How do you create a horoscope?

From what I understand, each 'horoscope' is read as if the sign is ruling the first house, and seeing the transits through that.

IE: Taurus horoscope, read as if Taurus is in the 1st house/Ascendant (which is why scopes are usually read via the Rising Sign).

But I wonder if this is done through looking at transits? Do you make a chart for it? Do you look at progressions as well?

I would like to get into this, but I am unsure! Does anyone have knowledge on this?

Sometimes! I've found some research on it, and even attempted it before. I think Sun Sign is usually done with Solar Houses- IE The 'sun' is just the Rising sign. So ... Aries Sun would be read as if Aries is the Ascendant, so the transits via house are explained that way.

It seems to be how it's done, I guess! Unless it's more personal, I suppose.

I often wondered why I identify more with my rising sign than my Sun, so this is really interesting.

I believe it's because the rising sign denotes the 'areas' of life we feel each energy- and the first house is the immediate experience with the world, afaik. So it makes sense in that way! The sun is ... the ego, or personality construct we live our daily lives AS, not necessarily the world we live in.

I know this is how Susan Miller writes her monthly horoscopes. That’s why she always says to read for both your Sun AND Rising sign.
