Welcome Maroon Flower,

Lets start with your Taures Rising

(Jeanne Avery)

The person with Taurus rising is really a country squire at heart. His deepest desire is to acquire his own piece of land, whether large or small, because he needs to feel that special connection to the earth. A pastoral scene can be as inspiring to him as a beautiful painting would be to someone else. He is very loving, affectionate, steadfast, and loyal. His needs are basic: he wants good food, good sex, and a nice place to live.

The symbol of Taurus is the bull. More specifically, he is Ferdinand the bull. If you remember, Ferdinand was very happy to sit in the meadow, smelling the flowers and enjoying a cool summer breeze. But along came a bee to sting Ferdinand out of his reverie. It was then that he showed his bull-like nature and let out a mighty roar. Pawing the ground, with flames flaring from his nostrils, he reacted with a temper that is characteristic of one with this ascendant. Like Ferdinand, the person with Taurus rising is content and easygoing to a point, but when goaded beyond his point of endurance, he will let out the mightiest bellow in the zodiac. His temper can be so violent, unfurled in its fullest fury, that he scares even himself.

The ruler of Taurus is Venus. Venus is the planet that is associated with love, beauty, ease of living, graciousness, and charm. It is the planet that rules the arts. In its positive sense, Venus indicates tact, diplomacy, and sociability. In its negative interpretation, it indicates laziness and self-indulgence. Taurus is an Earth sign, indicating practicality, and is fixed and determined.

The Taurean 'earth' Venus is quite different in its manifestation from the 'airy' Venus of Libra. The Libran Venus is more aesthetic and intellectuak. The individual with Taurus rising is more inclined toward acquisition than self-expression in connection with the arts. There are exceptions, of course. Since Taurus rules the throat area and Venus rules beauty, this person is blessed with a naturally beautiful voice. He may express himself through singing, speaking, or acting. Another form of expression involves architecture. The Taurus rising is a builder at heart. His practical nature takes joy in erecting houses or monuments. But perhaps the greatest outlet he finds is in preparing food. Cooking becomes an art form when Taurus rising is concerned. He may never attend a school of Escoffier, but his natural ability leads him to gourmet excellence. His taste in anything can be superb, but he has a special sense about food, wine, and good living.

The person with Taurus rising is a hard-working individual, carving his life out of the earth in a special way. He has great strength, is steadfast and loyal. His endurance is unsurpassed. He has a strong attachment to the earth plane and all its abundnace, and will work very hard to secure that abundance. He wants to stay connected to the ground in a strong way; it's his way of being safe. His reward is the pleasure of good companionship over good food with a roaring fire in the background. He wants to celebrate his victory and success with those he loves, sharing the fruits of the earth with them. He loves the good life and wants pleasure and graciousness of living above almost anything else.

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac. The second house in a chart is the house of finance. Taurus is one of the 'money' signs'. He can be a financial wizard. His desire to excel in financial matters has to do with his need for building security. He is never impressed by wealth, either his own or that of others; material success, being able to wrest a living out of the ground, is simply his way of staying attached to the earth. His acquisition of money is connected to his desire to build a foundation from which he cn continut to fortify his position and grow. The world privedes a feast for one with a Taurus ascendant. He wants to be able to enjoy his share of all the beauty.

The culture of the Egyptian age flourished under the sign of Taurus. The cymbol of the bull is featured in many artifacts and artworks from that time. The building of the great pyramids is tremendously symbolic of the steadfastness and determination of one with Taurus on the rise. The building instincts are strong and sure. This native may appear to be plodding and obstinate to the casual observer, yet as with the tortoise and the hare, the slow and steady progress of the Taurus rising will outlast swifter-footed signs, who burn themselves out along the way. Step by step, with an endurance that puts a weaker soul to shame, he gathers his strength to forge his monument. It will last, and weather the storms of centuries. Like the Egyptians, he prepares well for his eventual departure from the eart. In those days, the tombs were complete when there was sufficient wealth to ensure the departed one material comfort in the other life. The person with this ascendant wants to line his 'temples' with his earthly acquisitions as well. He is a collector of things that represent security to him, whether it be stamps and records or objets d'art. He always has an insurance policy in his collections. It is hard for him to break his attachmetn to things. He wants them, just to have them.

