One thing I have noticed over and over again is that like attracts like when it comes to important aspects to the Ruler of the Ascendant. Like Rulers in the same house(s), making the same major aspects, Rulers dignified(or in detriment)etc.

Example: Him Libra Ascendant, Venus rules the asc.
Venus in Libra (home)
Venus in the 12th (exalted house)
conjunct the Ascendant
opposite jupiter

Her Sagitarius Ascendant, Jupitar rules the asc.
Jupiter in Sag. (home)
Jupiter in the 12th house (Pisces co-rules)
conjunct the Ascendant
opposite Venus

These two react to each other in a 12th house manner according to thier respective signs. She reminds him (Jupiter, self-rightous) to do the right thing and be a better person, she spooks him with her talk of bad karma (12th) and he goes along with it, afraid not to just in case. (most of it is his own guilt for screwing up so bad) Deep down he knows its true but it cost(child support) so much money. (Venus in the 12th).

These two will be involved in each others life as long as they're parents (though neither one can figure out how they got together in the first place). Both claim not to like the other, but they get along so well.(when no one is looking) In times of trouble she is the first one he runs to. Venus suffers in the 12th even though its exalted here. Like Gwenivere, although passionate about Lancelot never got over breaking her vows with Arthur. She spent the remainder of her life in a covent repenting. Thats a 12th house venus (beautiful people).

Can you relate? Are there any teachers/students out there that can see a similar pattern either personally or with someone else? I'm interested.

So, would it happen to be an extra good sign if the Ruler of His Ascendant is Sextile to the Ruler of Her Ascendant, like if....

if his Asc. is Aries, and her Asc. is Taurus....

and his Mars Ruler is Sextile to her Venus Ruler in their Synastry together, then that is obviously a very good thing, right?

Thanks for answering this if anybody wants to!

Yes thats a perfect starting place, Personally thats the (one of) the 1st things I look for is if thier asc. ruler makes an aspect to your asc. ruler (it can even be a hard or minor aspect.) This is the connection. In general you do want the mars of one to aspect the venus of the other (attraction) A good one for sexual attraction (lust) is mars and uranus.(especially the conjunction) This one won't keep you together, but its nice while it lasts.

Dear lalalinda,

Thats so cool! My bf and I share some aspects like that. Can you please tell me what they would imply?

My ASC aqua's ruler Saturn conjuncts my bf's ASC (Gemini) ruler Mercury.

Also my ASC's co-ruler Uranus sextiles his ASC ruler Mercury.

Plus, my Uranus trines his ASC and 1st house Mars in Gemini!

There are also aspects b/w MY Merc in Gemini (5th house) and his Gem ASC + his 5th house Uranus.
Neat how each's ASC ruler is found in the other's chart in the 5th house huh?

These aspects sound really significant. What kind of connection would that indicate? More of a mental connection cuz of Merc and Uranus aspects? But then those are our chart rulers so would encompass everything right? I'm not sure.

Since Saturn is my ASC ruler, and Mercury his, would that minimize the negative influence that Saturn would normally have when its sitting on the other's Mercury?

Thank you

Sorry for asking too many questions. I just discovered this in our charts after your post, so am excited to know its implications

Stop I'm confused.
What is his asc. and where is his ruler (what house)? not co-ruler.
What is his most exact aspect to that planet?(to his ruler) and what house is that coming from?

Now you, what is your asc. and what house does that ruler sit in?
What planet makes the most exact aspect to your ruler?
Do your rulers sit in the same house?
Do your rulers aspect each other?
Do they aspect the same planets? (the type of aspect doesn't matter as much as making the same contact seperately)
In the above example there was a jupiter opposite venus aspect. In both charts
Let me know and we'll go from there.

Oh i'm sorry abt the confusion.

Ok, My Asc is Aquarius - rulers: Saturn + Uranus

My Saturn is in my 7th house of Leo (same sign as his Mercury placement) and Uranus is in 9th house Libra.

