Pluto indicates the manner in which fundamental and irrevocable changes come into your life.

The planet Pluto has much to do with the power of the will and with the faculty of attention-that is,the ability to consciously observe and choose their focus of attention, selecting their thoughts to be entertained by the conscious mind. To the extent that people can consciously choose their thoughts, they have free will; ALL ACTION ORIGINATES IN THOUGHT, and everyone is bound by the consenquences of their actions.

Pluto represents a principle that goes beyond the mind and its mental image-recordings and memories; the principle of awareness. Pluto deals with the faculties of consciousness.

Memory and mental habits tend to persist in the same patterns. Because the mind is composed of a highly subtle level of matter and because all matter has its own rate of vibration, the mind tends to go on vibrating in the same pattern in which it was originally set into motion. A conscious effort of the will is required to redirect or change these patterns, and this is only possible when people realize that they are pure spiritual being. They must learn to observe and control their minds. Only then can they free themselves from mechanical conditioning by past experience and from the automatic control of mental and emotional response mechanisms.

If Pluto is powerfully placed and aspected in a horoscope, this self awareness/self determination is more highly developed than that of the average person and indicates an advanced level of spiritual evolvement (Pluto is powerful when in the sign of its rulership or exaltation, in an angular house, conjunct or aspecting angular house cusps, in its accidental rulership or accidental exaltation by house position, powerfully aspected by other planets or any combination of the above) Conversely, if Pluto is weak by placement and lacking in aspects, self awareness and self determination are not highly developed.

Pluto also rules the process of recycling. All things in the material universe undergo a process of creation, evolution, and disillusion except the spirit itself, that supercedes the material universe. In other words, the only thing not subject to this process is pure consciousness, the creative principle behind all manifestation. The pure consciousnessis infinate in its speed and, therefore, occupies an infinate amount of space in an infinitely short period of time. This makes it omnipresent, still and static, and thus it creates time, space, and energy. It is through interaction of vibrations or energy pulses in time and space that matter is brought into being. When a material form is destroyed, the fundemental energy which organized the structure is redirected into another pattern which creates a new and different material form. The fundemental energy responsible for material manifestation
is redistributed but not destroyed, and the new form generated can either be useful or destructive.

The spiritual principle of consciousness direct the destruction of old forms and the creation of new ones as a means of creating order and gaining mastery over the material universe. Through this evolutionary process, perfected forms are created through which life can express itself more fully and creatively.

Each individual being is responsible for his or her own use of the recycling process. This pertains to all levels of creative manifestation, be they physical, emotional, or mental.

The residue of old conditions must not be allowed to poison the on going process of life. Failure to obey this law is evedent in our modern industrial/ecological crisis. Unresolved thoughts and emotions of the past can poison the psyche in a similar manner, interfering with perception and distorting reason.

Because Pluto rules the elimination and recycling of waste products, Plutos position in the horoscope shows how and where people must clean up and recycle the residue of their physical, emotional, and mental environments. Only when this transmutation is accomplished can the individual go to higher levels of creative expression, indicated by Plutos co-rulership of the sign Aries, the sign of new beginnings.

If pluto is afflicted in the horoscope, these individuals can be tempted to use collective resources for self-aggrandizement. They will attempt to coerce or force others, on some level, to carry out their personal desires often done through self-rightousness or the attitude that they know what is best for others. It should be remembered that Pluto, as ruler of Scorpio and the natural eighth house, is concerned with corperate money and collective resources.

Through the one pointed consentration which Pluto makes possible, spiritual forces can be focalized to generate power.

The sign position of Pluto indicates the manner in which people express transforming will-power. Aspects to Pluto indicate how they focus their attention and direct their will power.

The house position of plutoand the houses where Aries, Scorpio, and Leo are found show the practical affairs of life which need regeneration and where the individual is likely to express his or her will to change and transform conditions.

Pluto/Fire here the individual has a positive, dynamic will. Because it takes approximately 15 to 32 years for Pluto transit a sign, these pluto sign characteristics apply to a whole generation. However, by using decanates, duads, and degrees, particular individual characteristics can be noticed and observed.

Pluto/Earth brings about important transformations in business, labor and financial, professional, and political institutions. Major changes may be made in the structure and style of commonly used manufactured items, such as clothing, furniture, and appliances. Medical and dietary practices may also undergo major changes.A negative characteristic of this placement is a materialistic trend in social values and customs.

Pluto/Air This generation has penetrating intellectual abilities and talent in the literary, scientific, and sociological fields. A negative characteeristic of these Pluto placement is fanatical adhearence to intelectual dogmas.

Pluto/Water is concerned with emotional, psychological, and psychic issues. This generation experiences a general need to clean up and regenerate emotional habit patterns, both individual and social. Negative characteristics of these Pluto placements are undue vehemence in the expression of personal emotions or the destructive use of psychic powers.

Wow, thank you very much, lalalinda for shedding so much more light upon Pluto.

I have Pluto in Scorpio in the 7th house.

I think I remember reading that Pluto rules Scorpio, because it moves faster when it is in Scorpio...staying there for 11-12 years compared to the other planets, which could last up to 30 years, I do recall. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

So, what sign do you all have Pluto in?

I love this Pluto transformation stuff! Love it!
I have Pluto conjunct moon, venus, jupiter and saturn in the 2nd house.
I didn't realize how much Pluto was really responsible for in a chart, or a person's life. This was definitely informative.

My Pluto is in Libra, too...probably most of ours are.

Pluto is on the cusp of my 11th/12th house (Pluto at 6.30°, Cusp at 6.48°), so I'm not sure where to interpret it. Pluto trines my sun (which is in the 8th house), sextiles Neptune and MC and opposes Mars (at home in Aries). I find this interesting that there is so much scorpio influence (8th house is scorpio ruled by Pluto and co-ruled by Mars), although I have no scorpio in my chart (Scorp intercepted in the first).

I have Pluto in Libra in the eleventh house, tightly opposing Jupiter, and widely square Saturn. There's also a wide trine to my Moon, Venus and South Node.

I'm still lost about Pluto in my chart. Maybe it's not my time yet to fully understand Pluto. I have it in 8th House in the sign of Scorpio, is it its natural house?

Oh, and the search feature is off again...
