Hi!I'm not entirely sure what this means but I have Saturn in Accidental Dignity and in Fall, being in the 10th House Aries. What exactly does this mean? Does this mean that the Fall is amplified or does this mean that somehow things get better?? Thank you very much in advance! IP: Logged |

Hi there,In fall means the planet is situated on the back half of the sign typically meaning after 15 degrees, so a planet somewhere in the 20's degree wise is said to be in fall because it is getting closer "falling" to the next sign. As far as accidental dignity its a good thing to have for a planet and means the planet is "being direct, swift in motion, free from combustion or being Cazimi and beneficial in aspect". Also being in accidental dignity means the planet "gains strength for any reason other than its zodiacal position." Hope that helped you out. IP: Logged |

Well..that kinda confused me a bit. What I was referring to were Rulerships, Exaltations, Detriments, Falls and Accidental Dignities. From the research I have done, Planets in Fall are based on their Astrological Sign (and are said to be weak and usually negative), not the degree within the Sign. Although I agree that technically speaking, a Planet would be "Falling" after a certain degree, from my understanding it's not relevant when referring to Planetary Dignities. I'm new to Astrology, but I've never heard anyone say "your Planet is In Fall because it's in degree [x]". Maybe I'm wrong, but the type of Rulership I'm referring to is based on Astrological Signs.

Correction: I did just find a website which mentioned degrees of Exhalation. This makes the scenario even more tricky because my Saturn is 19 degrees 59 minutes. Usually being rounded to 20 degrees, it would be in it's Exaltation (only because 20 degrees is seen as the Degree of Exaltation for Saturn). Likewise, being in the 10th House also makes it Exalted. So...a double Accidental Dignity + In Fall. I wonder how that works. IP: Logged |

I believe you are correct it has to do with the sign and placement not the degree. I have an accidental dignity too. I think in your case of saturn in aries in the 10th; your saturn works best under 10th house influences but founders in other areas of your life. My understanding of "falls" is that they are weak, not in use, or function to the worst of their characters. So you may not have much control or restraint in other areas in your life (or perhaps so much you cant breath), but you use that energy to its advantage while achieve your goals. -just my understanding anyway.

I have a question kinda related to this, if anyone can answer. I get that when a planet is in its ruling house (saturn in 10th) its "accidentally dignified" but do accidental falls and determints and exhalted planets occure to? I would think so but they dont seem to make sense. For example venus is exhalted in the sign pisces, but if venus is in the 12th house the interpretation is pretty negative.
