What is a theme house?
I know a theme house is a house that has it's ruling planet in it's house, like with me I have a Scorpio first with Scorpio Pluto in the first (ruler of the first house is in the first house), I have Sagittarius Jupiter in my Sagittarius second house(ruler of second is in the second), and Gemini mercury in my Gemini eighth house( ruler of the eighth is in the eighth). But beyond this I know little of the importance/significance of having a theme house.
How will it play out in your life or affect how you live your life--if it even does that?

I'm also wondering if a planet is within 6 or less degrees--conjuncting--the house it rules, does that hold any significance into the Theme House theme?

I think I made up that term
It is a house which will be a "theme" in your life. For a personal example, I have 4 planets in my 9th House. The 9th House which rules spirituality, religion, astrology and the general preoccupation of why I am on earth, in the first place, is a theme for me.

The house in which your chart ruler resides will be a theme house too.
