So I make my own clothes by hand and on a machine and I also hand embroider, but cannot for the life of me draw the clothing design on paper because I can't draw to save my life lol. I've watched countless YouTube tutorials but still fail at drawing, but yet my clothing always comes out well because I can translate the design that's in my head straight to the sewing machine without having to draw it (though drawing it would be a good reference tool if I could just learn to draw lol).

My Taurus sun is probably why I enjoy sewing clothes/dabbling into fashion (I've got no Libra planets). My Aries Mercury and Aries Venus in my 10th house could somehow be why I can't do the sketching portion of fashion design. I'm a Cancer ascendant and my ruler, the moon, is in Capricorn conjunct my 7th house cusp which could show another reason as to why sketching is a skill that eludes me. I have no Gemini planets and Jupiter is my only Virgo planet so that could show I don't have the Mercurial manual dexterity with sketching (but it doesn't explain how I can sew with a machine, hand sew and hand embroider so well).

Good question! Art encompasses so many different things, though.

Many assume art is just drawing and painting.

"Art" in the strictest sense has to do with venus, neptune, and 5th house (Mars in the 5th house really like to do some kind of artistic thing).
Since you are talking about drawing skill (which is more "craft", being physical, than "art", which is emotional) here, let's go with that.
Drawing connects to Taurus (which you have sun in, but that doesn't automatically give you the ability) and even more to the 2nd house.
Generally someone who is "good" at drawing means someone who is able to conceptualize and reproduce shapes well. It's having a good "sense" of the physical world.

Anyways, I think venus in taurus, especially venus in taurus with earth moon, venus in 2nd house, 2nd house stellium, 2nd house planets aspect to Mercury. Taurus sun with earth moon. Mix of taurus and virgo placements. Mercury in taurus aspect venus. Anyone want to help out with more... lol.
No one will be good at drawing automatically without practicing/working at it... The placements I talked about indicate having some potential.
Also, again I'm talking about drawing as a craft here/drawing realistically and not artistically. Different things. Venus aspect Neptune may help with both but more the creative side.

I have a tight Uranus-Neptune in Capricorn conjunction and it tightly squares my Venus. The tightest aspect in my chart. Not only am i delusional and unstable in relationships, I’m also super unpredictable when it comes to my sewing and embroidery. It’s either going to be a weird and wacky outfit or something demure and tame.