Saturn in my chart, makes the closest aspect to my Sun (Sun is ruler of Leo - sign his Merc is in) and to my Venus.

Uranus in my chart, makes the closest aspect to my Mercury in Gemini (his ASC ruler) and to my Saturn in Leo (again his Merc sign).

His Asc is Gemini - ruler: Mercury

His Mercury is in his 3rd house of Leo (sign of my saturn). He also has Saturn (my asc ruler) and Venus in his 3rd along with his Mercury.

Mercury in his chart makes closest aspect to his Mars in 1st house.

So, for the aspects b/w both:

My Saturn conjuncts his Mercury
My Uranus sextiles his Mercury
My Uranus trines his ASC
My Uranus trines his Mars in 1st house of ASC

Then I noticed that:

My Mercury (his ASC ruler) is in my 5th house of Gemini.

He has Uranus (my ASC ruler) in his 5th house of Libra.

And that Uranus in his 5th house trines the Mercury in my 5th house + trines my ASC.

Plus, that Merc in my 5th house of Gemini conjuncts his Gemini ASC and sextiles his Mercury in Leo.

Is that better? Do you see what i'm saying?

Hi Lalalinda,

Thank you for considering this.

I think the sideral system and equal house system works better. So the above aspects and such were gained from www.astro.com by selecting the Hindu/Lahiri geocentric(sideral) Zodiac and selecting Equal in the House system.

Really appreciate this! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Cancerian,
I just pulled your chart up and got a 1 degree pisces asc. I'm going to recheck my calculations and if they are right I'll use your pisces asc. This will take a few min.

hi again,
You have a 1 degree pisces asc. putting your ruler Neptune, at 20 degrees Sag. at the top of your chart in the 10th house (your most evelated planet) This planet sets of your T-square with Saturn (7th) 22 degrees Virgo and opposite venus in gemini (4th) at 18 degrees. Thats a powerful configuration especially since its on the angles.

For him I got a 14 degree cancer asc. making the moon his ruler (you're a cancer, and more importantly your sun falls in his 1st house instead of his 12th)
His ruler is also at the top of his chart (10th) and most elevated
So you both have your rulers in the 10th house (this is what I was talking about)
His moon trines saturn and inconjuncts mercury
His moon at 22 aries sextiles your neptune. So your rulers aspect each other.
Your moon is conj. your mars in Libra (on his sun another link) making your libra moon aries like or with an aries flavor to it. (his moon is Aries)
Your mars conjuncts his sun
his mars conjuncts your sun (wide)
this is the planet that fans the fire having it once is nice but twice is really great. Your moon falls on his nadir (another strong indication)
His jupiter falls in your sign Cancer
He can never stay mad at you.
Also his jupiter in cancer (exalted) and in his 12th house (co-ruled by pisces) He is spiritualy high minded (can't help but like this placement) So there another match (neptune is home in the 12th house)
What a great match. Good luck to the both of you.
Did I miss anything? if I did I'll be back.

Dear Lalalinda,

Thanks a lot for your time and effort. I'm glad to see that even in the western tropical system, there are strong aspects between our chart rulers

But, the my Pisces asc and his Cancer Asc do not describe us properly. We both relate much more to our Aqua and Gemini rising charts. If possible and time permits, I would appreciate it if you could do the same analysis with those ASCs. Astro.com should make it much easier...it calculates the aspect for you. Hey, i can do it myself and post the link here for you if you like. Let me know.

Again, thank you so much. You are very kind.

Love,
Cancerian718

No problem!

By the way, you did these calculations according to sidereal or tropical?

I have posted the links to our natal charts above.

Hi Cancerian,

I reworked your chart a couple of times and I'm still getting the same thing. I'd like your permission to post your times (only) in the astrology forum for a second opinion as to your asc. degree. also many of the aspects mentioned above are between your charts no matter where your asc.'s are. your sun/moon contacts etc.
Also for some reason everytime I tried to pull up your charts through your link it never would go through. I'll wait for your reply.
