Hi 1Scorp
As I think you know......I'm a Virgo and can't stand not to help anyone out....so your post has "played on my mind"

Here's something I had saved on my computer (for speed as it's late here now....my brain has already gone to sleep & I need to go to bed now)......UK time here.
I can't remember exactly where these interpretations are from....but something in the back of my mind is saying " astrology.com" website....I may be wrong re the site link but anyway here's something for you.....

Retrogrades
In Astrology, a culture and the chart of an individual are significantly affected by the spin (or wobble) and movement of the planets. Most often, the planets (save for the Sun) rotate on their forward path. Then there's a brief period, called the stationary period, when the planets slow and appear to have stopped moving altogether.
Having a stationary planet in your chart is generally quite fortunate. Stationary planets emphasise the planetary influence, making you the epitome of that planet's attributes.
From our perspective here on Earth, planets appear to be spinning backwards after resting in a stationary position. This celestial phenomenon for astrologers means that the planet is in retrograde.
Planets in retrograde can have an inverse effect on the world, sometimes reversing situations and changing our feelings and regular activities. A planet's retrograde influence can tell of an individual or cultural passive aggression, an internalising of the surrounding environment and the skewing of emotional or physical communication.
Each planet has its own unique cycle of how many days it takes to orbit the Sun and its frequency and duration in retrograde. The planets closest to the Sun have a shorter cycle (for example, it only takes 88 days for Mercury to go full circle, whereas Neptune requires 165 years).
The effects of planets in retrograde vary depending on your own unique astrological chart, but the descriptions below reveal some of the more common attributes of planets in retrograde and their characteristics in general and for the individual.

Venus Retrograde
Venus revolves around the Sun in 225 days and remains stationary for three to four days. Every eighteen months or so, this planet slips into retrograde for approximately six weeks.
In general, Venus retrograde forces us to take an examining eye to our romantic relationships. Suppressed feelings may rise to the surface, and we may re-evaluate what we want and where we seek it. The rules that structure our value system may come into question; suddenly what we valued most may seem inconsequential. We may find ourselves rethinking the meaning of beauty and aesthetics. Financial issues may step into the limelight as well.
If Venus is retrograde in your chart, you may have some relationship issues to overcome. Oftentimes you feel too inhibited to seek what you really want and you withdraw from your partner. You find it hard to get exactly what you need from the people who are close to you. Some of this influence that applies to emotional matters also applies to money matters: You never quite feel that you have enough in your pockets. Self-worth becomes a large issue for you in your lifetime.

That was so nice of you Cat.

I see that Virgo coming out (very thoughtful). I didn't mean to rush you.

I'm interested to see what else you have to say about Venus. At your own pace of course!

Sweet dreams!

So Cat, what you're saying is that Venus deals more with romantic desire in the emotional sense, versus Mars which deals with romantic desire in the physcial sense, right? I was a little confused since Venus seems so sense oriented, but I thought lust was more Mar's department....
Please claifty

What if woman's Mars was conjunct a man's Venus? Would she be the chaser, and he the chasee? Or would her Venus have to be affected to take notice of him first, then tell Mars to "fetch"?

Hi VAA
If you have time, re-read the first article I posted about Venus. I think you should find some answers there.

In addition to that....
The planet alone does not give us all the answers - the sign & house placement also need to be taken into account.
Think of it this way.....
The Planet = What
The Sign = How
The House = Where

ie:
What energy/influence is being expressed (Planet)
How it's being expressed (Sign)
Where it's being expressed (House)

I'll start a new string for Venus in the different signs either later today or tomorrow.

and their Mars're sextile?

(That is, what if their's is a
Venus-Venus
Mars-Mars
exchange?)

I can identify with the Mars Venus thing. My guy has his Mars in Sagittarius conjuncting my Sun and Venus, but sqauring my Pisces Mars. My Mars also is square his Gemini Venus, which also opposing my Venus.

Needless to say, there is a fair amount of fireworks between us to the point where we can easily overstimulate each other. The physical union can be long or short, but it is always intense (A composite chart also showed that together we have Venus conjuncting Pluto). I have felt his pursuit from the beginning even with his reserved nature. At times our intensity feels like life or death, very passionate and consumming, and a little freaky!!

But having agreeing Venus and Mars aspects don't always help. My Ex Virgo with a Gemini Moon has his Venus and Mars in Leo which trined my Sun, Moon and Venus. Although, it may be that very aspect that has kept us best of friends even after the dissolution of the marriage.

Hi Ujala
If you go to www.astro.com
You can get charts - if you register there (it's free) you can actually save approx a hundred charts on their server - which you access via your own password.

Once you've entered all the chart info (day, month, year, time and place of birth) it will create the chart for you. If a planet was retro at your time of birth you'll see an "r" by the side of it.

How does Venus affect Luck?

There are theoretical discussions, I just like to know your experience. (Remember you posted one string on Luck?)
