People have rising planets if they have planets that fall in the 1st house, close to the ascendant. These planets can influence the personality outside of what the traditional ascendant personality would be. If I were a Pisces 9 rising and had my moon in Pisces 13, that would be a rising planet and perhaps make me appear more emotional. The chart ruler is the planet that rules your first house. So if you were a Pisces rising your chart ruler would be Neptune, which for me is in my 10th house. IP: Logged |

I have my chart ruler conjunct my ascendant. Which I would think just makes it more important. It's from the 12th though. I think I look naturally more Scorpio because of it IP: Logged |
