When two or more planets are within 10 degrees of each other they form an aspect called a conjunction. This is a blend, combining the energy of the planets and expanding. Put the Sun conjunct anything and it will be colored by the planet making the conjunction.

example: Sun in Scorpio conjunct Neptune. This will give the otherwise Plutonian nature of Scorpio a Piscean flavor. Where as Scorpio is normally always "in control" the Neptune nature is more lax, less controlling, and has an active fantasy life (daydreaming etc.) One thing about Plutonian energy is its not afraid of depth. It can come back from rock bottom and rebuild. Thats what regeneration is all about (like the Phoenix). We all have a point of no return where our actions disgust us and many signs can not live with the guilt, but Scorpio can. Add Neptune to the picture and they will find a way to escape, usually through drugs or alcohol. That is one way of not having to face a problem.

another example: Sun in Virgo conjunct Mars in Virgo, here the mental energy of Virgo is combined with the aggresive nature of Mars giving the Sun an Aries flavor. Now they won't act like an Aries per se in that they have to be first and are usually a bit inconsiderate (a very Aries trait), instead you will find a Virgo who is confident, sticks up for themselves and refuses to be taken advantage of.

My question for you is what planets are conjunct in in your natal? List them and make sure you list the house also. Give an example of how you think they blend.

Very Good Astromis,
Now give me an idea of how your 3rd house Jupiter/Uranus in Sag works. How do these 2 planets blend for you. (there are no wrong answers)

I am going to try and give this a go:

Sun conjunct Mercury in Libra, both in the 6th house.

I find that my identity (Sun) and my communication (Mercury) are so closely intertwined because of that conjunction. I identify so much with my thoughts, ideas and opinions. My thoughts are the center of my being. Therefore, when someone challenges my views or ideas on a certain topic, I take it as a personal threat, and thus become extremely defensive and verbally combative.

Venus in Virgo conjunct Mars, both in the 6th house.

I find I am drawn to people who have aggressive personalities (Scorpios, Aries); it is as if they are a mirror image of how I am supposed to be. It rather pushes me to act more aggressively, in a twisted way. With both planets, being in Virgo it is as though I take on traits that are not of a typical Virgo. Sure, I still am extremely analytical, but take on more traits of an Aries. Both planets are so diverse male (Mars) and female (Venus), Venus being loving and nurturing, Mars being hot and intensified. I find that it sometimes makes it difficult, because it is an enormous contradiction.

Neptune in Capricorn the 9th Conjunct the Midheaven.

This one is somewhat hard... Well, I know that Neptune is associated with dreams, meditation...etc. and the Midheaven represents behavior in society or business that is based on one’s self image. Now, because Neptune is on the Midheaven, it rather adds a dream-like quality to work, but that is countered because of the Capricorn influence. With the Capricorn influence, I find that it makes me motivated and grounded and that dreaminess quality is close to nonexistent.
Pluto in Scorpio in the 7th house conjunct the South Node in Scorpio in the 7th house.

I find because of this conjunction it is going to be harder for me to conquer. It is as though I am drawn to people whom I am going to get into power struggles with, or whom are just the exact opposite of how I am. In an odd way, those people try to bring out the bad traits of my South Node. The only way I’m going to beat this is if I stop being such as private person or “mysterious and secretive” as I have been called, and try to be a little more open.
With this placement is karma coming back to bite me in the butt or what...

I thinking these planets blend in my gaining of information. When I gain a little information on something that intrigues me, I become a little obessesed. For example, I learned about medical astrology in one of my university classes and that lead me to search online for astrology information... and here I am. I feel the need to explore and gain knowledge (Jupiter) unexpectedly (Uranus) in intellect (house 3). As for them being in Sag I think this blending gives me a need to understand spiritual issues (jupiter) and express them (Uranus).