The manifestation of Venus concerns the desire and love nature. When a person has Taurus rising, this desire nature is well developed. In fact, his decisions about survival have to do with his desires. Desire is the thing that helps him out of any tendency to inertia. He craves physical touch and is safe when he has it. He is tremendously sensual, earthy, and demonstrative. It is perhaps his well-developed love nature that inclines him to love and marriage early on. He will work hard, motivated by his love for his family.

Sometimes the Taurus rising's strong desire nature can bind him too tightly to the earth. He can become engrossed in his material existence, which obscures an overall perspective about a deeper meaning of life. If Venus is well aspected in his chart, he eventually uses that desire nature as a first step toward true illumination. That desire can be transmuted into universal love by first realizing the higher meaning of aspiration. It is then a short step toward spiritual love. Any selfishness is transmuted into selflessness. One with this ascendant wants to enjoy gracious living and lifestyle. But the transmutation of love for family may be extended to the entire human family in some cases.

If Venus is not well aspected in the chart, there is a strong likelihood that one with this ascendant can be mired in materialism on a completely negative level. He will be pigheaded and obstinate without any reason. His obsession with physical needs adn the functions of the sexual energy can include low forms of humor, jokes about the love nature, and bawdy comedy. His bullheaded tendencies lead him to experiences that fulfill his sexual needs but not his spiritual ones.

A Taurus ascendant is easily spotted by checking out the appearance. The eyes can be 'cow-like', round and rimmed. The hariline, too, can be easily recognized. As it recedes, it forms a peak in the front, almost like allowing room for the horns to grow. The Taurean beauty is of an earthy nature - a lustiness coupled with a certain kind of sensual charm. Sometimes the neck tends to be quite thick, but broad shoulders balance the thickness nicely. The personality of one with this rising sign is pleasant and sociable, but the dead giveaway is his stubborn quality. Once he plants his feet, that will be that. Reason will not convince him to change his mind, and he cannot be swayed. He may not even know why he has suddenly called a halt to any further progress. There is simply no budging him when he has had enough.

Children with this ascendant require lots of affection. They exhibit a sensual quality even as little ones. The social nature seems well developed and their charm can melt even the coldest hearts. They are beautiful in appearance, with a sweetness that belies the temper lurking just beneath the surface. They are collectors early in life. Their survival decisions have much to do with the affection they require, and with the desire to please. If they are cuddled and loved, they fulfill their potential beyond all expectations. They are hard workers, perhaps even enjoying household duties if the jobs can be made appealing and special. They need to be encouraged to express their artistic tendencies. If their sociable, outgoing personality can find a creative outlet, either through art or though theatre, they receive the love and attention they crave from many people and in a healthy way. They can be urged out of any lethargy by expressing an artistic talent. They need to associate with people, perhaps of all ages. A certain amount of freedom of the right kind, early in life, will channel their social needs in the right direction. They are fun to be around, pure delight and pleasure, as long as they are given free rein. If they are coerced, the stubborn, bull-like quality will emerge in full force. This child will show true loyalty as long as he is well loved and well treated. He responds to love with a full heart, spurred on to greater achievement by appreciation. He needs to spend time in the country, close to the earth that gives him such a sense of security.

Taurus rules the throat and the voice. Not only is the person blessed with a pleasant speaking voice, but if Venus is well aspected in the chart, he has a ways with words, can express himself easily, and may be fluent in vocabulary and languages. The throat chakra is the power centre, so if one with this rising sign is in touch with his power on an esoteric level, he influences people far and wide, perhaps without knowing exactly how. He can develop a singing voice if he so chooses, but even without formal training, his vocal ability is more comprehensive than even he is aware of.

