I have:
Mars in 6th house
Mars in Aries - 0 degrees and 7 minutes

Main problem:
I can't understand any aspects with Mars and I can't figure out how the planet manifests individually.

Information:
Mars seems to be extremely passive in my chart, because I haven't noticed any themes of Mars in Aries behavior in any area of my life.

Depending on house system, my Mars could be in 4th house, 5th house, or 6th house, but I use the house system that places Mars in 6th. However, I have also looked for themes of Mars in 4th and 5th and I don't see any. I don't see any themes of Mars in 6th either. I just don't feel anything Mars-related in my life.

Does anyone have any suggestions for why this is? And is there any additional information I can give that would help with clearing my confusion?

I think I have an article on mars in the Houses.
Each House is quite different, so you may want to really study each one to see which one has the most goal oriented resonance with you, so to speak lol

The rest of your chart might not give Mars such a strong influence over you.

Mars is where you tend to put your drive into, what you actively pursue, and how to act on the area. Mars in 5th is driven towards romance, children, hobbies, or self-realisation. Mars in 6th is driven to service, daily tasks, details, or health issues. Mars in 7th is driven towards intimate relationships. Simplistic of course, but it's a starting off point.

I have a 5th House Virgo Mars. I actively pursue romance and creativity, and have been very perfectionist about both!

Keep in mind that Mars is an initiatory energy. He isn't about long term goals or deep psychological needs, but rather initial desires.

Mars in Aries, weak?

Would you say you enconter people in your life that embody the principles of Mars?

Maybe your Mars is being projected on others, just a thought...

I have Mars in my 6th as well. The only way I've seen it play out in my life is that every job I've had were retail-related (customer service and 'serving' other people)

I've also traveled to other countries third world countries to volunteer with NGOs, which is actually where my passion lies. I think I feel the Mars energy here the most.

Maybe you have your Mars in Aries (6th) intercepted?

I do not feel like I project Mars onto other people either. Maybe I just don't recognize the energy well enough to pinpoint it.

I don't know how to use intercepted placements. How would I determine if my Mars in Aries is intercepted? When I use Equal or Placidus, it just looks like every house is intercepted by a second sign and that's very confusing to me.

If you go on astro.com and under "Options" for "House System" choose "default"

If you do that and you come across this in your chart:
http://astrofix.net/2010/08/16/interception-landlocked-countries-and-bjork/

Scroll down and they have a picture of Bjork's chart and they circle where the interception is. You'll notice that the 2nd house and 8th house are intercepted. If you compare this two houses w/ all of the other houses, you'll notice a slight difference, that the 2nd and 8th house are "engulfed' by the black lines that are coming out of the center of the circle. If one house is intercepted, the opposing house will also be intercepted.

Maybe you should try sticking to one house system and using that as your default as you study astrology. All of the different house systems can really get confusing and steer you off track. I know it does for me.

It took some intense Googling to truly grasp what was being shown to me in your link. I looked at my chart using the Placidus house system and it looks like I have my 2nd and 8th houses intercepted. Saying this felt irrelevant at the time until I paid more attention to my chart.

Normally I use Whole Sign when working with myself and this puts Capricorn in 3rd house. But, what I'm reading about this interception says a LOT. Plus, my Gemini Moon is really close to the house cusp for 8th house.

If Placidus putting my 28-degree Moon in 7th house makes it just barely far away enough to make my Moon square early Mars not mean much, my Mars makes a square with my North Node and my South Node.

My North Node and South Node are actually in the houses affected by the interception. So, that's actually a connection from the affected houses.

The squares would make it difficult to experience my Mars properly.

This is the explanation that makes the most sense to me. I think it'd be difficult to find a better one.

So I'm not really that confused anymore now that I've found out about this.

Yes, I agree that having a planet square the nodes might make its expression dificult.
I have Mercury in Gemini (strong like your Mars in Aries) squaring my nodes, and I know I have difficulties with Mercury related things.

Mercury can be smooth sailing or rocky waters. It's a powerful little rock.

Great! Now that makes so much more sense. So basically your 2nd and 8th houses, along with planets, the sign, and other asteroids, are intercepted. These things will basically not be initially "felt" b/c it takes great personal effort for those house matters to really manifest. So it's up to you to figure out throughout this life. You'll feel inexperience in those areas.

*Sidenote*
I also have Moon in Gemini in the 7th!