hmm..conjunctions,lessee..
i've got my cappy venus conjunct my cappy jupiter in the 10th house, venus ruling among other things money, and jupiter being the planet of luck and expansion, and the 10th house ruling career among other things, i'd say this is a good position for being a career woman
i've got my scorpio mars conjunct both my scorpio saturn and pluto (all in the 8th house) which lal says is a very strong mars and i add that is the reeason for my burning interest in the occult, the 8th house ruling ocuult subjects...also maybe i'll have something to do with inheritance, and probably play a part in my partner earning money another conjunction i have is my cappy jupiter in the 10th conjunct my cappy neptune in the 9th..i'm guessing this is another aspect which aids me on the path to spirituality..
oh,i've also got my cappy midheaven conjunct my cappy venus in the 10th,cappy jupiter in the 10th and cappy neptune in the 9th,but since i really don know much about the mid heaven,i don know how to interpret these..

as lal and randall will remember,i got all confused when my astro.com chart showed that my saggy moon formed conjuctions to my cappy planets..lal told me that when using a 10 degree orb, such aspects can occur, and to take them into account if they add insight for me.well,i used only the aspects and grant lewi's interpretation seemed to fit me...but lal also said the aspects of my Moon modify the pure sign/house meaning, so i'm not sure how to interpret these conjunctions along with the houses...
my sag moon in the 9th house conjuncts my cappy mercury in the 10th, cappy jupiter in the 10th, cappy neptune in the 9th and cappy MC.anyone care to interpret these?

p.s. lal,are you using the equal house system?i find that's the system which adds most insight for me...

the rain goes pitter patter, pitter patter..
my brain is all in a scatter...
you don't mind?
then i guess it won't matter ;)

great work!

Oceanic dreams I think the word you're looking for is competitive, especially with Mercury in this case, Once you learn their game you beat them at it. Mind chess.
Venus and Mars in Virgo is very attractive and one of the best for attracting others.
Neptune conjunct the MC this is also your most elevated planet and VERY artistic. These people have the ear, many can play and instrument by ear, and have a natural flair for coordinating fabrics, colors etc. There is a certain joy in artistic pursuits here.
Clint Eastwood has this, I know we think of him as "Dirty Harry" but did you know he could have easily persued a musical career, he is an accomplished piano player. Oh well acting also falls under Neptune

Astromis11 Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Sag. in the 3rd, I like this. First Jupiter is home in Sag, and so benevolent here. I usually feel that a planets stregnth is strongest in its sign of exaltation (some astrologers disagree) But not Jupiter, here you have the sage who can turn himself into whatever works to get to the truth. With Uranus (being the higher octave of Mercury) We're talking genius. Learning is fun and easy

Goober Venus/Jupiter in Capricorn in the 10th House. Money is important, and so is status. Don't let it become too important. Your Venus qualities shine, and you know what your worth.
8th house Mars, Pluto and Saturn I'm going to hold off on this interpretation untill we get to stelliums.

Great work you guys, I am so proud of all the effort your giving me. You're going to be astrological Stars

I use placidius, only because that is the way I learned, if you were born way up north/south where a placidius chart could have 50 or 60 degees, I would use the equal house system. Its just preference, as we learn more you can decide for yourself which you prefer.

Moon conjunct Venus and South Node.
Mercury, Ceres, Chiron and Sun all conjunct.
Uranus conjunct Ascendant.

I'll have to come back and add my thoughts another time.

I have my Sun conjunct Mercury and Mars. However, Mercury is in the 4th house while my Sun and Mars are in the 5th.

Then I have Venus conjunct Neptune in the 3rd house.

I'm a bit confused about how to interpret my Sun/Mars/Mercury conjunction because they fall in differing house. I think this combination makes me competitive and very thought driven. My ideas are central to my identity and maybe I have a bit of a superiority complex in that area, lol. My Mercury is in Capricorn, so I'm very methodical in my thinking, Mars makes me agressive in expressing them I think... Mars in Aquarius makes them offbeat and quirky, and a tad idealistic. Quality of life and love is very important to me, and I will stop at nothing to was I feel is 1st, best, greatest for myself in love... I think that is true from my Sun and Mars in the 5th also.

