Hola everyone! This one's a toughie, as my Cancer Venus is probably the opposite in many ways to a Libran Venus. I imagine there being a very patient and languid way to the person who has Venus in Libra. Like something very gentle, but luxurious, like a perfectly balanced decadence.
It seems like a very beautiful placement. I wouldn't normally associate Air with the emotions Venus conjures of passion, self love, coupling, adoration etc, but I can imagine the mind of the person who has this Venus placement to be pure and have a pure concept of love that few others can comprehend. I can also imagine that a Venus in Libra would not seek to control, but would subsribe to the philosophy of freedom and balance in love.
Am I on the right track, Jacque? (sorry, i had to rhyme there!)

Hi Everyone
Ok let's see if we can talk a bit more about Venus in Libra.......

Venus in Libra
Venus loves (Venus) being in Libra because this is its natural sign. These people are romantic (Venus) in thought and action but can sometimes have a tendency to leave practical common sense behind. They love a romantic (Venus) setting such as a candlelight dinner - it's very easy for them to fall in love in those circumstances, but not always with the right person. Venus in Libra tends to fall in love (Venus) early and often and will want to be surrrounded by beauty and harmony (Libra). They are sociable and will always try to avoid any form of disagreement or discord (Libra). They have the ability to put people at ease and are truly charming (Libra) people which is a trait that attracts (Venus) many admirers. The Libra Venus is probably the most seductive (Venus) in the zodiac. However, this seductiveness is subtle in the way it's expressed - they are never overly sexual or physical, but usually close to perfect in appearance and manners. Libra Venus people don't handle conflict situations very well, in fact they can get upset if they're exposed to conflicts. Their feelings are easily hurt, but they don't hold a grudge or try to get even. Close harmonious (Libra) relationships are very important to them. They go out of their way to be considerate and always try to please (Venus). A happy marriage is a number one priority. Venus in Libra can be particularly concerned with their personal appearance, and also how their partner sees them physically. They are totally devoted to their partner.

I noticed that Cat mentioned indecisiveness 3 times i agree that that IS a major factor for us Venus in Libras haha.. i can't seem to make up my mind about lots of things, always weighing them here and there..

these are so true too

I can also imagine that a Venus in Libra would not seek to control, but would subsribe to the philosophy of freedom and balance in love.

I think thats true!

...............................
but even though i think i crave companionship and relationships, somehow i haven't found the right guy and prefer to be alone.. could be because of my virgo moon and cappy ascendant *shrugs*

I found out I'm venus in 9th house too, same as Jackie..
Here's what i found on venus in 9th:

You enjoy any activity that allows you to enlarge your experience. You enjoy traveling to new and different places and learning about ways of thinking that are different from what you know.

You like to relate ideas and concepts to each other through a sense of harmony, because they seem to belong together rather than because they are connected logically. You are attracted only to those ways of thinking that involve human feelings. For you, beauty is a basic part of the world as it should be.

and venus in Libby:

You are a friendly, outgoing person who likes to have fun with others. You don't like to be alone, because you feel lonely very easily. Fortunately, people usually like you, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding company. In your efforts to get someone to like you, you should be yourself, not what you think the other person is looking for.

You like beautiful, graceful objects and fine clothing.

You may not enjoy doing hard work. But you will have to overcome this as you grow older, because everyone has to meet life's demands. You may try to get others to do your dirty work for you, but this would be a poor use of this energy. Instead, use your talent to make life beautiful for yourself and the people around you.

^^ I don't like to be alone, but i guess i'm not that sociable either.. could be my moon and ascendant too i guess..

Haha,

Lynn

Hi Lynn
LOL that I mentioned indecisiveness three times, I actually hadn't realised that I'd done that
Actually both my parents were Libra's (Sun sign) and you could never get an answer from either of them...it was always "ask your Mum...so I did...then got told..."ask your Dad"

I loved your post Hmmm so why do you think it is that somehow love tends to elude you......

Could it be that you can't make your mind up (indecisive ) about what love really means to you

Yes, i think so!
I don't even know what love is
and although sometimes its better to get into it to find out, i just can't !
I guess i have some sort of mental image on what love should be and no one can fulfil that, not even me!
And i'm a libra sun sign too, like your parents , and i guess it heightens my indecisiveness..

