are you only doing direct midpoints (conjunction and opposition)?

I find the indirect ones, squares to the midpoint axis, work very well, too, if they are under one degree (not so much over one degree though), but of course the direct ones are the strongest.

Robert Hand wrote in his book on horoscope symbols that they should always be noted, and are as strong as any major aspect.

Hello! I've been practicing on my own chart first and it makes it a lot easier. A lot of these things make sense. For example, I have Moon/Venus = Pluto and Mars/Uranus = Sun and Mercury/Venus = Sun. It makes a lot of sense! No wonder I felt like this...

Hmm, I am not really emotionally unstable, and no problems with my mom - though now that you mention it I find it is interesting that my Mom has Uranus in Cancer conjunct her Cancer-ASC; very Moon-Uranus right there.
I have an Aqua-Moon, too.
I`d say it indicates that I am (and probably through maternal influence/ heritage) not a very traditional, conventional woman, but operate more from a mental perspective. I am capable of deep emotions, but there is a bit of a quirky side to them, and sometimes I have to take care that my mental side doesn`t take over or I overanalyze where all I need to do is to feel.

My Mercury is on 25.03 Sagittarius
Moon/Uranus- mp is on 24°14 Sagittarius.

As I said I am quite intellectually/ analytically wired, and noone probably should expect me to behave in the typical girly-way. it`s just not me.

And yes I do write and talk and analyze this stuff a lot.

Also, Mercury rules my DESC, and I feel most comfortable with men, who can handle an independent, intellectual woman, who sometimes sais a little weird stuff. lol

I mean it took me YEARS to even realize that Mr Sag`s Pluto is square my Sun/Moon-mp by only 8 minutes of arc, but yes, it explains a lot I guess why against better knowledge there was this compelling pull towards him.

Usually I pay more attention to the personal planets triggering midpoints though, but outers make their influence felt in this hard to explain, seemingly fated or inescapable way, as I found (esp. Saturn and Pluto).

Not intentionally. but I am a living contradiction between tradition and non-tradition I suppose.
Well in my chart Moon in 2nd house is exactly quinkunx Saturn in 8th, and the Uranus falls right onto the 11th house cusp, thus highlighting the 5th/11th axis as well.

I usually thrive when things are being shaken up, and I am pushed out of my comfort zone. Even though I dread it and I am afraid I cannot deal with the change (the insecurity inherent in the Moon-Saturn-quinkunx), I know I need it and deep inside I love it, too. It makes me grow in leaps.

Though I think there is a difference if a personal planet or an outer one activates a midpoint.

With the personal pleants it is often a certain trait that triggers something in us.

For example a man`s Mars activating your Sun/Venus-mp. The way he shows his masculinity, how he is as a sexual being, too, would arouse a lot of attraction and "in love" feeling in you. Basically make you feel as if you experience Sun conjunct Venus in synastry, jsut that it only applies to you (unless he had his Sun/Venus activated).

The outer ones seem to more or less colour the expression of a midpoint.
Like Pluto putting a hypnotic spell over izt, a compulsive need.

Or as I sometimes think

Sun-Mars often express like NOUNS
Jupiter-Pluto often have traits of VERBS or ADJECTIVES.

(just in terms of emphasis, of course a Moon can also act as a Verb, caring for or nurturing or something like this).
