The 8th house is naturally ruled by Scorpio, so yes, it is associated with death. It is also associated with personal transformation and rebirth, and can also be associated with the finances of others. Many people describe 8th house planets as being "caged", except for Saturn in which Saturn with make you open the cage to these 8th house elements. ------------------ Scorpio Ascendant Aquarius Sun in 4th Gemini Moon in 8th Check out my blog ya'll: www.electrodgxtalks.wordpress.com IP: Logged |

Interesting, I have Mercury and Venus which is my 7th House ruler in 8th house as well as Chiron. I've always been worried about the ruler of 7th in 8th, and now Mercury, cause in those specific 8th House topics I don't talk about to anyone. IP: Logged |

I think of the 8th house as the house of upheavals and the unexpected(that includes death).Uranus rules my 11th house and things are often changing with friends. I make new ones, lose old ones etc. It never stays constant. Interpreted solely from its position, it suggests a sudden death or death through some form of shock/electrocution(Uranus) Ruler of the eighth(Mars) in the 6th-death may happen at work or could be related to the health/daily routine. Ruler of 8th(modern) is Pluto. Pluto in 7th suggests that the loss could come from an association or friend(7th). I suspect that death may come as a result of a sudden accident -since Mars and Uranus are connected through the 6th and 8th house respectively. This death could come when I am on a routine or errand(6th) doing something that involves some type of exertion(Mars) and is likely to be sudden(Uranus). IP: Logged |

Semantically, and aside from tradition, I guess it depends on the kind of death. The 12th House's dissolution and institutionalisation is also a type of death. With the 8th being a physical/material house (also rules sex and other people's money, traditionally), this could be more akin to a physical death, with the 12th more of a psychological or spiritual death. Just theorising. IP: Logged |

I have Jupiter in the 8th so I would say other people's death since a Jupiter person in this placement could live to over 110 years old IMO. Even Saturn in the 8th could live to a very old age. I even have the ability to sense death about 2 weeks before the event but it could also be related to having the Anubis asteroid on my ASC. There are many spiritual things that can manifest with the 8th house IMO. IP: Logged |

I see the death part as not only actual death but a death of a 'part of the person'. We transform, grow and reboot facets of ourselves constantly. It can be as mundane as waking up one day to a decision to swap out your standby breakfast cereal, after loving it for decades. It could be finding your old school friend and you grew apart. There's nothing left in common and you find you're parting ways. Of course there is also death of a marriage, divorce. Death of a title. You graduate, or leave school, you're no longer a student. Taxes and other peoples money are in the 8th too. IP: Logged |