Hi LL
Once we've finish going through all the signs in Venus we'll move onto the house placements - which will modify Libra in Venus's behaviour.
But for now...how do you relate to the interpretations already posted re Venus in Libra? It would be good to hear your thoughts.

Venus in Libra may give you an innate ability to understand the feelings of others. Venus is at its best in Libra because this its natural sign. Aesthetic perceptions are at their best. You are a romantic in thought and action, sometimes leaving practical common sense behind. A romantic setting such as a candlelight dinner can really get to you. You fall in love easily under such circumstances, and not always with the right person. You tend to fall in love early and often. You want to be surrounded by beauty and harmony. You are very refined and quite sociable, and you try to avoid any form of disagreement or discord. You have the ability to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable and at home. You are truly a charming person, a trait that attracts many admirers. Indeed, the Libra Venus is the most seductive in the zodiac. This seductiveness is expressed in most subtle ways; you're never overtly sexual or physical, but usually close to perfect in appearance and manners. You don't handle conflict situations very well. When you're exposed to conflicts, you may even get nervously upset. Your feeling are easily hurt, but you don't hold a grudge or try to get even. Close harmonious relationships are very important for you. To secure these, you go out of your way being considerate, always trying to please. A happy marriage is a number one priority. You truly enjoy companionship, and you like to please others. You have the ability to understand the feeling of the other person, especially your partner, and react in a perfect fashion. You are willing to make nearly any sacrifice for the sake of love and for your relationship. You are particularly concerned with your personal appearance, and how you partner perceives you physically. You are totally devoted to your partner, and ever interested in filling every romantic desire.

-This is a near-perfect description, it's not mine, but still exactly how I feel

Hi Cat, I think it is very accurate as far as I am concerned. Except that I wouldn't say that I am easy-going, I take things so seriously for the most part. I take myself rather seriously in certain situations. And the other part of the time I will appreciate well thought-out mild loving pokes at myself from someone that I love or like intensely. And also, I'm not sociable especially with aquaintances and in large groups I am only sociable with total strangers one on one. I would actually prefer people not to talk to me but only because I am usually bored to tears with the subject matter and if I banter, people will keep expecting me to keep being clever and laugh, and most of the time I don't like to laugh out loud; I can find something humorous and silently appreciate it. I can laugh on the inside but people don't understand and they think that I am offended or that I am trying to make them feel stupid by not laughing or that I think that they are not funny. So most of the time I just don't bother because I don't like people to feel bad or turn around and try to make me feel stupid because of some imagined hurt on their part. I like to be openly admired but not necessarily spoken to. I think that my Scorpio Moon is in play for most of the differences.

Venus is Libra is a most wonderful conversationalist (Libra). As friends, they lovingly (Venus) guide their companions to balanced (Libra) points of view. If they choose to, they can diplomatically (Libra) present to you another point of view, and move you (Venus) to accept it as part of your own. Venus in Libra is comfortable with asthetics (Libra). They prefer designs that are light, balanced, non-descript (Libra). They naturally gravitate to move things around to create visual harmony (Libra). Give them ANY situation, and they will be tempted to balance out anything they find to be uneven or excessive (Libra).

Venus in Libra is not good at making decisive points, and sticking with them (Libra). To them, a balanced choice overrides everything else (Libra)---to be taken quite broadly. Venus in Libra will many times, logically side with unfavorable points of views, even going against popular opinion. Logic rules above all else (Libra), even in matters of love.

so would you say its very out of character for a person with Venus in Libra to be absolutely positive.. from a very young age..that they will never marry?

Just curious....

Well, I am back again, because for whatever reason I am now inspired and really really motivated to study astrology again.

Lets start here, because I seem to have some issues with Libra-especially since not only is my Venus in Libra, but so is my Moon, and they both hang out in my 11th house, with lots of conjunctions.....~sigh~

I am not good with feelings, especially my own. Based on house interpretations, I fully agree with one thing- I ususally find lovers in the workplace, and they are always friends first. I don't consider myself seductive (at least not in public) and I don't seem to inspire people to respond to me in that fashion....unless they are, and I have always been oblivious.

I will have to conceed that some of the attributes sort of fit, but I guess I am just not comfortable with it.
