Does anyone else use Part of Fortune in their charts?

Mine is in the Leo,5th house. Not sure if my 5th house fortune is from it or Jupiter who also resides there.

All 3 of my sons were born with only 4 hrs labor. They all were easy to rear and healthy.
I'm somewhat lucky in gambling but do have my unlucky streaks too.

I'm very creative and have written fiction and dabbled in art. Even had 4 books published (Romance of course).

I have to say, everything the 5th stands for has been excellent in my life. My Jupiter is also well aspected except for a 6 deg. opposition to my son, which I think makes it hard for me to lose weight and easy for me to gain it.
Some sources say the 5th rules the father and I disagree. Dad and I never got along and he is definitely my 10th house.

Where is yours and what do you attribute to it?

PS Since I'm 68 now, I can look back on my whole life and how the planets influenced my life. Those of you who are younger, can only guess.

Hi Barbee,

Had to google part of fortune. I'm rather new to astrology, so I haven't been using this. Intrigued by it though & love to hear more.
Just thought I say 'hi' since your post sounded so lovely. Also intrigued about the romance novels

Bye

I'm only eighteen, so we'll have to see. However, my Part of Fortune is in the tenth house! Unfortunately it's afflicted by squares to Uranus and Neptune, along with a quincunx to my North Node.
I guess I'd have to see..

Hi Barbee! Welcome to Lindaland....

How lucky for you to remember such a good life! I love it that you're older-- So wonderful that you can know the vista of real astrology and the planets at such a deep level... I'm 57, will be 58 in a few months. I know a bit of what you say, and can only imagine the wealth of what you must begin to know. Some things cannot be relayed by mere words. 'Experience' is amazing! It's the true treasure...

I've been looking back on pieces of my life lately, too. Hard to realize that I've already lived this life, and now cross the threshhold into elderhood... (You laughing?) In a way I still feel 25 or 26! But the body reminds me from time to time that it knows the difference.

Barbee? Only 4 hours to deliver your babies? WOW, that's great!! For me, the first took 27 hours to birth,(4 hours of pushing). She was breech, but I was able to deliver her without drugs nor a caesarian-section thanks to a wonderful OB associated with the midwifery center-- (yes, was a health-hippie mom in the 80's). In this day, they would have forced me to have the caesarian... so, that was lucky!

My POF is exactly conjunct (deg-min) Pluto Leo at end of 8th House. Also conjunct in same degree are the asteroids of childbirth and midwifery, Haumea(136108), and questing for the ideal, DonQuixote (3552)!

Here's information for your POF in LEO, in the 5th House, with lucky Jupiter there.

quote:
Astrologer Dane Rudhyar, The Lunation Cycle (AuroraPress, 1967).

POF in LEO "To feel at ease, outflowing and happy, the individual must express himself emotionally and project [her] personal feelings into everything [she] touches.... (p. 82)"

POF FIFTH HOUSE "...the creative or emotional energies of the person tend to overflow, in one way or another. ... Emotional elation may be found in creative artistic activity... The gambling urge is usually present, in one form or another. (p.75)"

JUPITER and the POF "The conjunction is a typical indication of personal optimism, trust in destiny, and ease in handling social energies-- which in turn normally lead to success or wealth." (p.100)

Astrologer Arlene Kramer also has a great website with information on "Part of Fortune"...