The greatest temptation of one with this rising sign is pleasure. That can include pleasure of teh sight, taste, touch, and feelings. With Venus ruling the sensual nature, it is almost impossible for him to resist anything that promises delight. It is up to the individual to find healthy, productive ways to enjoy himself and feed his pleasure needs. One with this ascendant needs routine, for routine is a way of establishing more security. Self-disciplined convinces him that he can od what he sets out to do. He has great respect for discipline, perhaps because it is his antidote for lethargy and self-indulgence. Interestingly enough, the astrological antidote for Venus is Saturn. When too much 'Venusian' temptation' comes into view, a 'Saturnian' discipline is essential. The converse is also true. When things are too heavy and routine, boring and detailed, a little pampering will go a long way toward making things easier. The end result is balance. The old saying 'All work and no play...' could not be more fitting for one with Taurus on the rise - although the translation 'All play and no work...' is just as apt at times.

Children with this ascendant thrive on the combination of cuddling and higging coupled with strong discipline. A structured time provides the security that roots and grounds him. Almost as if proof of the pudding, I overheard a conversation my son, with Taurus on the ascendant, was having with a parent of a young child who was momentarily misbehaving. As the child's screams got louder, the lack of action impelled David to talk about how he would handle the situation. He began to talk about his childhood. He started: 'My mother was so tough, if she said no, she meant no and there was no getting around her'. To my great surprise, I heard a note of pride creep into his voice as he continued discussing his theories about child raising. Since he had plenty of hugging and affection, evidently the discipline was something he respected and enjoyed. Enforced time structure enables a child with this ascendant to find a median between duty and desire. If he is reassured that he is responsible and reliable as well, he will be free to indluge himself in healthy ways, and to allow himself reward for his diligence. After the Taurus rising works hard to till the soil, he will be able to enjoy the fruits of his harvest.

In an individual chart, difficult aspects to Venus from other planets can modify the personality traits to a degree. Usually, those conflicting energies can impel the individual with this ascendant to want peace at any price, avoid making waves, and tend to take the easy way out. He can appear to be lazy, self-indulgent, and determined to go with sensuality to the exclusion of all else. Aspects to the planet Pluto can make him compulsively pleasure-seeking. With negative aspects to Neptune, the individual is naive, somewhat unrealistically on cloud nine. He may look through rose-colored glasses and be unwilling to confront anything. With difficult aspects to Uranus, this native will be more impulsive, rebellious, and unpredictable than usual. He may have difficulty staying closely connected to the earth he needs so much. Saturn aspects form a natural antidote, enabling the Taurus rising to handle great responsibility and be more able to conform to routine and pressure. If Saturn is really heavy in the chart, the individual can be too hard on himself. He may have guilt about expressing his pleasure-loving nature to the fullest extent.

Since there is a tendency to overindulge in gourmet foods and fine wines, the one with Taurus ascendant needs exercise. He can be somewhat lackadaisical in taking care of his body, unless his working routine compels him to exercise as a matter of course. Again the discipline of pleasurable physical activity can counteract the effect his overindulgence has on his overall appearance. With such a strong tendency to enjoyment of food, he can gain a great deal of weight without realizing it. Although this is not one of the signs that is thought of as overweight, any tendency to laziness will only make it harder to maintain the ideal weight.

But, i dont keep a grudge ... but usually prefer to avoid unpleasant people/situations.

Maroon Flower,

You have an unaspected retrograde Mercury in the 7th house, theres is a thread here intitled "unaspected planets" look at it. Also, please leave your stats so that I can have my own copy of your natal.

for right now heres Mercury in the 7th house

(Howard Sasportas)

Mercury's dual function fo gathering information and then distributing it again operates clearly when this planet is housed in the 7th: there is an enormous amount to learn through being with other people, but there is just as much to teach and share with them. Mercury in the 7th naturally desires to communicate and exchange ideas with many different types of people. Assessing and understanding how and what others think is a favourite pastime. Telling them one's own thoughts and opinions runs a close second.

