What are the possible effects for each planet, in your opinion?

Only planets? Let's take points into consideration too.

My celeb bestie's Sun conjunct my Vertex.
William Shatner's Venus conjunct my Vertex. I crushed on Kirk for a while
My ex-celeb crush' ASC perhaps conjunct my Antivertex.
My favorite comedian's NN conjunct my Antivertex.
That's all I can remember right now.

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

Good question and I don't know

My crush and I:

venus (I) conjunct anti-vertex
moon (he) conjunct anti-vertex

I would say: not enough we both feel absolutely attracted to each other, we feel it is "FATED"

Points too, I agree, but their effect is probably generally binding. I'm not sure it's felt as a certain type of energy.

Maybe the feeling is like being stucked in some fate-thing?

I've heard of synastries where you would have a hard time to finding out why the couple is attracted to each other...horrible aspects or no aspects but a lot with vertex is going on...

Also, i wonder if conjunctions on vertex and anti-vertex are felt differently. Some say the conjunctions to Anti-vertex are the real romantic ones:

"Vertex contacts aren’t necessary for long term relationships, the way Saturn contacts are. In fact, it isn’t common to see Vertex contacts in sustained relationships. Vertex contacts usually bring forth the kinds of experiences that may be intense and life-changing, but often short-lived.

The Vertex is often described as a ‘spiritual ascendant.’ It is said to be a point where we have ‘fated encounters’ that alter our life plans. However, the Vertex isn’t always about relationships. Anything eye and soul opening can enter our lives when the Vertex is activated. It can be jobs, creative projects, health issues, personal revelations. Much depends on what house the Vertex falls in. It is a point where encounters or events will bring some kind of personal enlightenment.

Why do Vertex experiences feel like ‘fate?’ We feel fated when our inner world meets the outer, when something is brought into our lives, seemingly from out of the blue, that feels as if it was meant to be. The ‘fated’ person or event seems to come from a place beyond our everyday reality to change our life direction or alter our consciousness. The Vertex is the place where we taken beyond mundane reality and are reminded that we are always profoundly connected to the greater mysteries and powers of life.

Whatever involves the Vertex will reach beyond ordinary mundane existence to remind and teach us that there is no such thing as ordinary mundane existence. Vertex happenings are a tap on the shoulder telling us that our ordinary perceptions are illusions, and that the truth of our lives is always found somewhere beyond material space and time. And this is why it’s considered a wake-up call to our real identity, our ‘spiritual ascendant’. The ordinary Ascendant causes us to define ourselves by our experiences; the Vertex concerns itself with what we are (or can be) beyond our external circumstances. Vertex contacts feel ‘fated’ because they lead us to roads we instinctively feel, but cannot yet see. Vertex happenings invoke the Watcher in all of us–the one who knows, the one who works hand in hand with the one who experiences. This is the symbolic reason it appears on the opposite side of the chart from the Ascendant. The Ascendant concerns itself with taking in ‘life’ experiences which reflect on soul; the Vertex concerns itself with spiritual experiences which ultimately effect life choices.

In practice, I’ve found that it’s the anti-Vertex more than the Vertex that is active in ‘fated’ relationship encounters. If the Vertex is the spiritual Ascendant, the anti-Vertex is the spiritual Descendant. It is ‘other’ through the deepest essence of Soul. If we allow it, if we are ready for it, the anti-Vertex contact can be more powerful than any other contact in the chart comparison. We feel as if this person is absolutely crucial to our soul’s development. The significance of this contact can resonate for years, long after the relationship has ended. However, there is one catch to Vertex and anti-Vertex contacts: we must be at a point where we are spiritually ready for the experience, or the Vertex contact may come to nothing. As Hamlet says, “the readiness is all.” (The exception comes when we have our own planets on the anti-Vertex; another person’s planet or midpoint that conjuncts the Vertex affects the polarity point of the anti-Vertex planet. It makes the Vertex a very active place.)

