I stumbled across norse mythology and found this story of Nerthus and Njord. The reason it caught my attention is that when i first saw an asteroid Nerthus mentioned here on LL, i instantly knew where it would be in my chart - right where his Sun is. And there it was. It was a couple of years ago. And only now i found that there was a norse god whose story included also Nerthus - Njord.

Nerthus/Njördhr may have been an hermaphrodite; or else the two, god and goddess, were (like Fro Ing and the Frowe) seen as a pair of twins and lovers. [i]

[i] Loki accuses Njördhr of having gotten Freyr and Freyja upon his own sister, and mentions also that the latter pair had committed incest; Njördhr's sister is never named, but it is easy to believe that the two were originally a male/female pair of identical twins. This belief is borne out by the complementary character of the two; while both have islands as holy steads, Njördhr is described as a god of the sea in all the Norse sources, while Nerthus is “Terra Mater,” “Mother Earth.” United, they rule the whole of the world characterized by mysterious depths, fruitfulness, and hidden wisdom and might; the dark Wanic world of earth and water. The mightiest holy steads of the Wans are islands and bogs, where the two come together.

So it seems like a legit soulmate couple for me. They were male/female identical twins yet complete opposites that also were in love and
produced two children - Freyr and Freya.

What i want from you is to check your synastries with these two and see if there are any links!

In composite Nerthus is widely conjunct Chiron though (4 degrees)

They are trine in the progressed composite

Njord 5.33 Cap (almost on my Venus)
Nerthus 6.14 Taurus

in his own natal progressions they are exactly sextile with hi pr Njord being exact on my natal Moon.

For me they are opposite in progressions, though more widely (1.33)

my pr Njord being on his natal Uranus exact.

I suppose it might not be a universal though. Norse mythology and runes - it all feels very close to me since ages. And it actually feels closer than, for example, vedic or else. Geographically closer as well.

it is weird, I SHOULD feel closer to it, too, but the celtic feels so much closer soulwise to me than the norse. even though I live in Germany. I am very interesting in nordic too, though, just it doesn`t feel as familiar.

I have Njord conjunct Sun, which means his Sun opposes my Njord sextiles his Moon.

My Nerthus conjuncts my Eros and his Mars, part of my Venus cross with Neptune and Jupiter.

His Njord conjuncts his MC and Saturn and SN, squares my Mars and our Suns, semisquares my Moon.

His Nerthus conjuncts his Cupido opposes my Mars stellium, trines my Neptune, sextiles his Venus and our Mars/Nerthus/Eros quincunx my Venus.

In the composite they are connected in multiple aspects with the planets.

What I liked was the Davison, where Njord conjunct Mars (4) and Nerthus conjunct Venus (2) Thanks, Selene!

Nerthus conjunct Mars and Njord conjunct Venus in the composite, funny

My natal Njord is conjunct my Venus and Nerthus is in the 8th in Aries and they're even sextile. Cool, isn't it?

cNJORD conjunct cCHIRON-ALGOL (2°) in 7H.
cNJORD/NERTHUS=VERTEX (1°)

Synastrically, nothing to write home about. His NJORD on my PSYCHE; perhaps interesting, as he has NERTHUS conjunct his nPSYCHE.

I did notice a quirk.

He has NERTHUS and ALMA parallel (0°30) and contraparallel ISIS (0°50).

I have NJORD parallel my ISIS (0°30) and OSIRIS (1°20).

Here's what had me taking note, though.

dVENUS conjunct dNJORD (1°)
dNJORD conjunct dVENUS (2°)

His dNERTHUS and dNJORD are parallel, too, by 0°50.

There's some intriguing stuff in the P charts.

My PNERTHUS has:

SUN conjunct NJORD (3°)
PSYCHE conjunct NERTHUS (4°) and NNODE (1°)

His PNERTHUS is interesting, too:

PSYCHE conjunct NERTHUS (3°) conjunct EROS (4°) and MOON (4°).

VENUS conjunct MARS (1°) sextile 1H NJORD (2°).

He has a wide SUN conjunct MOON here, too.

His PNERTHUS MOON is exactly trine my PNERTHUS MOON and his PNERTHUS VENUS-MARS.

His KARMA-DESTINN sits right on his DSC, too. It's also trine the above.

Wow. Grand Fire Trine here. All at 14° in Fire.

My DESTINN-KARMA instead straddles my MC in my PNERTHUS. KARMA's on his nSUN.

Let's look at PNJORD ...

My PNJORD MOON is opposite my PNERTHUS MOON exactly. Interesting! And on my nSNODE, and his nVENUS-EROS.

He's got PSYCHE conjunct NERTHUS again! With VENUS also 4° away!

Wow. A pattern.

His PNJORD MOON is also on the MP of his PNERTHUS SUN-MOON. 6°5' PIS and 7° PIS.

I think it all boils down to this, though:

In my PNERTHUS, my NERTHUS is 29° CAN, while the SUN is conjunct NJORD.

In his PNJORD, his NJORD is 29° CAN.

Then in his PNERTHUS, his NJORD is 16° GEM, with my NJORD in my PNJORD at 13° GEM -- and his SUN in the PNJORD -- 18° GEM.

There's some real interplay here.

But the fact that my PNERTHUS NERTHUS exactly conjuncts his PNJORD NJORD at 29° CAN.

I'm not sure WHAT to do with that; it just looks like a link.

Have you looked at the NERTHUS and NJORD Personae charts? I was pretty mind-blown that we have an exact conjunction there.

Oh, weird question, Gabby.