Mercury in the 7th shops around for a partner who is intellectually stimulating. Of course, they may find so many people who are interesting in different ways that it is difficult to settle on just one. Then again, there may be no-one ever interesting enough. Nor is Mercury in the 7th immune to the pitfalls of projection: some may try to import another person to do their thinking, talking and decision-making for them. Or they may attract someone who is non-committal, unreliable, or tricky to pin down. As hurtful as this might be, there is the secondary gain of having escaped being pinned down themselves.

While being careful not to approach the whole delicate and mysterious area of relationship too much 'from the head', some degree of objectivity and detachment is required to sustain a long-term involvement. With Mercury in the 7th, many problems can be 'worked through' if they are discussed and analysed. Some people with this placement may be fairly (or should I say 'unfairly'?) critical and judgemental about 'those little things' which their partners do that annoy them. Fortunately, the antics of the god Mercury remind us that a sense of humour about such things is the great balancer.

In response to the detriment and at home thread :

I find that i have retro saturn in detriment in cancer in 2nd house :

Saturn in detriment in cancer :
Quote " This means that issues like duty and responsibility are muddied by personal needs and desires. Often there is a dilemma between satisfying yourself or satisfying others. It seems difficult to compromise and frequently others demand that you place responsibility to them before yourself. These natives usually feel like they have to earn love and trust and do not find it easy to love unconditionally. Saturn is the principle of agnoia (ignorance or unwit) and here it functions through the Moon. This means that there is a lack of understanding of ones own feelings, and sometimes a tendency to neglect showing your feelings or emotions. There may be a tendency toward shyness and melancholy. It is often the case that the native finds it difficult to integrate personal and professional life. As a result they end up living two different lives. "
Wow... no wonder things have been real tough past few months... very stormy on homefront... sigh, sad..but i guess gotta learn to move on in life. hmmm....

I also have a retro Mars at home in Aries in the 12th hse.

Peace & love !

Mars in Aries :

Quote " Those born with Mars here are said to be very individualistic and tend to stand out from the crowd; leads to independence. They are also said to be impulsive and have considerable courage and initiative. According to medieval sources this is a firey sign; heat is added to dryness, and heat is said to purify or rarify what it contacts. This purity of action generates the quality of directness, forthrightness and a sense of nobility."

Yup, i generally dont like to mince words.. no beating round the bush.

Wow.. i'm learning...

How's things Lalalinda? Hope alls been well.

Hi Maroon Flower,
With your Rx Saturn (2nd) in Cancer. Whenever you have a planet in Cancer your immediate family is very important and you take any critisim or attacks toward them very personally. Sometimes (as in your children or spouse) even more personally than you would normally if the affront had been made towards you.
You have four planets Rx, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Chiron

Mercury Rx (Mohan Koparkar)

