl/retrograde.html IP: Logged |

Looking at transits so I guess I mean progressed charts.Just that for example Jupiter moves in the motions 1->2->3 (counter clockwise) through the houses but NN is moving 3->2->1 (clockwise) through the houses... I just assumed all of them were moving 1-2-3... so just wondering if there are any others that move clockwise like NN... I will have a look at your links, Thank you! IP: Logged |

The NN isn't a planet, and you're right it does 'travel' in a backwards motion. It takes roughly a yr to transit a sign, from 30 degrees to 0.IP: Logged |

Oops... yes, not a planet... writing without thinking...But is the NN the only thing that travels clockwise (other than retrogrades) or are there other things that also travel in that direction that I haven't noticed yet? IP: Logged |

Nope, all progressions should not be read as stand alones either, but read on the outside of natal... when viewed like this they move anti clockwise, just like transits, solar arcs etc. IP: Logged |
