What or who is a house ruler, specifically my 7th house ruler. I've tried to make sense of this by reading articles on the web, e,g, on cafeastrology, but they are truly confusing.

My 7th house cusp falls in Aquarius, so that means my 7th house ruler is....?

I have been told that I have Aquarius on the 7th house cusp ruled by Uranus in Leo. How does one know that it is Uranus in Leo? So who is the 7th house ruler - Uranus or Leo?

A house ruler is the PLANET that rules the sign on the cusp. For example, your first house ruler which is called the Chart ruler would be Mars if your ASC( 1st house) is Aries. You need to study which planets rule each sign, first.

Gemmy, I have Uranus in Leo. Does that impact Uranus as 7th house ruler?

Thank you Ami Anne. Now I know what a chart ruler is. Was wondering about that. It would be helpful to have visual aids for beginners. In fact, I've started making one - that is how I learn best. Will post here when and if completed.

Ok I have 20 or so lessons. We will start with the first few which are easy. Then, the others are harder and separate the men from the boys
