Each planet is located at a certain position.There are 360 degrees on the Astrological chart. The location of a planet is give by Hour:Minute:Second:. Usually, only the Hour and Minute are used. The Sun may be at 28:21 Gemini. You will see the degrees on the chart. The aspects show us the relationship between two planets. We know that certain angles have an easy energy flow between planets. Others have a difficult energy flow. The energy flow will allow the person to access these parts of himself easily or with difficulty. The easy aspects are the sextile(60 degrees), and trine( 120 degrees). The hard aspects are the square(90 degrees) and the opposition( 180 degrees). The conjunction can go either way, based on the identity of the planets.

It matters because each planet represents a PART of you. The aspects show how the parts will work TOGETHER. This is very very crucial to your understanding of how you work and how others work.For example if a man has Moon trine Venus. He will love woman. He will find woman beautiful. He loved his mother. He is in touch with his feminine side. If Moon squares Venus, he will have the opposite. He may not have liked his mother. He may feel estranged from his own feminine side. He may not like woman. The Moon is all woman. The Moon is the mother.Venus is what one finds beautiful and lovely. Do you see how it works. I will come back with more examples, until you get it. The Sextile is a 60 degree aspect. This would be exactly two signs apart. The Trine is a 120 degree aspect. This would be exactly three signs apart. The energy flow is easy and harmonious with these aspects.Hence, the planets work well together in the natal chart. The trine is an easy gift.The sextile has to be worked on to unearth it. However, it does not take very much work as it is accessible. In synastry, one can see how people will relate to each other by seeing which planets in one person’s chart sextile or trine planets in the other person’s chart. Again, we take the nature of one planet in Person A’s chart and see how it relates to the nature of the planet in Person B’s chart. That is the bare bones for synastry. I will give a few examples.

Person A —- aspect——–Person B

Moon trine Venus

In this example Person A’s deepest emotions will be beautiful to Person B as Venus is what we find beautiful.

Person A ——aspect——- Person B

Venus trine Pluto

Person A will love the passion and primal nature in Person B. Person B will find Person A beautiful.

The sextile would be exactly the same but not quite as accessible

The hard aspects are the square and the opposition.The square is 90 degrees. The opposition is 180 degrees. The square will be three signs away. The opposition will be opposite. The squares always square the same quadruplicity. The quadriplicity is a categorization. The quadriplicities are Cardinal. Fixed and Mutable. These give a lot of information about a person–a lot. They give it in an easy way so it is good to talk about the Quadriplicities.The square will always be of the same Quadriplicty. In other words, squares are always from Cardinal signs to Cardinal signs. They are always from fixed signs to fixed signs. They are always from Mutable signs to Mutable signs. The opposition will always be in opposite signs and the same Quadriplicity. For example Aries is opposite Libra but they are both Cardinal. Taurus is opposite Scorpio but they are both Fixed Signs. Gemini is opposite Sagittarius but both are Mutable Signs. You can look at the whole chart in this way. Remember, the chart is very very logical.

Back to the Quadriplicities. Cardinalsigns are the leaders: the take action sign. Fixed signs are the stubborn ones. They will move in their own good time. Mutablesigns are flexible but can have a weaker sense of self : a weaker self definition. You can see how the same Quadriplicity could lock horns. This can happen in the natal chart as well as in synastry. In the natal chart, one is stuck with this locked tug of war. That is my feeling. These energies will be locked until the day you die, as that is the nature of the square.Just by this one article alone, you may understand why some people rub you wrong.The signs which are squares to our stellium( 3 or more planets in the same sign) annoy us. You will understand many things which have previously been unknown by this small understanding of Astrology
