hi nackie,
do I have your info? If you've posted it I just haven't got to it yet, but I will. if not please post it. I know your chart somewhat, you are my complimentary opposite. Gemini Sun, Libra rising and Taures Moon Right? I am Aries Sun, Sag rising and Taures Moon.
for right now lets start with

Mars conjunct Jupiter

(Karen Hamaker-Zondag)

The energy and executiveness of Mars side by side with the expansiveness and jollity of Jupiter give abundant energy and a great need for activities of all kinds. Usually, with this aspect, we find an enormous appetite for life, strong vitativeness and the resilience to rise above difficulties. The optimism of Jupiter is coupled here with the courage, love of action and enterprise of Mars, which can give quick and energetic action on the spur of the moment - action which often strikes lucky. But the drawback is that the planets concerned carry the word 'too' embroidered on their pennons; they get us working too hard trying to overachieve. That is why we sometimes find dissatisfaction in this combination; a dissatisfaction that can express itself in rebellious behavior - unnecessary really, because the get-up-and-go of Mars plus Jupiter holds plenty of promise of success. Sometimes, with this conjunction, we take risks - physical, material, mental and other.

We have considerable need for independence and freedom of action; both Mars and Jupiter ancourage us to go our own way. Mars can enhance the Jovian characteristics, and this can lead to great opinionatedness and the spirit of Liberty Hall, but also to proselytizing zeal and to a startlingly outspoken, disarming and sometimes very naive honesty. If we set our minds on anything, we do so heart and soul. Then we display courage and readiness to put up a fight, are energetic and businesslike, and have enthusiasm and great confidence in ultimate success.

However, with this aspect, we must always guard against all forms of exaggeration. For self-control is not our strongest point.

This is so me...I can't stand to be cornered in. It is a hard aspect for my relationships, as I tend to let friendships die off (feel like I otherwise need to be what others expect me to be) or I tend to be rebellious and cold in personal relationships (hate to be caged in and pinned down).

I think this is a major aspect in my chart, mars and jup in aries, both squared by my singleton saturn. Sometimes that makes life hard lol

I can't believe all the energy you have to do all these charts! *Envy, envy!*

Will we be learning about the moon's nodes, as well? I find them fascinating...

Love,

hi nackie

We haven't exactly gotten to nodes yet but real quick they are ecliptic points that show karmic areas of your chart.
The north node shows the direction you want to go to fulfill your karmic destiny and the south node shows where you're coming from.

North Node Sag/South Node Gemini

(Martin Schulman)

The keyword here is promise. For lifetimes, this individual has enmeshd himself in dualities, resulting in indecision. He has tried to be all things to all people, and as a result has made himself attuned to superficiality.

Now he has strong karmic lessons to learn in areas of loyalty and allegiance. Eventually he will come to see that by playing both sides against the middle he can only hope to make himself the center of the sandwich, caught in the squeeze. Nevertheless, he retains a past-life fear of committing himself fully to either side, for at least on the superficial level, he sees truth and right in both. He still believes that a definite commitment to one side would leave him with the feeling of missing the opportunity inherent in the other.

THis ability to remain uncommitted enables him constantly to adjust himself to fit the needs of the moment. Like the chameleon, his colors change with his surroundings.

In past incarnations, he was not too discriminating, knowing that it really didn't matter where he gave his affiliations since he never gave his complete self anyway. Now he swings like a pendulum in the breeze, open to ride if but for a brief time only on the winning wind.

He purposely makes himself the pawn of others, and, even if only for the moment, seems to agree with them so that he can temporarily feel accepted and a part of something.

Through many lives, his sense of self-identity has become not merely a signle division but filled with all the questions of everybody with whom he was in contact. Since so many people have formed the building blocks of this inner self, it is impossible for him to be anything but a hypocrite!

When he speaks, his facial expression as well as body language will change from sentence to sentence, taking on the appearance of the person whose words he is not trying to pass off as his own. In fact, when he makes a definite positive statement, his eyes will always examine the recipient to see if it was received as truth. If not, then it doesn't really matter for he will now start talking incessantly, trying one collected statement after another on for size in the hope that somewhere in his collection of information a few words might be worthwhile.

He loves activity; and when circumstances make him feel cooped up or bogged down, he becomes highly nervous and restless.

Always over-programmed, he struggles to keep up with the myriad of details and people that fill his life. He has so much to do, and yet at the end of each day feels distracted from his purpose.

In past incarnations, he never developed a long attention span. As a result, he spends much of this life constantly changing his mind about everything.

At one point, he will go through conflict over whether to live in a large city or in the country. The conflict is really between the continuation of his past-life need to be with people and his present-life desire to be away from them.

Direction does not come at an early age. More often than not, it comes through the aid of parents or an older person who sets him on his course. This occurs usually after age twenty-eight.

