It's an intense DW to have, super passionate, but not always pleasant..

Sometimes it can feel like (as the moon) that your own feelings bring irritation to your partner.. At other times you can feel like nobody else could ever love you more or make you feel safer (who could protect you from life's terrors better than Mars, the god of war himself?)

I noticed it a whole lot more before we actually started dating, while he was pursuing me. He was verrrrry slow at making his feelings known (literally, I didn't know for sure that he had feelings for me until after 8 months of this... guess it doesn't help that we're both Cancer's). But I was overly sensitive to almost every move he made during that time and I know I acted irrationally and dramatically. I just didn't care for how he pursued me AT ALL and I often went through fits of absolutely hating him to being completely (well, as completely as you can be at 15 years old) in love with him. After we finally began dating, things were a whole lot smoother. There was definitely a lot of the same stuff going on throughout our relationship, but I learned to accept & appreciate how he went about life, and it helped me learn to better control my emotions, though there were definitely times where we went at it lol. It probably would've been a lot more chaotic if we didn't have Mars trine Mars and Moon trine Moon, so it helped that we did have some common understanding of each other.

There's definitely some tension there. For us, his PSYCHE is in 0º conjunction, so it softens the normal Martian energy into something more reflective and even sensitive. So my MOON was constantly, unintentionally hitting a soft-spot of which I wasn't even aware -- for years. This is also the sort of influence that grows over time. It's not immediately apparent. Only once the MOON is expressed in the relationship or dynamic does this aspect truly being operating.

My MOON, incidentally, is in a 1º conjunction with URANUS -- and ANGEL, fortunately. So it has a softer -- albeit, unpredictable, pioneering, and variable -- characterisation.

Since my MOON is 3H, and his MARS is 1H and 3R, the influence is mostly felt in our communication. Misunderstandings and unintentional wounding. 'You said you'd call me back.' / 'I was really, really busy.' He never believes I'm busy; when it got to the point that I WAS avoiding him -- I lost a lot of traction with the 'I was legitimately occupied' excuse. (As to WHY I ever began distancing myself from him -- that's a MUCH longer story.) Since he'd never express how much that angered him (MARS) he'd instead reroute it in an insidious cold war designed to wound me. Little digs. Or even public, audacious ones. Always hidden beneath the guise of 'you're too sensitive. I honestly didn't mean anything.' Yeah. Uh-huh. No.

Notice the recurring theme? Misunderstandings led to mistrust (his SATURN-SNODE-KARMA is right there on my MOON, 0º as well, so it's karmic) which echoed the betrayals from our karmic past, and it began to unfold in our communication breakdown.

Finally, he admitted -- more than a year later -- that our communication breakdown would drive him insane; he couldn't deal with it. Something would become unhinged, and he'd lash out in retaliation. Ironically, NOT bringing me closer, NOT mending fences -- but pushing me further away.

The overlays matter as well.

My MOON's 1º conjunct his MC. This had a HUGE impact upon our professional relationship and commercial pursuits; his PLUTO, incidentally, is exactly conjunct my KARMA. (Just another indicator of it being karmic in nature.) His MARS, conversely, falls in my 6H. Our communication had been a daily occurrence, and we drove each other to new heights. Unfortunately, we also drove each other to the brink of madness, to where we had to confront wounds we'd let fester forever.

Was that all the MARS square MOON doing? Unlikely, though the closer aspects are going to have a big, big impact.

Until we finally ended the cold war and began communicating honestly with each other (which was very, very hard!) the games continued, and our relationship deteriorated.

It's much better now than it was, but it took serious work to break that cycle, which, undoubtedly, was karmic and would have to be cleared eventually.

Now, this is just my personal experience. But you were seeking anecdotal evidence. So, there you are!

Oh, to give some perspective, we're in our thirties, and we've known each other for about a decade. Of that time, several years were spent in constant contact -- despite our both being misanthropic loners who have an impossible time connecting to people. I'm MUCH better. He's ... getting there.
