I do love legendary couples He was one of the most beloved kings in history (at least when he was young/middle-aged) and considered to be one of the most beautiful men in France. She was a commoner and above that a married commoner *big scandal*; many referred to her as as "pretty" but supposedly she never was a great beauty. Although their sexual relationship ended within a few years, she remained the "maitress-en-titre" for the rest of her life. She allegedly even chose the sexual companions for the king. Some say they were close friends. Some say that it was due to his good nature and his compassion that he never broke up with her. He knew that she suffered from depression and was afraid she would committ suicide if he broke up with her. What do you think about their synastry? His natal: Her natal: IP: Logged |

A lot of friendship aspects indeed. And NN/Saturn shows why they couldn't separate. However, when it comes to powerful people, you never know if it's genuine affection or the desire for maintaining a certain status ------------------

Sad...I mean she experienced sooo much bullying and misthreatening not only for being a mistress but a mistress of common descent but nonetheless she wouldn't leave. I read letters of her. She was a great letter-writer (venus conj. mercury conj. midheaven)and later in life she really was a unlucky person deep-inside. I am convinced she was deeply depressed when reading her letters...I feel sorry for her...but noone forced her to stay with the King if you know what I mean.... I think nowadays we can't relate to that attitude towards kings and nobility anymore. They were considered as "half-gods". Anybody at court and outside had the ambition to win the favor of the king. It sounds ridiculous to modern people. IP: Logged |

Yes, Enneline, actually, they have all crosses, but the most impressive is the Fixed one, with Moon/Neptune/Amor and the Jupiters (MC rulers) and his Sun on her ASC/DSC.------------------

I wouldn't say so. I mean there were tons of Mistresses But I just quickly checked the charts of some famous mistresses like Madame de Montespan, Nell Gwynn, Barbara Villiers and Madame DuBarry, etc. Venus often on an angle or 1st house (charms or/and eauty), venus often aspects sun or moon (again charms and/or Beauty), Venus always aspects Saturn (loyal but if other aspects don't cancel the following out: calculating love) and Jupiter often on an angle or the 5th house (likeable appearance and/or approach in business fields or romances) In Pompadours case: Venus/Mercury/Saturn/MC in sag; ruler Jupiter on top of chart -> calculating discipline of charms, intelligence with politics? One astroblog said "Business of law and marriage". IP: Logged |

Ah...how would you interpret that? I am prejudiced since I know that she did ANYTHING to keep the King sweet. She held amusing events, chose his sexual companions, made sure that he followed his hobbies, etc. The crosses could point to that. IP: Logged |

I think the crosses are binding, they create an unbreakable structure, a stable configuration which is hard to break even when you want to. They also show a couple who are meant to do a lot of things together, to live together in reality, in the tangible. Every cross has a certain significance in a relationships and Ceri is the expert on these significances ------------------

Can someone explain the crosses to me please?I have not looked at charts of courtesains (I wonder how it is known their TOB), but have read about some of them, and a lot of them are not beauties, but charming and very calculating (saturn venus). But also I have read that a personal planet (esp sun) on another person's MC signifies that the other person will lift the first one in society in the public eye. So maybe what this signifies venus-mc --career via charms/love and the saturn --powerful father figure. IP: Logged |