Underneath it all he is unsteady; he has been so busy seeing the shades of gray in everything that he has difficulty seeing the light of truth in himself.

For this individual, life's biggest task involves a quest for higher knowledge. Through the Sagittarius North Node, he must learn that in order for man to be capable of seeing the truth, he must first be the truth!

He will go far if he teaches himself to speak from his higher mind, for the esoteric meaning of all he says will ultimately show him his real identity.

When he starts to mesh with Transcendental Thought, he will begin to reach a spiritual union within himself.

First he must work through his karma of perpetuating trivia and come to see that participating in gossip is the greatest sin against liberty. Then he must turn his back on all the past-life residue of pretended sophistication and reach for all that is real and natural. Ultimately, he comes to see that although a coin has two sides, it's still one coin! When he develops this perspective of vision, he will be able to transform the knowledge he has acquired into Divine Wisdom.

The house position of the South Node shows the area where past incarnation personality conflicts still plague the lower mind. The house position of the North Node shows the ways in which a Higher Consciousness can be developed into a vehcle which enables him to rise above all conflict.

His present-life evolution will free him from the bondage of indecision, and in its place give him glimpses of Universal Truth.

Thanks, Linda.

It IS really hard for me to stick to one idea/opinion/person, as I said earlier I hate getting pinned down. It's so bad sometimes that when I decorate in my house (my passion) I won't have anything in my house that has to be in one spot permanently. Everything has to be movable (god I love wheels on furniture lol), I at least have to be able to shove them around, or I don't want them. I hate to cut a good piece of material, you never know when you will need it whole again lol (in my case, prolly next week!)

It's really easy to say, you have to learn to see that two sides of a coin make up one coin (I know those weren't your own words), but where do you draw the line at being emotionally/mentally flexible (i.e. seeing both sides of the "coin") and being overly shallow?

A big point of the nodes that interest me, is that my north node is in sag. All around me I'm surrounded by saggies (Gramma, 2 uncles, brother, my own son), as well as strongly saggy influenced people (other brother is saggy rising, hubby has a sag stellium incl. jupiter, MIL has a saggy moon). I strongly feel that being around all this sag energy is supposed to help me along my path. What do you think? Is our n.node an indicator of special relationships? Or could it be, as the n. node is supposedly a karmic signal, a starting point for the family-incarnations (I believe we reincarnate in certain groups i.e. family of people). What do you think?

Love,
Nackie

Hello Linda,
I have a question for you. My son has been diagnosed with ADD (in Germany this is not so common as in the States), and on reading about ADD I've come to realize that I probably have it too. Which is a typical way for women to get diagnosed lol, through their kids getting diagnosed.

Anyways my question:
I have, as does my son, Uranus on the AC. In how far do you think this pertains to the diagnosis? Also, I'm a gem and he's a saggy, and ADD reads like the sun-sign descriptions for both signs.

i.e.
*can't stay focused on a boring routine
*finds it hard to keep energy on a project up over a long period of time
*is very impulsive
*has addictive behaviour qualities (i.e. ADD's have a much higher rate of alcohol/drug/food addictions)
*startles easily
*can't fall asleep because thoughts are circling in their head
*fidgets

If you would like to look at his chart (it's a cool chart)

D.L. born 11 Dec. 1996, 10:42 Windsor, ONT Canada

I appreciate your input, I have found nothing on the net about astrology and ADD, although there are a lot of esoteric ADD kids (so-called Indigo Kids) sites...wierd, eh??

Dear Nackie,

I'm sorry its taken this long to respond, I just didn't see it.

First let me congratulate you on having a son who is really going to make a difference in this lifetime. He is such an Aquarian (I know his Sun is in Sag and the Moon is in Cap) but both planets are in the 11th house (Aquarius) AND his ruling planet Uranus is conjunct his Aquarius Ascendant. WOW

I found none of the typical ADHD aspects, which are Mercury/Mars conjunction or Square. So if he was diagnosed ADHD I think what the Dr is finding is Genius. Uranus shows where your genius is anyway. Your son is smart and probably has trouble just finding ways to challenge his mind.
Uranus can be hyper (but more of a nervous hyper) they pull information out of nowhere.
ADHD can't focus and I'm betting your son can. Hes going to be years ahead of his time and I bet he invents things. Encourage this because you just never know.

Nackie,
I went back and reread his behavoir patterns and actually they sound pretty much like an 8 year old to me. At that age they have energy to spare.

His impulsiveness is from his Sag Sun (show me a fire sign who isn't a little impulsive)

He startles easily because hes in deep thought figuring out his own mysteries.

Keeping focused on a project long enough to finish it, is going to surprise you, thats why I say "inventions"

Aquarius is a fixed sign and fixed follows through on projects, but unfortunately their also prone to addictive behavior.

can't fall asleep, put him in sports and let him run all that energy out of him, believe me he'll sleep.

