Okay, I'm fed up with the Placidian house system, it just doesn't feel accurate enough for me. Does anyone have experience with other house systems?

I've always wanted to look in-depth at my Equal House chart.

I think the Equal House Asc. describes my soul a lot better than any other system. It describes what I dream about becoming, instead of what I will become. This system is the oldest of them all; supposedly, it goes back 3000 BC. The only problem with the system is that it allows the MC to fall wherever it wishes, and some astrologers believe the MC is where we are most likely headed, or where we are best suited in terms of career. For instance a woman with Libra on the 10th house might wish that she had a family, children, and a nice husband. Yet the MC is in Scorpio so in this 3rd dimensional world, she should be pursuing a career in psychology, therapy, or anything Scorpio related. The problem that I have is that in certain house systems, a few of my planets keep going back and forth. I can't tell which is more accurate. Which system did Linda Goodman use?

Okay, I read in Star Signs she uses the Equal House System. I knew she would because it's ancient and well known for its beautiful simplicity. I like it a lot too. I think even though MC/IC falls wherever it wishes, it doesn't blur the interpretation of the chart. It acually makes the interpretation clearer and easier to follow. I like the Equal House System a lot. Very simple! Yet, I just don't believe this is the exact chart the ancients used. It's been modified over the years in my opinion.

I think the other systems can lend additional insight or other layers of information, but I'm with Linda.

Linda thought the other systems served to make readings more confusing and cloudy. I think I agree with her. I viewed my chart with the Equal House System, and I had a feeling that I was viewing something very sacred. Besides, the House System is purely symbolic, so why make it more complicated than it really is? Linda has a knack for being right, and so do the ancients, at least with me anyway.

Hmm...I think I wanna check out my equal house chart, instead of the one on default at astro.com. Is it more accurate? Lemme see...

I feel like the equal house system IS more accurate....at least for me. It moved some of my planets around, and now my MC cusp is in the 9th house... I'm confused with that. I thought it was supposed to be the beginging og of the 10th...

The MC/IC is just an imaginary line that divides the chart in half. The other line that divides the chart is the Ascendant/Descendant. Some astrologers argue the MC needs to be with the cusp of the 10th house, while others don't agree becuase it moves the Asc away from the cusp of the 1st house. Or at least I think.

I find the Equal house system more enlighting, particularly in transits and relationship readings.
