I been thinking how important angle overlays are in synastry. In general astrology, angles are given as much importance as the planets. So I'm wondering if they could be given the same amount of importance when it comes to overlays.

For example, in this chart with me and this guy, my Ascendant falls on his 11th house and his Ascendant falls on my 2nd house. We were both good friends. We met in percussion class, which I think would also be ruled by the 2nd house since it is a venusian house and venus rules the arts. My Descendant falls in his 5th house and his Descendant falls in my 8th house. They are both relationship houses. He always had a crush on me, while I always thought he was sexy and alluring. My MC falls in his 9th house, while his MC falls on my own MC. I'm foreign to him as I am an immigrant to his country, while I on the other hand, met him during a class that is geared towards my dream career. I'm not too sure about the Imum Coeli. His IC falls on my 3rd house, while his falls on my IC. We kinda live in the same neighborhood and at school, we're involved in almost the same things and the same clubs.

What do you guys think of this theory?

------------------
Gemini Rising
Sun in Leo (2nd house)
Moon in Cancer (1st house)
Mercury in Virgo (3rd house conj.)
Venus in Virgo (3rd house)
Mars in Libra (5th house)

I agree that the house positions of the Angles aught to be given some serious consideration. The Dsc is our relationship house and shows how we reach out to others, and how we behave when we are around someone we consider to be 'paired' with us.

Someone's Dsc in the 8th could mean that their style of relating one on one, matches your need for private trust and intimacy in a relationship.

Worth looking into. Wonder what other people have experienced.

Hey that's actually pretty true. I like to keep my love life private from people, although I don't really know what in my chart shows that. But besides the point, what you said actually resonates a lot. Considering he has Venus in the 8th, that makes a lot more sense than just sexual attraction.

I agree with this, beautifully said, and additionally to this, I think the angle person also stimulates (activates) that house for you, in the manner of that angle.

From a certain POV, the energy is somehow similar to having the other's:

Mars (ASC) in that house
Venus(DSC) in that house
Moon (IC) in that house
Saturn (MC) in that house

Angle overlay symbolism in a synastry is very telling about the nature of the relationship, usually in sync with the rest of the chart.

i think angles are significantly important, but only when they touch each other or a planet directly. angles are receptive, so there isn't much to receive if they are just overlayed into an empty house. they need stimulation to be energized and that would come from direct contact with something imo.
