How significant is this aspect in a relationship? What does it mean when the girl is Venus and the guy is the North Node?

How close is the orb? It can be quite significant (not as much so as angles conjuncting node of course) but it does hold some weight.

In my experience, it is a sign of unrequited love - I have been through this and researched it.

i am not familiar with this specific synastry aspect so i cant say with certainty, but usually the venus person would be the one in love, atleast i have experienced it that way,i had an unrequited love situation, where my venus was highly activated,it trined all her personal planets, hers was hardly doing anything, and i was the one with all the feelings.

The NN is the one in love; maybe it sees the Venus person as someone who loves perfectly, and NN feels that it's destiny to learn how to love like that.

It wasn't unrequited in my experience. My Venus/NN conjunction in Taurus - conjuncts his NN. Maybe it makes a difference that I already have this in natal.
I think I will always see him as the love of my life.. but we will never be together. Not due to unrequited feelings though.

Maybe it sounds dramatic but it's the truth. I am very much at peace with things as they are between us. I feel like he is as well.
Although for a while we were both very hurt by the whole thing - because we genuinely cannot be together at all due to circumstances. But now it's... It no longer feels like an open wound - basically. I feel like we can have a long lasting (maybe everlasting) friendship. I definitely want him to be in my life forever. I can't imagine him not being there (but that is more due to our Sun/Saturn DW and alllllll the other Saturn stuff in composite/first meeting etc... We have Saturn everywhere (positive aspects).

yep, I don't agree that it's unrequited love either. It's actually very imporant. All planets aspecting Nodes and saturn are important..

Hi Mingirl
can you elaborate a little bit more on NN conj Axes.
I have this aspect with somebody his NN conj my MC and his SN conj my IC.

It is still little bit unclear for me.
Regarding unrequited love. I think there is some truth to that.

Betty interesting "My Venus/NN conjunction in Taurus - conjuncts his NN. Maybe it makes a difference that I already have this in natal. "
I think it does make a difference because you are already very familiar with this aspect.

Interesting, I did a little research and ironically the Venus people seemed to be more in love while they claimed the North Node person didn't feel the same.. or broke up with them.
but I'm pretty sure it's not one-sided either

Why, because you were so in love?
or because he didn't keep you interested? lol

Ami,
I read somewhere (I do not remember where)
SN CONJ with Venus is indicative of past life connection. Prolly you were lovers in a past life (if you believe in reincarnation).
May be that's why you could not see him straight?

Yes and His Neptune was an exact opposition. If we were lovers in past lives that would be good

It is news to me that Venus conjunct NN is unrequited love. It is actually a very karmic bond between the two, and the NN person experiences the Venus person as someone God or the heavens created especially for him/her. So the NN person will be smitten, and if there are other bonding factors in the horoscope, these two will have a long lasting relationship.

Heh, I remember having this w/ someone.

His Venus was conjunct my NN....a bit past it, close enough to my Ascendant to consider it a loose Venus-Asc conjunction as well.

I didn't feel a thing for him. He had this tendency to single me out in group settings, criticizing me and putting me on the spot.

[Amusing (in hindsight) anecdote: He eventually got with someone, her Venus and Moon trine his Venus, and they got married. He was in charge of the seating charts for the wedding, and he seated me separately from my then-fiance. People were shocked. I was furious and he later claimed it was an honest mistake but ya right....someone who knows him well let slip, "Wow, that's mean" when he saw the seating.]

So yeah, unrequited. Seemed he hated me and I was indifferent.

We had nice synastry...my Moon trine his Sun, Venus-Mars, blah blah blah.....but his ascendant must have been at some weird angle to my romance planets cuz I thought his appearance...um...aesthetically challenged. So no, I couldn't fall in love lol.

lol how ironic that you guys had all the "ideal" aspects but your relationship was so wrong XD
I kinda admire that in a sense cause it reminds me that we have free will reguardless of what astrology tells me :]

You have a point. (Unless his ascendant really is quincunx or semi-square or some other disagreeable aspect to my Sun-Moon midpoint or Venus or whatever....then that would explain why I found him repulsive but his wife seems to think he's the hottest thing since Toaster Strudels.)

He did try to teach me about his idea of how a relationship should work, which is actually quite illustrative of Venus-NN in synastry. But I poo-pooed his teachings because my NN is square my chart ruler. So we need to consider individuals' natal aspects to the planets at play when interpreting synastry.

I see it as positive for both parties. I think it means destined to love someone, or at least to like them and value them, with the Venus doing most of the loving.
