I don't understand this. Could someone clearify for me... or possibly point me in the direction of information that will help me understand.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around how the Moon was in Cancer and and the Third House at the same time! The thrid house is Gemini right? So does that mean the Moon was in Cancer and Gemini at the same time? Doesn't make sense to me. I must be missing something.

LibraSparkle,

I don't understand what you mean? Are you referring to the transiting Moon? If so, then are you saying that the transiting Moon was in your third house?

Actually, that question aside... Could someone point me to old posts so that I can start from the beginng?

I've found the Part II Lesson Material link, and the lesson there within. Is there anything from before the Part II Lesson that so that I might study the basics? I also think other people's questions from the past might help bring me enlightenment.

Thanks for the reply, Cancerian... I think I'm just confused in the general sense.

I was looking at my Natal Chart (from astro.com). I saw that Cancer and Gemini were next to each other and was very confused by the prospect of it being in two places at once.

My Sun Sine is Libra, Moon/Cancer. Moon in the third threw me for a loop. I guess I don't really have a working knowledge of the Houses aside from which House represents which sign (and I only know that through reference).

I think I'm a little in over my head, but this is something I have really want to learn for a long time. I've never attempted to learn something this involved on my own with no F2F instruction.

I'm a smart girl though. I know with a little help and determination, I will understand.

I presume you are talking about your natal chart. The Moon can be in any Sign and any House (depending upon which House System is used). My Moon is in Capricorn in the 5th House.

I've read some of the Lesson II stuff, and found a section discribing the fundamentals of the houses. I didn't understand that they rotate counter clockwise. I was under the assumption the houses were static, and therefore it made no sense to me that the moon could be in two places at once. That's physically impossible!!

I don't think my head is going to explode anymore

Thanks for the answers and help!
Everyone in LL is so nice (as long as the topic isn't Bush )

Eh... I don't think he's as evil as most lefties do. He has some admirable qualities.

I also don't think Kerry's as great as most lefties do.

Really, there are things I like and dislike about all polititians (and people in general). Some more than others.

I still don't know who I'm going to vote for in the coming election. I'm not thrilled with any of the choices... of course I am a lefty, so it surely won't be Bush. That is mostly based on his religious fanaticism. He gives me the creeps. That doesn't mean I think he's a wicked person (as most liberals think). He comes off as a zealot, and there is no place for zealously religious people in the US government. IMHO, of course

This is one of the really cool things about astrology. Your moon is home and strong in Cancer (cancer rules the moon) So emotionally you are cancer-like, influenced by your surroundings, sensitive, maternal, and swayed in your decisions by your personal feelings etc. Placed in the 3rd house gives you a gemini connotation (influences, personal tastes and interest) Chances are your chatty, involved in your community, PTA or Church and are close to your siblings (moon in the 3rd) with fits of halarious moments, strong ties to the home and leadership qualitys (moon in Cancer)

I am a 5th house Taures moon
my daughter is a 2nd house Leo moon
see the connection?
Taures house, Leo Moon
Leo house, Taures Moon
She is so my daughter (internally) yet externally we're so diffrent

I have the same issue, my sun, mercury & mars are in cancer, but my sun & mars are positioned in the 3rd house, which is gemini...

LLL explained how that kind of double energy works, it is a lil confusing to wrap your head around but its pretty cool at the same time.

All it means is that your moon is actually placed on the cusp of the house, which is the bit where one house changes to another. If you have a look at your natal chart, at the slice of the pie that represents the 3rd & 4th house, you will notice the houses overlapping and that your moon will be there. This is particularly true with the Placidius style of doing charts. Not sure with the others, except the whole house system that doesn't do cusps.

I hope that helps
