I just recently became very interested in studying both the Synastry and Composite charts and just wondering -

In both charts, do conjunctions and hard aspects such as squares and oppositions have heavier influence in the relationship/compatibility than the sextile and trine?

Which aspects would say more about the relationship (or have the heaviest influence), is it the aspects with the closest orbs?

When reading a chart, how would you know which are the most important themes?

Thank you!!!

Hard aspects - conjunction, square and opposition, are more easily felt because they generate lots of energy, friction even.

However, don't dismiss the flowing aspects - trine and sextile, because they point to areas in the chart where energy flows almost effortlessly, so it's hard to notice and we often take it for granted, but it's still there; a supportive influence.

Generally speaking though, the "strength" of aspects looks like this:

Conjunction
Opposition
Square
Trine
Sextile
minor aspects (quincunx, semisquare, quintile, and so on)
