Can someone explain exactly what a progression chart is?

How does it connect to the individual? What does it show and tell about them?

When the planets move on(progress) into different signs, these new signs have a kind of overlay on you. So, you feel the traits of the new signs. When my Venus progressed from Gemini to Leo, I noticed I wanted to dress in more feminine clothes rather than blazers and more classic clothes.
I bought more sweater dresses and heels. That is more of Leo venus than a Gemini.