Let's see, I have a lot of conjunctions in my chart, but I'll take the closest ones:

Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, all in Capricorn and the 7th house- Saturn at 11.2 degrees, Uranus 4.3, Neptune at 11.4.

Venus in Aquarius in the 10th house at 27 degrees, Midheaven in Aquarius at 26 degrees.

Annnd Pisces Sun in the 10th house at 6 degrees conjunct my Piscean North Node at 4 degrees, in the 10th house as well.

How these blendings affect me- well, that's the thing, I'm not really sure. Hmm. Well, the very close conjunction between my Neptune and Saturn in Capricorn might give me big, practical dreams? Or maybe rather my generation, since Neptune is more of a generational planet.

I have a stellium in Scorp but they are in different houses so I have a hard time interpreting them.
The Sun's closes conjunction is with Pluto and they are in the 1st house (equal house system). I guess that would enhance some of my Scorpionic traits, since Pluto rules Scorp and it's in the 1st. But then wouldn't this strong aspect be over shadowed by my Ascendant and Venus 1st?
Then the next conjunction is with Saturn 2nd house. I really don't understand the 2nd house much, but from what I've read the conjunction would make appear serious/controlled and melancholy.
The next conjunction in the 2nd house is with Mercury. The conjunction to mercury would give me the ability to concentrate deeply and investigate.
I still don't know how to interpret these in the 2nd house though.

I have my chart, from Astro. com, it lists planets/signs/houses, but not aspects. I know that once I've learned how to interpret all those #s, degrees and symbols it should be simple to look at the wheel and know this. The next step I think is to get you a copy of the chart I have, or I gotta learn how to do it.

Still happily learning ~ So much to absorb! Love it!!! Thanks for all the patience with this newbie!

Hi D~

ok, go back to astro.com and pull up your chart, from the "extended charts"section, after your chart is up, you will notice that on the right hand side a few inches from the top there will be highlighted in BLUE, something like "click here for addtional charts or tables" anyways click that and it will pull up a table showing all your aspects.............I hope I made sense here......anyways, I'll never forget how excited I was when I first stumbled across this!!! Huge, huge, huge for someone first learning!

I will just do a couple of mine

I have Sun Conjunct mars (both in Leo) 11th house-

This would make me competitive, aggressive and energetic with the ability to be a leader. Probably means i lkie to be right and can be blunt when not agreed with. I think with Leo it would also say creative and fond of physical activities...

Venus conjunct Uranus
Venus conjunct Asc.
In the 1st (Libra)
Makes me very Libra looking, exuding all they typical Libra traits of personality with the added ability of being able to socially blend in with any group (Uranus) also make me stand out from a crowd (??)

Lalalinda-
thanks for all the great teaching and encouragement!

Here are mine:

Moon conjunct Chiron
Mercury Conjunct Saturn
Mars Conjunct Uranus
Saturn Conjunct Pluto

I'm not going to touch the Chiron one as I'm still learning about it and pretty much clueless about it.

Mercury Conjunct Saturn...mercury is communication and intellect, and Saturn has a limiting nature...I'd say it inhibits my communication and intellect in some way. Would I not be as verbally expressive? I would also think that I'm very serious in my communication.

Mars Conjunct Uranus...Mars is energy, strength...Uranus is uniqueness and sudden changes. Wow, this one seems strange...Would this mean I have erratic energy levels? Unique energy and strength...hmm I'm a bit confused on this one. Sounds like it'd make me erratic and have trouble following routine, as if I would bore easily.

Saturn conjunct Pluto: wow! 2 powerful planets. That limiting, serious Saturn again, with Pluto that is all about power, determination and renewal. Sounds like I'd have an intense desire for change and need to excel. Very ambitious sounding conjunction!

I know that's starting small, I'd like to get to where I'm comfortable interpreting aspects with the signs and houses they're in. I hope I've done okay so far!

I have quite a few, too.