Hi Linda,
I really appreciate your input. You are right, the aquarius in him is very strong. He looks very aquarian too, long and very lean, high forehead, big blue eyes.

His behaviour is unfortunately not "typical" 8 year old. He's often off in his own dream world (I know, there's aq. again), other times he is VERY distracting to the whole class. He is very verbal when he doesn't want to do something lol. I.e. he will fall off his chair, moaning "ohhhhh nooooo not language arts again!" He forgets everything you tell him, can't write a whole sentence without making a mistake, can't copy from a textbook into his workbook, it takes him about 3 hours to do his half hour of homework.

A little Edit: I don't consider my son hyperactive, his problem is more about the impulsivity (can't wait his turn, always interrupts, has no handle on "no" at this minute doesn't mean "never"). He is also highly distractable, which was a blessing while he was little because I could distract him from his tantrums. Which brings up another point, he is VERY moody, i.e. flips out right away, whines and pouts a lot. VERY annoying lol /EDIT

I'm convinced that he's very bright. He'll have his IQ tested next fall, as in Germany the kids start high school in gr. 5, and there are 3 different level high schools here. You have the advanced one (more theoretical, prepares for university), the general one (more practical, prepares for apprenticeship jobs i.e. craftsmen, nurses, bank tellers etc) and then the basic one, where they finish school at age 15. Graduating from this kind of school gives you no hope of ever finding a decent job.

The biggest problem is is that his teacher, at the beginning of the next school year gives a recommendation to which school the child should go to, which one he can handle. His teacher has told me that my son belongs at the advanced school according to his intelligence, but according to his work ability he probably would not be able to pass the basic school. So I'm worried, because the time is running out. Later it is possible to change schools, but it is VERY difficult to move up.

Sorry to bore you with the details, it's a big issue in my heart at the moment! It's a shame to see him throw away his chances.

Thanks again Linda,
Nackie

P.s. He is into lots of sports (try to keep a saggy out of sports! lol) According to him he's going to be a famous, rich soccer player (I HOPE!!! hehe)

Tell him famous rich soccer players have to get good grades to be on first string.(set sports goals for him)
I think alot of his behavior (again) is age.

P.S When talking to his teacher STRESS the importance of college. Tell them that when the time comes you fully expect and are planning on him going to college. If they resist compromise with a tutor.

hi Nackie,

I replied in the Venus thread and what I should have done is reply here. I'll just move it

Hi Nackie,
The importance of the 4th and 10th house cusps (Midhaven and Nadir) are never stressed strongly enough. Yes Venus is strong in your chart, it is your most elevated planet. By position its confidant, knowing its own value.

(Sue Tompkins)

Venus conjunct the MC might be indicative of a Venusian career; a vocation in art, beauty, diplomacy or somewhere where there is a requirement for taste, comparison or harmony. Certainly, whatever the actual work, the individual will be able to bring diplomatic skills to it. Usually people with this placement know how to charm and get on easily with those in authority. Venus conjunct MC might also be expected to confer public popularity, or at least an urge towards trying to create it. Some with this configuration may become well-known because of their romantic life or the relationships they form. Still others might wish, beyond all else, to be known as a loving parent.

Venus on either end of the MC-IC axis may be descriptive of the experience of their own parent(s) as being very loving or popular. For others it may be more descriptive of a parent's vocational activities or their wishes for the career of the child.

Too true!

I work as an event manager, it's all about smoothing feathers and egos and making sure everyone thinks everyone else loves them lol

Until I "grew up" I wanted to be a diplomat. I was very very sure I would work in the foreign office and end up a diplomat. Well, the foreign office didn't work out, but I DO live in Europe and ended up doing something I (generally) love.

Funny enough, Dad's a leo (10th house cusp-"father"). He's a real leo, the world seems to revolve around him (libra asc, so it's very bearable lol), gregarious and everyone loves him. Interesting info!

I've always thought there must be some deeper meaning between having venus smack-dab on the top of my chart (Midheaven is pretty much centered), squaring a libra asc and a taurus moon (loose, with a bit of fantasy... lol).

Something that I am working on figuring out is the IC and the 4th house. It somehow never intersted me before and seems to be an interesting topic to me at the time. I have an empty aquarius 4th house. Would that be the cause of my "shallow roots"--we move around a lot, I live, like I said earlier, in Europe instead of Canada. I would probably not be happy to own my own home because that would tie me to one place. I'm perfectly content to move to new cities every 2 or 3 years as we have done in the past 8 years, and to keep starting over. Most people tell me I must be very brave to keep moving around, but I don't find it all that terrible...

As an empty house, I realize that there is not too much emphasis on it, and I don't really focus on that area (home is where my hat is...), just seems that a lot of aqua energy is going around me at the moment, maybe activating my interest in that house.

Hugs,
Nackie (who feels very self centred talking about herself the whole time!)
