Everybody I know who has this aspect has had more than their fair share of heartbreak and betrayal.

Is this what this aspect boils down to? Unhappiness? A tough, tough life?

Is there a "bright side" to this aspect?

I actually just read a Linda Goodman comment on this last night that said the Saturn person is the Teacher in this combination.

The thing is, you both have Saturn Conjunct, so both sets of Aspects apply.

You have both positive and negative, so don't just get caught up on one piece of the puzzle, there are many different facets to a relationship.

You have Venus/Pluto in Trine, with Neptune Sextiling, that's a Boomerang.

So, you have all those to offset the difficult.

Don't despair. It can be an oppressive Aspect, but there are many more.

Well, most of that still applies.

Yeah, Ellyn, I meant natal.

I guess I'm just "introspecting" too much. But I've been realizing that I've always felt "squashed", just not able to break out somehow. And making the connection that this is this Saturn aspect.

I know there are the other aspects you've mentioned. Still trying to see how those play out in reality...

Thank you.

Yeah, with the Vertex and the Luminaries involved, I can see how it would be difficult.

There are Helpful Ones as well...

I have this...

Saturn is about limitations, obstacles and whatnot, the Sun is your Ego, your identity and at times self-expression. The two have a hard time mixing with their energies but the difficulties are placed there for a reason.

Saturn sq. Sun deals with the missing father figure, the inexperienced authority archetype and ultimately the fall from the Garden of Eden and out of God's grace. The Karma of Saturn demands that in order to inherit our full Sun's expression, we must search for, battle and decisively conquer the power of our own Authority or Will Power. There will be no shortcuts where Saturn is concerned. It could take one a whole lifetime or many lifetimes.

The self-worth issues are exacerbated by the fact that we lack the confidence in ourselves and sometimes seek it in others or in the "eyes" of others - when the only path is to seek it, build it and experience it ourselves.

The "bright side" is that once you find the missing pieces, you start to understand that all the tough stuff that you went through was actually the blacksmith's hammer, forging you and tempering you to handle the true power to create and manifest the life that you deserve.

The power of both Saturn and the Sun become accessible to you now and gives the fortitude, discipline, and understanding to express every act of ego as a true expression of divine love.

I don't know how it works out in romantic relationships, but my best friend and I have had this aspect and we have been friends for over 20 years, but lately I have felt like I have outgrown her.