People with planets conjunct the Vertex are often driven forward in an almost magical way. I know an actor, an Aries, with Mars conjunct the Vertex in the fifth house. He hasn’t been out of work, give or take a month, since the age of 16. Highly unlikely in any actor’s life, but that’s the Vertex at work. It draws experience which moves us forward.

People with planets conjunct the anti-Vertex, particularly an important planet like the Sun or a ruling planet, are often unusually self-contained. Whereas most people seek to find themselves through ‘other’, the anti-Vertex people have a tendency to be their own ‘other,’ and not be inclined to partnership unless it’s a serious one. Not that relationships will not happen in their lives; on the contrary, the relationships that do occur will be highly charged and deeply significant. But you won’t find people with important planets on the anti-Vertex looking for any old warm body on a Saturday night. The planetary energy, whatever it is, is looking towards ‘other’ for spiritual completion, and nothing else will do. In fact, if the influence is strong, they may have a hard time understanding the day to day relationships and attractions that others experience. The planet involved with the anti-Vertex and the houses it rules will tell you the flavour of the encounters and what area of life will be affected via the anti-Vertex relationships.

In some, the Vertex is very active, in others, not so much. This depends on whether or not the Vertex is heavily weighted, and it depends upon the level of spiritual awareness, which cannot be measured in the chart. Vertices with conjunctions or vertices that hit a number of midpoints are particularly sensitive. It also can be very active by progression. And it is also related to how open and ready a person is for new experiences and turns in the road, something which cannot be completely measured. We all have the ability to turn away from fate.

If others’ planets conjunct our Vertex axis, we may very well feel as if we have waited for this person, for this experience, our entire lives. And that may well be the truth. Entire life directions, entire world views, can change when another’s planets conjunct our Vertex or anti-Vertex. We may divide our lives into ‘before’ and ‘after’ this Vertex-significant other.

If planets square the Vertex angle, then the development of this planet is crucial to whether or not I become aware enough (and brave enough) to meet my fate. For example, if Saturn is square my Vertex angle, then Saturn development would open the gateway for Vertex-inspired experiences. The more Saturn develops and the more we learn to use it constructively, the greater the possibility of Vertex experience. This could happen natally or it could happen through a contact with another whose Saturn squares my Vertex angle. If another’s Saturn squares my Vertex, their planetary development will affect my spiritual development.

Ultimately, interpreting the Vertex axis isn’t very different from interpreting anything else in the chart. Whatever house it falls in indicates the realm of experience the ‘awakening’ encounters will occur in. The sign describes the method/process of the experience and also the general flavour of it. The rulers of the Vertex axis play a part, as do any planets conjunct the Vertex axis and the houses they rule.

It’s good to remember that the Vertex axis does work as a point of fate, but it can only allow experiences that reflect in the rest of the chart; it opens doors to rooms we are not yet aware of. It isn’t a magic wand, conjuring up what we wish for. The Vertex impels us forward via the soul’s intention, but it cannot deliver what is not already there in nascent form.

You may think that the Vertex isn’t involved in your relationship, but look again. Was the Vertex active in either of your charts on the day you met? How about on your first date, the day you got married, or the birth of a child? Is it active in the composite? Take a look. You might be surprised."

There is another interesting point in this article: synastry planets on anti-vertex (or vertex) triggering the natal planets already at the other end.

The guy that has reappeared now and wants to date me, says that he can't forget me despite me leaving him almost a year ago. I just simply faded away back then.

His Vertex conjunct my Moon 1
His Vertex conjunct my Jupiter 2

My Vertex conjunct his Jupiter 0
My Anti-Vertex conjunct his Moon 1

I had this before with someone. His Venus -Mars conjunction fell exactly on my Vertex. It gives a fake feeling of inevitability and fate. It becomes overwhelming all of sudden and gives the Vertex person feeling of suddenly intensified love which seems to be beyond their control. Which is totally fake if tbe rest of the synastry does not support it.
I call it The Fake Point, not the fate.