Sun conj. Merc in Gemini (8th):
thoughts and ego are intertwined, hard to take critique on what I say or do as "constructive criticism" because I see that as a direct affront to my ego. I find it also makes me a really bad writer, for a gemini, because I take for granted that that which I write will be taken as it is meant at face value, but as I continuously see on internet forums, that just isn't the case. Could also be the natal MercRX though. And I write in half-finished sentences, because that's how I think lol Being in the 8th house gives that what I say more depth than a typical gemini would have (??), or at least, make it seem so to myself (ego). I also like to talk about metaphysical things (esoteric).

Mars conj. Jupiter in Aries (6th):
I'm not sure how to interpret this one. I am very energetic about my work, and I NEED to have a job to be happy. The worst years of my eating disorder were the 6 years that I spent at home with my son. I need the stress and the variety of working. I'm also pretty lucky with my work, I love what I do. I'm very single-minded about working now, and have pushed my goals through my family balking at me going to work. I found a job, organised an au pair and presented my husband with the results (mars). And everything has turned out well (jupiter). I definitely am very much arian in that pursuit!

Chiron conj. Jupiter in Aries (6th):
I read that Chiron in the 6th can point to eating disorders. The conjunction with jupiter would point to bulimia (my problem area) rather than anorexia.

Venus conj. MC:
As a libra rising and a taurus moon, Venus is (IMHO) the most important planet in my chart. Straddling the MC would mean to me that beauty and harmony and arts are important in my career. I spend my working life organising events, was on tour with artists for 2 years. I'm very lucky in that I always end up working for very harmonious people/companies. I have turned down more than one job offer because I had the feeling that work would be a 9-5 hierarchal fight.

Last but not least,
Uranus conj. AC in libra
My son has this, too (in Aqua). I find this gives a slightly ADD feel to the whole chart. In my son's case, as it is also the chart ruler and in it's sign, it turns into full-blown ADD.

I have Mars in Sag conjunction Saturn in Capricorn in the 10th, so I guess I can use my energy constructively and towards my career. I also have my Saturn in conjunction with Neptune in Saturn in the 10th but I'm not sure what to make of that one. Constructive daydreaming perhaps? ^_^;; Moon in Aquarius conjunction Mercury in Aquarius, I guess I can communicate my emotions really well but.. Moon in Aquarius isn't typically very emotional, right? Moon and Mercury are in the 12th House.

The first conjunction I have in my chart is in the 4th House. My Neptune and Uranus are conjunct in Capricorn. But this is kind of generational, so I'm not exactly sure how it affects me personally other than my home life (thus far, I'm only 15) has been very rough. We move a lot, had to leave everything behind, and at the same time, I can't help but have the sense that it was wonderful.

The second I have is between Jupiter and Chiron in Cancer in my 10th house. I'm honestly not sure how that affects me at all. I know next to nothing about Chiron.

My final conjunction is between Jupiter (Cancer, 10th House), and my MC (Gemini). I don't think I yet have enough life experience to know how that will affect me.

Sun in the 1st Conjunct Ascendant
------
I guess I do exude a lot of Libran physical traits. However, my Ascendant is 25 degrees Libra and conjunct my 2 degree Scorpio Sun. So as well as possessing a few Libran traits, I'd say there are many more scorpionic traits that influence me.

Sun Conjunct Pluto in the 1st
------
This conjunction makes me an extreme control freak. I tend to power trip a lot, it's really the only thing I've ever had to deal with: power struggles. This aspect is like double the Plutonian energy.

2nd house Mercury Conjunct Venus in the 1st
----------
I tend to become extremely attached to material things. I know I'm a generous person at heart, but sometimes my need to be selfish (1st house) overrules all. Because Venus is a benefic, I usually always have some way of getting money. The only mistake I make is thinking that money will buy me happiness.
Both of these planets are in Scorpio.

Venus Conjunct Pluto both in the 1st
---------
I like to be the one in control in relationships. And I'm not big on flings, sure they're fun but I can't help but get emotionally attached. And whatever I have, I want forever especially if it's a good thing. So let's just say I've had a lot of bad breakups.