Internalizing and externalizing of information can be associated with some impedences in this case. As a result, the native will comprehend and express as usual, but he would have difficulty confirming what he learned. Instant recall can meet internal resistance and hesitancy. The process of the information flow through this native can be complex. He can be as smart as others, but he may not be able to show it all the time. Learning through normal logic, as well as reverse logic, is seen here. This can confuse the brain periodically. Deductive reasoning and utilizing methods of elimination can be prominent in this case. He fluctuates from extremes of intelligence to a noncomprehendable individual. A unique way of externalizing gives him an added advantage in mixing with other people. Normal senses work overtime, but not necessarily on a standard routing. He needs time to digest his information and learnings, and to categorize them. He will talk smart, when he does not know the subject. On the other hand, he can play dumb when he is sure of his knowledge and information. Learing through feedback from others is extremely natural for him. Thus, he would rather interchange his ideas, participating with co-operative learning-teaching, than be a straight-forward communicator. He respects others' intelligence, but he may not be sure of himself. Self-examination, re-confirmation, inner evaluation and periodic information retrieval are very important to him. He may suffer mental confuctions, excessive thinking, or his ideas becoming too big for him. Repeated clarifications are expected by him; and his curiosity may appear pesty or blunt to others. Excellent service orientation noticed here; and on-the-job performance is associated with constant learning. This learning to keep up with the state of the art is important no matter what the art can be. Unusual relationship with brothers and sisters seen. At one point, they are very close to the native; and then all of a sudden totally separate due to circumstances. Some mental distress, agony, or confusing issues occur from the mother's side of the family. A substantial difference is noticed between his early school performance and later education. Often the native may not use his learnings or formal education towards his true professional achievements. In social function, he can be an exciting individual to observe, as he can switch topics and sides of conversations right in the middle. Mental stimulations are important to him on the job; but at home he may want to detach from the strainy brain interactions. A childish or youngish expression and behavior is often seen here, as the native can maintain better youthfulness in life than others. However, outwardly getting grey hair early in life compensates towards his maturity. Diversification, learning the same thing again, or lack of co-ordination towards learning is noticed. This repeated process may not be due to thoroughness, but rather an absentminded tendency. Nervous system, reflexes, speech patterns, brain wave functions need attention periodically. Witty combat, devil's advocate tendencies, complex thinking in terms of strategies, and mild mental distortions can be possible. Good logic is seen here, but hte native may lack self-confidence or self-trust in his own ideas and their execution.

(Bil Tierney)

Mars rules the drive or urge to eject vital energy outward into the external world. It desires to directly activate conditions to suit personal impulses through assertive and often rapid movement. It is one planet that functions most comfortably when it is free to thrust itself forward with much momentum into the manifest world in an attempt to dynamically face and overpower all impeding situations through head-on action. Its psychological nature needs this type of challenge for growth. However, when it is found retrograde in the natal chart, Mars obviously has more difficulty externalizing aggressive impulses towards an outer objective with the open drive typical of direct Mars. Energy can internalize readily, giving the individual a surface appearance of calmness, composure, tranquility, and stability. Yet inwardly, this person is much less able to relax since energy is constantly being expended through subjective tensions as well as internal body processes. Mars retrograde does not throw itself spontaneously into personal action in the accustomed manner of Mars direct. This Mars seldom energizes itself to face up to opposition in a straightforward manner. It is less overt in its moves. Individuals with retrograde Mars often behave more passively or non-combatively than they feel deep down inside. The main impetus of this Mars is decidedly more psychological than physical, more reflective than actional, and more deliberate than impulsive.

What motivates this person to act or do things is less obviously understood, since often he is triggered into expression by subjective, internal stimuli rather than external factors. He is motivated here by predominantly unconscious facets of his psyche, and may be at a loss as to why he is driven to act. Perhaps retrograde Mars is an opportunity for one to reflect upon the whys of action, encouraging activity to be thoughtful and purposeful rather than impetuous and poorly planned. His reflective appreach could suggest a degree of uncertainty about taking action until he has internally reviewed the nature of what must be done. Thus, his apparent lack of initiative and enterprise can be misleading, since he is actually developing strategy (seeking through careful planning the most advantageous moment to build up a situation). Thus, it is typical that he will delay from taking action until a later time that feels inwardly right for him. He normally prefers to act alone in seclusion or solitude rather than in the presence of others. In a male's chart, retrograde Mars under strong stress patterns can lead to undue inhibition or misdirection of the sexual force, which potentially can result in impotence. There may be at least a general lessening of physical excitement through the usual stimuli in favor of more complicated psychological arousal. In a female's chart, there can be frigidity or a deeper problem adjusting to the masculine principle within than is apparent. Women with this placement may further externalize this difficulty by attracting men who either sexually frustrate or psychologically threaten their identity. These men themselves may basically be maladjusted in their own expression of masculinity. For both sexes, sexual tensions slowly build up but are less recognized by these individuals.