You said you and your Twin fought, yes? I know that's a strange thing to presume -- that you hadn't. But I just assume that any lovers after a period of time must have some strong arguments -- if not knock-down drag-out fights.

When that was happening -- how did it affect you? Did you find yourself becoming ill with minor annoyances? Feeling depleted? Exhausted? Angry?

Yes, exhausted, weak and shaky!
It felt almost like the life was being sucked out of me, like my blood sugar had dropped and suddenly my body was so heavy I didn't have the strength to lift it.
The only time I've ever broken out in hives was during a serious fight something was said and we thought it was over.

What's strange is once his anger disappeared (he always stayed calm...I didn't) Once I felt his anger leave and all that was left was his hurt, it felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. My anger immediately vanished also and I would do anything to try to take his pain away.
Eventually we both realized that when we hurt each other, the person who inflicted it got it back, energetically it was passed back to the person who inflicted the pain but with the addition of the heart break we'd caused them.
It didn't take long before we became very aware of how deeply we could hurt each other and we grew to be very very delicate with each other's hearts and feelings. I never wanted to say anything that would hurt him, because it hurt me. I only wanted to bring him up because I loved feeling him feeling feel high and good about himself.
The energy pass between us was so extreme and immediate, it helped me understand how we are all connected. Even though my connection with everyone isn't as intense or effortless it did give a good foundation to build on and to learn how to feel connected with other ppl to.

Those two asteroids oppose in the composite of my husband and I with Njord in our first house and Nerthus in our 7th house.

What is even more weird is that Composite Njord conjuncts almost exact my moon by less than an orb and Composite Nerthus conjuncts exact my mercury which is ruler of my 7th.

In our composite the ruler of my seventh conjuncts the ruler of his 7th (mercury conjunct mars).

What do you think of our chart Indigo? I find it interesting that our uranus is in our 10th at 29 degrees scorpio and conjuncts asteroid nofretete as I have reason to belief we have a past egyptian life and our karma has to do with that life. Uranus squares venus in the 6th and it opposes chiron and chiron forms a yod and the opposition is in the middle of that Yod.
Our comp venus conjuncts both of our natal venuses.

Njord is often mistaken for the god of the sea though this conception is wrong because that was Ægir, Njord is more a god of bays, coasts, lakes, and shallow water, he is also the god of the wind which explains his popularity among Germanic sailors.

Njord is a member of the Wanen family who was sent to the Ansen as a hostage after the war between this two families, he quickly became highly respected by the Ansen and the word "hostage" can thus be taken lightly.

He is married to his sister Nerthus (which is normal among the Wanen) and the Ansen often make fun of this, in older sources Njord and Nerthus appear to be both one and the same god, a reliable theory states that Njord/Nerthus is a hermaprodite god/dess.

Njord begot Frey and Freya with the Giantess Skadi but they never really became happy with eachother and they mostly live separated, another theory is that Frey and Freya were born out of Njord himself.
Njord was considered to be very rich because in ancient times fertility was equalled to wealth, in Scandinavia there used to be an expression that said; "As rich as Njord".

Nerthus 601
Njord 4213

I found more info on this:

God of the Sea and Mother of Earth ! Very nice catch of these two twin lovers:

The gods and goddesses of Asatru: Njord and Nerthus
The name of this North German goddess, Nerthus (coming from a root meaning “under” – the same root that Modern English “north” is derived from), is precisely the same name as that of the Old Norse god Njördhr or Njord; only the gender and linguistic form are changed between the Proto-Germanic and the Old Norse. The same deity may have been known as a god or a goddess in different places; Nerthus/Njördhr may have been an hermaphrodite; or else the two, god and goddess, were (like Fro Ing and the Frowe) seen as a pair of twins and lovers. In “Lokasenna,” Loki accuses Njördhr of having gotten Freyr and Freyja upon his own sister, and mentions also that the latter pair had committed incest; Njördhr's sister is never named, but it is easy to believe that the two were originally a male/female pair of identical twins.

The Wanic cult is as closely associated with the cults of the dead as with the fruitfulness of the land, and for much the same reason: as the rulers of earth and water, Nerthus, Njördhr, and their children receive whatever is put into the darkness, even as what springs forth from it is their gift. The Wanic ship is the means of crossing from one realm to another; it is the funeral ship of the burial as well as the ship of life. This can be seen in the prologue to Beowulf, in which it is told how the Wanic king Scyld Scefing (“Shield Sheaf-Descended,” a name which points to this figure as one of the rulers embodying the might of Fro Ing/Freyr) was sent over the waters in a ship as an infant – sailing into the land of the living. After a long life as a mighty warrior and great leader, Scyld, on his deathbed, orders that he be put into a boat again and sent out onto the waves, and so his boat is laden with great treasure.

Perhaps for the same reason, the Wanic god/esses are strongly associated with riches; the dead were buried with their possessions, many of which were very fine, therefore the realm of the Wans was that which held the most treasure. Snorri says of Njördhr that “he is so rich and blessed with wealth, that he may give (to humans) great plenty of lands and things, and he shall be called upon for this,” and of Freyr that “he rules also the prosperity of humans.”

Although they are not of the kin of giants, the Wans mate freely with these wights. Njördhr and Fro Ing (Freyr) both take wives from the giant race; these wives, Skadhi and Gerdhr are both embodiments of the frozen earth who must be “melted”; and in both cases, the process involves a symbolic emasculation (displaced onto Loki in the tale of Skadhi and Njördhr). The Frowe (Freyja), in turn, is the chief object of giantish desire, though none of these wights ever succeed in getting her.