I woke up two months after his Venus- Mars hit my Vertex and was like "Huh?? I actually was madly in love with that creature? Fo real? ". I am glad Vertex expires soon after it launches, i was ready to do some crazy stuff under its influence with someone completely and utterly inappropriate for my personality. Good riddance.

With my an ex, his BML conjunct my Vertex, my Pluto conjunct his Vertex. I was very attracted and deeply in love with him. Very sexual relationship.

With daughter one, her Ceres conjunct my Vertex.

Second daughter, her ASC conjunct my Vertex, my ASC conjunct her Vertex.

With my friend, her Pallas/NN conjunct my Vertex, sheis helping me change my patterns and see things differently. My NN conjuncts her Vertex, we are born a few months apart and have conjunct ASC's so I'm not sure if it is relevant.

I've also experiences SN on my Vertex. I remembered past lives with that person, things about him were familiar to me, like his voice.

My Vertex is at 29 Aqua, considered a sacred degree, I believe and my anti-vertex conjuncts Regulus.

Vertex on my IC conjuncts Descendant and Pluto on my husband's chart.
Anti Vertex conjuncts the Asc( also sun n mercury though the orbs may be more than 2) on his chart.
N the vertex on his chart conjuncts Mars n IC on my chart.
Hmmm well we do have angle/nodal and planetary contacts. Together since the day we met : ) Though our synastry is NOT great.

With someone I've been tied to for 18 yrs. It was definitely full of that "fated" feeling, from the very first conversation. Very magnetic and intense, binding. A thing you cannot possibly hope to get away from.

My 7R SUN conj his ANTI-VERTEX (1°)
His 7R VENUS conj my ANTI-VERTEX (0°)
His JUPITER conj my VERTEX (1°)

I'm interested in what the theories are on VX square VX. We have the VX axes square by 3°.

As for Indigo, we have a different dynamic.

Her VENUS on my VERTEX (0°)
Her AC on my VERTEX (2°)

And with my mother.

My SUN on her VERTEX (3°)
Her CERES on my VERTEX (3°)

I love Dawn Bodrogi articles! She's one of my favorite astrologers.

I thought to share some info:

My relocated Vertex in on my natal IC exact.
The ex has Sun on Anti-Vertex, Sun is also his MC ruler.

In relocation synastry:

My relocated ASC conjunct his Sun on his Anti-Vertex (4)
His Venus is on my relocated Anti-Vertex (3)

He sure feels his Venus is magnified, and since he met me, first his family life then his public life have undergone upheavals.

Yes, I've read that article. I found the idea that the Vertex is a type Asc, and the Antivertex is the type of Dsc, intriguing. There might be something to the notion that the Vertex shows how we propel ourselves forward at important life turning points, and the synchronicity of how we do so. While the Antivertex shows how others ‘open doors’ for us, or influence us towards important change. However, when it comes to conjunctions in synastry, I’ve seen that conjunctions to either end of the Vertex Axis generate a lot of attraction. Perhaps there is a difference in the flavor of the attraction depending on which end of the axis has the conjunction. Personally I’m not sure yet on these points and I’d need to do some further study before I make any conclusions.

Conjunctions aside, I think other aspects to the Vertex Axis work as well. The Vertex Axis as a whole is like an intersection of fate, the location in our chart where important stories in our lives take place. When people touch our Vertex Axis with their chart they tend too influence circumstances in our lives in such a way that seemly fated scenarios arise, and important turning points take place.

Also I think Orange makes a valid point about Vertex Axis synastry being fake or empty if it is not supported by overall good synastry between two charts. In such situations once we get past the initial fascination that comes with Vertex synastry, we may find there is nothing behind it when get know the person… It can be kind of like a mirage in a desert. It could seem like paradise from afar but then when we get to the spot in question there is nothing but sand. Vertex Axis synastry combined overall good synastry can be awesome though.

About how each planet in synastry feels when it touches the Vertex Axis. When a planet touches the Vertex Axis in synastry the other person often inspires the Vertex Axis person modify their situation or mindset with regard to the issues and themes ruled by that planet. Vertex Axis person is often fascinated the part of the other person’s personality ruled by that planet in their chart because this side of their personality resonates with them in synchronistic, spooky kind of way. That part of the other person’s personality will stand out in the Vertex Axis person’s mind in a profoundly relevant way. There’d be lots of crazy coincidences and such.