Under natal stress patterns, this Mars can be harmful to the psyche, as energy initially generated from conflicts in the outer world turns within towards the self. Hostilities, resentments, jealousies, and outright anger are seldom allowed to be released through the most direct and immediate outlets available. They are instead capable of being pent up, stored inwardly, and permitted to dangerously concentrate themselves within the individual. Astrologer Mary Vohryzek once in personal correspondence referred to retrograde Mars as having a 'seething' quality about it, with periods of unexpected eruption. My observations here have definitely attested to her insight about Mars retrograde. These individuals are often baffled about the intensity of their passionate, somewhat destructive reactions in this regard. For some who unduly repress their tensional forces, the physical body may end up being the focal point for such over-charged energy. It thus can suffer inflammations and infections of a more complicated, resistant nature than that same Mars would if natally direct. This seems particularly so if Mars connects in any way with Virgo, Scorpio, or the 1st, 6th, and 8th houses. Physical self-infliction can be strong (whether through direct, yet unconscious, abuse or through accident-proneness). Sometimes, physical vitality can be somewhat impaired, and perhaps due to the fact that the individual directs this energy towards energizing the more tangible, non-physical parts of his being. Exhaustion is apt to occur, although the individual may ignore his need for total physical relaxation. On the other hand, inner stamina can be stronger with Mars retrograde, alsmost as if one has a compulsion to be active regardless of the limits of the body.

For the individual who seeks to direct his energies towards spiritual development, a retrograde Mars can give one the stamina and inner strength needed to courageously explore less obvious inner conflicts and bravely combat all the 'enemies' he may meet up against on the psychological battlefield within. And as his unconscious is more likely to direct his desire-impulses, the individual can find himself driven to act or work towards an impersonal objective or world cause, instilling an urge to crusade and pioneer for others altruistically; he may be detached enough to act without considering strictly self-centered needs.

Saturn Rx (Bil Tierney)

Saturn governs all attempts at stucturing the ego in order to secure the fortification and stabilization of the individual's status quo in the social realm. When it is direct in the chart, its focus is primarily set upon the construction of enduring shells, barriers, and solid defences that protect the individual from being overtaken by external forces outside of his control. It thus becomes the planet of self-preservation, urging us to establish safety patterns through realistic functioning, which characteristically can be separative and power-control oriented. It attempts to ensure that personal vulnerability is minimized by establishing appropriate limits and self-discipline in the outer world. However, when Saturn is natally retrograde, the individual's urge towards personal self-structuring and definition is not readily stimulated by external conditioning. Instead, this person may unconsciously attempt to preserve a limited psychological mould or image of himself that he may chronically protect and support, no matter how self-defeating. If Saturn makes many stress patterns in the chart, then this inner framework can be unduly rigid and unyielding to external influence. It is likely that it is built upon subjective fears, compressed anxieties, inadequacy, and an all-pervading sense of personal unworthiness. Feelings of self-doubt and inferiority are more inwardly experienced than is apparent on the surface. Self-generated pressures are more emphasized.

Retrograde Saturn denotes one who turns all disciplinarian, authoritative urges typical of this exacting planet upon himself rather than in his environment for the most part. He can thus be overly self-critical and plagued with personal guilt whenever he fails to live up to his demanding expectations of himself. He becomes overly sensitive to any sense of lack or deficiency he perceives in himself. This condition can be the signature of a bruised and battered ego that repairs itself very slowly and hesitantly (since resistance to change can be very strong). The individual is apt to be self-negating or self-denying on a subtle level, and can be prone towards a degree of psychological masochism that is rarely recognized or accepted on the conscious level. Positively, retrograde Saturn can indicate one who is well-equipped to withstant a barrage of circumstantial stress without appearing very threatened or fearful. However, he is likely to endure these outer pressures and struggles without instigating the dynamic changes needed to relieve them. The endurance and perseverance of Saturn here chooses to function inwardly in an attempt to control or harness the energies of the psyche. As a result, he is less willing to openly defend himself and assert control though his will when confronted by stronger and more dominant egos (especially if Saturn makes stressful contacts to the Sun, Mars, ASC, or ruler of the ASC). Easily intimidated, he can outwardly appear to submit or bow down to the demands of others without much resistance. But inwardly, he may adapt poorly to such pressures and remain in a state of long-term frustration and resentment. Bitterness and depression can be acutely experienced yet rarely demonstrated upon the surface. He needs to set limits upon others in terms of what they demand or expect of him if he is to establish greater self-respect.

