My friend is having a baby. The birth chart of the child shows that her Cancer sun is in conjunction her Mercury Retrograde.Anyone know about this natal aspect? The only reason I ask this, is because she has been having dreams where her child has cerebral palsy and speech problems/delays. I've told her it's probably just new mother fears/nightmares. Then I looked at the estimated due date for the child and noticed if it's due on the date it's scheduled, then she would have mercury retrograde in conjunction the sun. I just found this interesting as the child in her dream had delayed speech and needed special education teaching/speech programs to assist her.

So any input on this aspect would be greatly appreciated.

It could manifest that way but it probably won't, unless Mercury is very afflicted (especially by Saturn).

Mercury retrograde in the natal chart usually points to someone who needs a lot of time to reflect on things and sometimes a lot of time to learn, too. The abilities of the mind are turned inward, so the person could be more prone to self-analysis and a more introverted type of thinking (not easily sharing ideas, being interested in things other people are not, etc).

So I wouldn't worry about it.
Many people have Mercury Rx.

I have mercury retrograde conjunct sun (9 degrees apart). The only effect I've really seen is having a harder time expressing myself verbally but I do fine in writing.

It hasn't been a big deal at all though. I did well in school and started talking on time as a baby. I'm sort of introverted and in my head.

I have that aspect in my chart and it hasn't been a big deal other than that I may have some trouble expressing myself verbally. I can build a big picture in my head but sometimes it's hard to communicate that. I did well in school and everything though.