With Venus on the Vertex Axis, the other person’s relating style, and way of expressing affection, would be very influential for the Vertex Axis person. With the Moon it’d be the other person’s style of nurturing and security needs, and also what their feelings are. With Neptune it’s be the other person’s dreams and fantasies, and how they escape. With Uranus it’s be the other person’s style of innovation, views on society, and the bizarre facts about the person. I could go on and on. But basically the planet person seems to make an imprint on the Vertex Axis person with regard to the issues and themes of the planet in question, and causes the Vertex Axis person to have to type of ‘eureka!’ type experience, where they re-evaluate those issues and themes in their life. Maybe they learn from Mars on the Vertex Axis just how they aught to assert themselves in order to move forward in the right direction. Looking at it another way, if the overall syanstry is not so great, maybe they learn from Mars on the Vertex Axis exactly what not to do if they want to avoid trouble.

Planets that touch the Vertex Axis in synastry become like examples to us of certain ideals. But the ideal they are exemplifying could by a tragic fable or a dream-come-true fairy tale. It depends on the overall synastry. Whatever the case the issues and themes of those planets in the other person’s chart will have a memorable influence and linger in our minds, having an effect on our future choices.

Oh yeah, and another thing to look at would be what house-ruler in the other person's chart is aspecting the Vertex Axis. This would give clues as to what areas of life for the planet person are influential to the Vertex Axis person.

It might also be worthwhile to check what the rulers of the Vertex and Antivertex are doing in synastry.

I agree with Orange (lol sis you made me laugh with your Fake Fate) and Lotis about the VX/Avx being activated without a proper synastry and feeling like the spell in Midsummer's Dream lol a passing one, but I guess there must be some effect after all, one of them being: I've just found out what I don't like or don't want to experience again

So interesting about the houses ruled by the planets and Vx/Avx rulers - I've had the time to only take a quick glances at my personal synastries - I have very significant connections in all my relationships, romantic or otherwise, with the vertices, can't wait to check the ruler story, You gave me some interesting work to do, thanks Lotis Ahhh, I want an extra life to study astrology all the time

However, I think the planets are not necessarily models in a positive sense. Through their planet, they can teach you to renounce something related to that planet, as you very well put it. I have a lot of research to do about that, I'm still a beginner with the vertices. Luckily, I have a lot of personal examples, can't wait to dive into those.

LoLo, my vesta sis,
Vertex does work and very strongly at that!
It's overwhelming, actually. It hits very fast, not necessarily in the beginning, but something triggers it - and, bam - you are up to your eyeballs dipped in "fate and karma want us to be together" kind of feeling.
It has nothing to do with fate.
It's just the Vertex's game to tie two people together because Vertex needs to eat. Once Vertex had enough of it, he throws them out of the window.
If you are lucky to have a strong and beautiful synastry - then Vertex did you a favour to jump up the start of the relationship.
If the two people are incompatible, however, and trust me Vertex does not discriminate - he can bring a pincher and an elephant together if he wants to - then they are bound to do some pretty stupid stuff which will be regretted afterwards. Been there.

Orange, do you think a mutual connection is more binding? Or it just means they both learn their (different) lessons from the interaction and they're both equally and strongly attracted?

Vertex axis synastry is pretty interesting to say the least , look at the Camilla/Charles/Diana synastry

Camilla's and Charles vertex conjunct
Her vertex conjunct his mars 1
His vertex opp her uranus exact

Diana and Charles
Her vertex square his moon, mercury and NN.
Her vertex conjunct his asc 1
His vertex conjunct her asc 4 and her asteroid union exact.

Do you include squares with vertices? I've always been tempted to look only at conjunctions, because in this case I think the axis has to be literally touched (in the specific signs and houses) in order to be activated.

What do you all think?