Often, this individual's conscience is so vividly experienced that repression can block or thwart the fulfillment of personal desires or ambitions. He may have a distorted sense of what he should or should not do. Perhaps one of the most important lessons to be learned here is the affirmation of one's personal self-importance. The individual needs to freely accept himself as he is (even his shadow parts) without empasizing a sense of shame, self-rejection, or personal disappointment. Fearful of successfully making personal changes that could beneficially alter his self-image (he can be morbidly self-judgemental), he is often too narrow in self-concept to be tolerant of his innate weaknesses. He will have to overcome psychological obstacles from within before he can expect to comfortably function in a productive manner in the outer world. Ambition to achieve social status and merit can be less innate when Saturn is retrograde, as this planet's determination to accomplish and climb up the ladder of success can be diminished. Perhaps true success for this individual has a uniquely personal meaning that has nothing to do with commanding respect and praise in the world at large. He may be more attuned with the challenge of controlling his inner nature and sensing security and power upon this level.

As Saturn represents the inner image of the archetypal father-figure, its retrograde condition could suggest that the individual's father did not represent the standard role-model. While not necessarily weak, the individual's father may have presented himself in a manner that seemed distorted or disorienting for the individual during his formative years. Or else the individual's attitude towards his father contained subjective facets that did not align themselves well with the outer reality of what his father really was like. Both confusion and ambivalence could have resulted due to this. Regardless, what is important here is the individual's inner reaction to his relationship with his father, since this can determine how he deals with both inner and outer authority in the future. In many cases, one with Saturn retrograde seems to have difficulty wielding power and authority in a balanced manner, suggesting that it is normally underdeveloped (or over-developed for osone, who attempt to compensate for feelings of powerlessness). The individual may be tempted to withdraw from actively pursuing challenging tasks and duties in the world due to his underlying sense of incompetency. He may even be relectant to accept maturity, a factor necessary for feeling capable of dealing with competition. Sometimes he would rather not even attempt to defend his social position if he must risk failure or public judgement. Nevertheless, when well-managerd, this Saturn can denote great inner disipcline, the ability to accept and work under limitations, or denails without undue stress, and the stamina to face difficulties with more detachment and insight. The really harder issues of life are normally found originating within.

Hi again Lalalinda.

I have done some reading on saturn in cancer... and I am supposed to be experiencing my first saturn return now.. One article says that this trying period of change etc will go on till july 2005.

However, another interesting article i came across states that my saturn return in 4 cancer was from July 6 till 12 2003 ! Does that mean its all over and done with? I must admit, things have been really out of sorts this past 2 years... very unconventional.. very draining.

But, nonetheless , i still believe in the magic of true love... he's out there somewhere.. he he!.

" Your Saturn Return occurs when you’re between the ages of 28 and 30. It marks the official end of childhood and “past lives” – the two are similar psychically and even psychologically. Perhaps you could say that when we come into this lifetime, we re-create the conditions of our past lives, be they “good” or “bad” which carry us through to the age of 30. After that, we’re on our own! Officially into the new lifetime, through a “difficult birth” at the Saturn Return, now we create from our own life force. The Universe asks us to discover (actually “remember” would be a better word) what it was we came here to do and get on with it. "
